It's all over the news being International Yoga day.
I can understand if some people want to sit with their legs crossed thinking spiritual thoughts but when people suggest yoga has health benefits it's hard to believe. I've played sports all my life from martial arts, boxing, football, cricket, athletics and never has any of my trainers suggested I use yoga for stretching or for any other health/fitness purpose.
I'm not expert on yoga but from some of the techniques I've seen it's just a fast track to injury. Sure some positions within yoga will help your body but these can be achieved by accepted methods within the sports science world.
Why bother bending your neck or lower back which will likely cause injury?
An interesting article.
