So if he had stayed in Pakistan, would he have been able to make it to this Pakistan side or he would have stayed at domestic level? and which format?
And would he have been able to keep his place in the team?

He has shown glimpses of a real good allrounder as far as LOI's are concerned. His bowling is really nifty. Can easily do the Mohammad Hafeez job in LOI's, has shown at times to be a really good finisher as well, although his batting leaves a lot to be desired. But what stands out for me is his composure against spin and the positive vibe he brings to the Zimbabwe side. Plus in Tests, he has started to come good with his 3rd inning century against SL, and some under pressure recent fifties in Tests as well.

I still remember when he debuted against us in 2013, he looked very calm and assured against a peak Ajmal and co but afterwards he lost his form or whatever in the longest format. He was tried as an opener in LOI's but was later pushed in the middle order in 2015 which has brought him some success. He sort of fills the Shoaib Malik/Hafeez role in LOI's, someone who is flexible in the batting order and can provide 7-8 tidy overs of spin in the middle overs.

I feel he would have been able to make it to the LOI teams especially when Hafeez was banned from bowling from 2015-2017(start) but not in the Tests.

What do you guys think?

One thing i say he is better than hafeez.

Maybe Pakistan of Misbah's era, but not Pakistan of Saifi's era.

No.Pakistan was full of such off spin batting all rounders a few years back .He is also not very consistent .

No. A wonderful example of a big fish in a small pond. He plays in a team that isn't expected to win any match that they play. His position in the team isn't really in jeopardy if he doesn't perform. Playing for Pakistan is much more difficult task and he would play against better opposition.

No. an average player who would have been lost in the system because they are too many similar but superior players in the country.

A lot of our F/C players would become regulars for teams like Zimbabwe.

Nope.
Also, I think Fawad Alam should migrate to Zimbabwe

Just wanted to bump this because he would totally fit in the side now. In the last 2 years has really turned a corner with the bat, averaging around 50 in ODIs in that time. Quite the useful spinner as well.

Time to repatriate the man, can replace Imad Wasim in ODIs :imad

He scored most of his runs against minnows anyway. Sikandar is a batting allrounder, Imad is in the team for his bowling, and he can bat a bit, no one thinks of him as a reliable batsman. Imad's economical bowling has been vital in Pakistan's several wins in the last couple of years.
I'd rather have a lower order of Hussain Talat, Shadab, Faheem and Hasan.

On merit yes but him making to the team solely depends on his connections :hafeez2:kakmal:uak

IPL is much better than PSL: Sikandar Raja says franchise cricket in India 'definitely stands out'

Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza has heaped praise on franchise cricket in India, saying that the Indian Premier League (IPL) is much better than Pakistan Super League (PSL). Raza is set to turn up for Punjab Kings in the 2024 season of the IPL, set to begin in March.

Speaking to Sports Now, Raza said the availability of top international players makes IPL really special, while adding that only PSL comes close to the IPL when it comes to attracting crowds. While Raza plays for PBKS in the IPL, he represents Lahore Qalandars in the PSL.

“I just think that the availability of all the players for one tournament makes IPL really special. In most of the matches we play, the crowd comes and supports their teams. That’s something that’s really different in IPL. The only other league when it comes to crowds that comes close to IPL is PSL. So, I think IPL definitely stands out with a couple of factors,” said Raza.

He went on to say that IPL is the biggest league on the plant and is much better than the PSL. IPL 2024 will be the 17th season of the IPL whereas PSL will be kick-starting its ninth season in March.

“IPL is by far the best league when it comes to PSL also. Like, it is much better than PSL. That’s what I'm trying to say. Yeah, I’m not a big fan of comparisons. But yes, it is. I think IPL is the biggest league on the planet,” Raza added.

Speaking about his IPL team PBKS, Raza said he can never repay their faith in him as they were the only team that bid for him in the IPL 2023 auction. The Punjab-based franchise signed Raza for Rs 50 lakh at the IPL 2023 mini-auction.

“IPL is such a big and global event that I am very grateful and blessed that Punjab picked me. And I don't think I can ever repay their faith. I mean, they were the only team that raised the baton on the auction day. So, if they hadn’t done that, I don't think I would have been part of IPL last year, let alone this year,” said Raza.

Raza will be hoping top guide Punjab Kings to their first-ever IPL title when the 2024 kicks-off in March.

Look, he is entitled to his opinion, but it's a very poor comment to make, and it should have been worded better.

He plays leagues all around the world and to make money while making a comparison that belittles other leagues shows why franchise cricket is a joke. He is playing in the UAE and then Pakistan but says both leagues are poor in an interview in India.

Just a few days before the interview he is making posts about Lahore Qalandars.

Can't take the players or these leagues seriously.

He would have never been a consistent performer for Pakistan because the system here is so unfair.
