Bowled poorly and his error in the end (not bringing the bat back in the crease on time) showed lack of awareness that lost Pakistan a chance to create history. What was Yasir Shah doing? Of course, the media and experts are lashing out at him now.

I hope he is reflecting back on his performance now.

Take your time, it's only a Test match: Bizarre moment Pakistan batsman ambles back to his crease only to find his stump missing and Australia celebrating

Shane Warne lashes out at Yasir Shah over his negative bowling tactics against Australia

Misbah used Yasir really poorly. How was that Yasir fault? Those tactics especially against the left handers swere absolutely baffling. Yasir bowled as well as he could despite the awful plan and field set

Run out was a school boy mistake.

Strategy of bowing leg stump with packed leg side field on 11th over of a test match was weird to see from a world class spinner. He kept bowling the same line for pretty much entire test. Whenever he bowled right line, it looked much better and batsmen were in two minds.

Any reasons you reckon he was asked to bowl that line?

The fact that we had no fifth bowler probably played on Misbah's mind too much and he wanted to use Yasir as a holding option which was a poor move. I understand why he started with it but when the batsmen were milking him easily and when we badly needed wickets why did he persist with the same tactics?

Obviously captain used him as a stock bowler to bowl defensively for the entire test match. It made no sense for him to bowl that way for entire test match starting from 11th over in the test match. He was just following the instructions.

Yes the run-out was a bit sloppy, but this was also after he stuck it out and put on 60 odd runs with Shafiq, in the process scoring a personal best. Have to give him a hell of a lot of credit for that.

Commentators also picked up on something about his backing up when Shafiq hit a straight drive that smashed the stumps at the non strikers end. Hopefully he learns from these things as he seems he could be a more than useful bat.

But lets not kid ourselves, although a disappointing and anti-climatic way to get out, 40 runs to get with Rahat at the other end was not going to happen. He probably realised that and tried to be overly aggressive as a result, which contributed to his dismissal.

Does not warrant any serious criticism, he is after all in the team for his bowling.

But yes as far as that is concerned, very bizarre tactics indeed! He is a strike bowler and should be used as such [by Misbah]!

Tbh i cant forgive him for that runout. He looked so uninterested after shafiq's dismissal. He seemed to have given up.

Run out doesn't matter. Game was over and he did far more than expected.

Bowling could have been better.

The runout mattered. Game wasnt over. This is a defeatist attitude. You will never hear this from an aussie that it didnt matter.

Yasir is much capable with the bat and he could have went on for a while and stretched the game longer. If he would have been bowled or caught behind , nobody would have raised a finger. Its the way he got out which was deplorable.

The runout was a lack of professionalism and a lack of care. I would be embarrassed as a school kid if I got run out like that.

Same Aussies decided to bat again. Let's not talk about their mindset these days. :))

I was giving a realistic point of view.

The way he got out was awful. Was it enough to downplay his entire batting performance and ignore that he's a tailender? No.

He did his part and then some. His bowling performance deserves criticism cause he did show up as a batsman.

That's all I am getting at.

Bowling - Misbah's dumbfound tactics

Batting - all good till Shafiq's dismissal when he became so nervous he forgot to come back to the crease. Can happen in pressure situation. No worries.

He bowled very well actually and could have ended up with four or five wickets in the first innings, if his catches were taken. Warne lashed out on him for the plan that he was bowling to but all the Australian commentators were also praising him for his bowling to right handers.

With Rahat having a poor game and leaking runs, Shah stepped up admirably and controlled the RR well on a first day, Gabba wicket. The run out was a non-issue. The game was lost by then but yeah, he should be more aware while batting from now on.

He should do a lot better in Sydney, Melbourne as they are spin friendly. I just hope Misbah doesn't encourage negative tactics this time as well.
