What's new

Would it be possible to attract rich foreigners to invest in, and own future PSL franchises?

No need of foreigners as I have stated in earlier post buying a team is like a peanuts for top 50 or so Pakistani industrilists.

MS went for double the price then Khi and Lhr, 7th one will be more than double the price than MS.
First year was the riskiest as it was a new product so the richest Pakistanis were apprehensive. As now they have seen the success they wont shy away if got the oppurtunity. Engro is trying to be part of this by sponsoring QG.

I think having foreign investors will still be good as it will force Pakistani investors to put up higher bids and not be complacent. If China is investing big time in CPEC, surely they can invest in a PSL Franchise. Yes our economy and middle class is not as well developed as India's but we have under invested in Cricket in Pakistan, the private sector has just not tapped into the game and that has to change now.

Middle class has tiers as well. Upper, mid-level and lower middle class. Majority of Indian middle class can only afford items like tooth brushes and match sticks so i dont know how they are more developed. The only thing they have over Pakistan is the massive population which would obviously have more people in all sorts of classes including a good chunk from the upper middle class. Ratio wise it would be same in India and Pak more or less.

Nah mate companies like vivo, oppo are coming in indian market because the middle class is massive.. All these companies know they can make huge profit from indian middle class.. The upper middle class is captured by Samsung, apple and HTC.. The lower and middle middle class is targeted by oppo, vivo, xiomi, gionee etc.. Who told you it’s only toothbrush and matchstick? Both those items are actually mostly captured by indian companies and not foreign companies..

Indian middle class is massive in number and India is a safer and has a much higher ceiling of profit for any company to invest in than Pakistan.. Once Pakistan sorts out it’s terrorism issues it will get massive investments from foreign industries as the market there is huge as well..

Savak - I really have to question your saneness if you think CPEC investment is at any point similar to buying a PSL team

Even the thought is bizarre

More scope for Pakistani investors to invest in the PSL now.
