Correct me if i am wrong but dravid done it in 10 test nations?

YK 34th Test Hundred!

Take a bow YK!!!

Test hundreds in all Test playing nations (11 countries now)

What a knock and a brilliant hundred overseas.

Our greatest ever Test batsman!

Player with 100s in most countries:
11 YOUNIS KHAN
10 R Dravid, M Yousuf, M Jayawardene, K Sangakkara

was put up in one of the sites.

England, Australia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, New Zealand, U.A.E, South Africa and West Indies?

That makes 10, which is the 11th ??

I guess you missed his 200 in Zimbabwe?

Good on Wasim for predicting this,he rightly predicted YK scoring a century and Ian Chappell lol!

He got 6 scores of 200+ and 5 of them are in different countries.

267 in Ind
218 in Eng
213 in UAE
200* in Zim
200* in Ban

He saved our face there or we were going to lose a series in Zim :))

Haha yes :yk2

Out of his doubles, the 267 in India to help us square the series in Bangalore, was majestic.

Really was the turning point for him.

He's never looked back (more or less :P ) since then.

Congrats!

One of the grittiest batsmen I've seen. His technique isn't perfect and a bit flawed but almost his entire career is made out of sheer grit and determination.

Insignificant however it may be, considering the security situation in Pakistan, it's not an easy record to beat.

If I am not wrong, Dravid doesn't have a 100 in UAE and thats because he didn't play any tests/hardly any there?

Problem is even if Pakistan was safe, then UAE wont be a venue anymore. So only a Pakistani batsman had a realistic chance of having this record as they are more likely to have had played both in UAE and Pakistan

Face saving innings for FTB. Regardless of this knock, he has been thoroughly exposed this year overseas. It must be quite insulting for players like Miandad and Inzamam when people call Younis Pakistan's greatest. ATG? I'd laugh that off.

Anyway, hoping he gets to ten thousand runs in this game so we're finally done with him.

The record is abot scoring a century in every country you played in. I guess only Dravid, Sanga and he have done that

Surprisingly Tendulkar didnt score a century in Zimbabwe despite 4 tests otherwise he would have had this unique honor too

Good point, younis bhai will be in the record books forever :yk ...

Though maybe in the next decade or two another nation will be promoted to test status and will open up that possibility.

Or batsmen who have already played in UAE and scored century there. I guess a very small sample set though because not many away team centuries in UAE anyways

I guess record should be about scoring a century in every country you played in

Let's suppose international cricket returns to Pakistan, then someone like Williamson who already have a century in UAE can complete the set.

Yousuf doesn't hv a century in South Africa though he came very close to score 1 when he toured them last.

He is a second player to achieve that then. Sanga, I guess don't have a ton in WI.

Meh... YK is way ahead of Inzi as far as Tests are concerned.
Inzi struggled home and away against quality attacks. YK has at least held his own at home

Dravid didn't do it in the UAE. Not that this particular feat matters all that much.

Younis Khan has now established himself as a bonafide ATG batsman. He has joined the league of Dravid and Sangakkara from the Asian ATGs.

1) Sachin
2) Miandad/Gavasker
3) Gavasker/Miandad
4) Sangakkara
5) Younis
6) Dravid

Who would be your top five Asian test batsmen?

Legend. Let's hope he can get those 60 runs he needs to make it seven 200+ scores.

I don't rate Inzi as a ATG either but a very good batsman. His record in Aus/SA is not the best.

Congrats but he's not Pakistan ATG Javad inzy yousef was miles batter then him

Younis is a great batsman, but it's a stretch to call him as an ATG.

Just below for mine.

Its a terrific achievement.

Already people are gumbling about the fact its a ton in a dead rubber.

Yet this is only the second of his 34 Test hundreds to come in a dead rubber Test.

So many countries still left to make a century in:

1. Wales
2. Antigua
3. Barbados
4. Guyana
5. Trinidad and Tobago
6. Saint Lucia

I'm missing some other Caribbean countries too. :P Great effort Younis Khan. Great batsman.

What's the other one?

England 2012?

What an achievement at the age of 43.

A player who wasn't gifted. A player who struggled so hard to even make it to domestic cricket. A player who was sent home from trials because his runner's were not standardised and were torn aswell. A played who used to come to practice through the fear of bullets of old Khi days of late 80's early 90's. A player with limited skillset went this far and made it to the record books.

Well done Younis Khan.

Nobody ever though 10 years ago that this will happen.

A Pakistani great, probably one of our top 5 bats, and the best statistically.

I called out that he would score one big innings in any one of the matches, and I had a feeling it would come at Sydney.

I was thinking he should retire immediately after the Australia tour, but if him and Misbah both retire together,it would cause too big a hole in the middle order.YK can play the next year, and Misbah should retire immediately.YK should retire after the SL series in the UAE in October.

I think if aren't playing against India this year than Younis at max needs to leave after West Indies tour unless He is made a captain with Sarfraz or Asad as his under study for 1 year. It's unlilely given Khan loses it very badly off the field.

We will be needing him only to counter great threat of Ashwin.

Otherwise He is too old now and no point in hanging around needlessly.

Well wrt elegance, style ie playing attractive innings I will definitely pick Saeed, Yousuf & Inzamam over Younis but wrt contribution in Tests won by Pakistan, wrt 3rd and 4th innings performances, wrt better consistency over a long time and wrt overall Test number I will definitely pick Younis ahead of all I saw and ahead of Miandad, Hanif, Zaheer aswell given the individual records Younis has on which Strike Rate & WebGuru have 7-8 threads I guess.

So for me weighing all things Younis definitely is the greatest ever Test batsman produced by Pakistan. I have no doubts. I admit talent and skillwise he was and is inferior to Saeed, Yousuf and Inzamam. But his achievements are bigger.

Ok thank you, now please retire

+1

He trolls everyone by performing in the last match of every series again and again just when everyone starts calling for his head.

Fair enough, but interesting to note that you have chosen Asad as a choice for captain.Does he have any captaincy experience?Doesn't strike me as captaincy material tbh.

Well if Imad would have been a Test class player which he is not he would have been my choice. I saw him Captain in a domestic T20 tournament and He stood out. He has good leadership qualities, is relatively educated, pro-active in the field, has good attitude with fellow players and most importantly he is a good tactician.

Asad has Captained in few clubs matches. I have seen him Captain in few televised matches. Though he wasn't very pro-active but he is quite intelligent in his field placings and making changes. So he could be better option than Azhar who I think is very very poor as a tactician.

Azhar is the 2nd worst captain I have seen in our current setup with Kamran Akmal as worst.

I hope he improves as a leader and as a tactician but its highly unlikely.

Let's see if Pcb offers captaincy to Sarfraz or Younis or to Azhar ¿ Since Azhar is best performer by a huge margin so it looks like He will be made Captain after Misbah retires.

Amazing to see all of those South Asian names in the list! Will put to bed this theory of Asians only capable of scoring runs in the Sub continent conditions!

Azhar is a bad captain, undoubtedly.Sarfraz will be the best choice as captain, but his performance isn't upto the mark.

Younus is a legend no doubt, one of Pakistan's best ever batsmen. However his time in the international arena is up and he should call it a day.

most centuries by a Pakistani, most runs by a Pakistani, highest average, tremendous longevity, scored around the world...

sure he's had some lean patches and struggles in the last few years, but there's no question he is at worst a top 3 Pakistani batsmen of all time

In my opinion second only to Miandad- you can go either way on that too

Fantastic achievement  a moments silence for all the narrow minded criticism

Why do you say that?

Sami and Babar clearly need more time, Asad is flaky, Misbah is finished

Younis is unquestionably the 2nd best Pakistani batsmen, even in his decline. I think Pakistani test lineup still desperately needs Younis

I still believe some of the criticism he recieves is very fair. I am shocked not to see more centurions from the Pakistan team on this track, I believe even Sohail Khan can probably get to a hundred considering how well the Aussies batted on it. So YK scoring a Hundred every time when its expected and pretty much easy considering the track shouldnt be considered as his way of replying to his critics.

Asad Shafiq and Azhar Ali have made contributions that are far more valuable and at a time of sincere need, these are the type of performances that are expected from YK who seems to go missing when really needed.

Great Job YK!

No one is gonna break this record. That's not a opinion considering the security concerns in Pakistan, if the ban isn't lifted no one will be able to break the record unless there is someone currently playing who has a hundred in Pakistan.

Right up there with the best batsmen Pakistan has produced.

West Indies will be a tricky series (they wont be a push over at home), and Pak will need some experience if they are to win there for the first time.

I would definitely want him for the WI series.

Also the most hundreds in the fourth innings.

Not as talented as Big Inzy or Mohammad Yousuf but but with remarkable longevity and consistency. He sure had his weaknesses but like most good batsmen he made most of the good days to cover up for that.

Technically not the best or the most talented, but boy did he work hard and put a price on his wicket.

Put in the hard yards throughout his career and ended with a fantastic record.

Yet people have issues with him being in charge of our U16, U19, Academies and A teams. Our younger lot will benefit massively from learning from him.

Honestly, very strong claim for ATG status. The only argument that comes up against Yoni bhai is that was he as compact against quality pace bowling attack because he never really played that kind of bowling attack at his peak outside the slow and dry wickets of UAE.

But he definitely found a way of scoring runs although not consistently though.

Criminally under rated, he was Pak's biggest match winner in Tests and contrary to popular belief he was the most instrumental in key overseas wins when you look at his average

It's criminal how he doesn't get the respect he deserves on PP.

After Misbah's time is up, Younis Khan should take over, if PCB are reluctant to bring an overseas coach.

YK may not have an MBA, but when it comes to cricketing IQ, YK's is levels above Misbah in this regard. People forget that the YK actually has a good cricketing brain and this was evident during the 2009 WT20 and 2009 CT.

I’ve been on the forum since 2007 and everything is agenda based. True lovers of the game don’t feel the need to respond to every dumb post here. Younis has been our best batsman since Javed.

He scored a big ton in 2006 in england too

He has ton against starc and co in australia and steyn etc in south africa

Younis Khan was more than decent against pace swing and bounce

Indeed, unfortunately favourites and dislikes are prioritised over the fortunes of the side. We then wonder why the country cannot flourish when we are infested with such toxic individuals.
