and indian says Chinese tech is junk .... Lol

I have always wondered when this tech will arrive. When I first heard about “wireless charging” years ago, I thought this is what it would look like, and not the totally useless “wireless charging” that we have today.

UK's decision to decouple from Chinese tech will probably mean we'll be lagging on a few fronts for a while. Not even sure when 5G will roll out never mind wireless air charging.

incredible technology - would like to use it if in good shape.

Surprising Xiomi beat Samsung and Apple to it considering both of them have patents on it.

That won't change anything, Chinese tech is alway gimmicks and very early adopters with too many bugs to use - its not till the American giants like Apple or Google take it on, that it becomes mass adoptable and perfect for everyday use.

This is what I love china for, it pushes these American companies faster to give us this tech which is perfect for everyday use, without Chinese gimmicks Apple would've been so far behind in the iPhone development and 12 pro max just wouldn't be what is today. This is what china does nowadays, it pushes these developments into there faces but its the Americans who perfected them to be used in a mass scale and im sure the same will happen here, this wireless charging, foldable screens etc. will only be perfected for everyday use when Apple or Google release them.

Xiaomi is massive. Been a fan for years .. but they're a Chinese government quango complicit in Uighur genocide

China is so far ahead of India when it comes to modern tech that it is not even funny. Their advancement in medical field and AI is awesome. They have to be compared to USA. Not to poor south Asian nations.

They should try competing with South Korea/Japan.. who are way more innovative than them and in their region.

South Asia is a sloth that believes culture/language/religion trumps innovation/tech although Sri Lanka are somewhat innovative..

China might be ahead of Korea now when you consider there are many Chinese manufacturers whose flagships are better than Samsung or Sony; Oppo, Xiaomi, Huawei and others

Thats comparing one company and that too on being better not innovative, South Korea still sits way ahead of China in innovation index but yeah wouldn’t be able to compete with China due to sheer number in 30-40 years.(hopefully someone cracks the Quantum Ai before China takes over the world, I rather live under AI )

I was talking about 5G in particular, BT had already invested in Huawei infrastructure, to strip it out and start fresh is supposedly going to set it back a couple of years.

False alarm. It was just a demo. The actual product is probably a couple of years away.

From Xiaomi's head of PR -

You obviously haven't heard of CES. Tech companies show off their upcoming tech not just to get consumers interested, but also to solidify patents. It's normal practise in the industry.
