So who is your favourite all-time left-handed cricketer?

Andy Flower. Not the greatest, but my personal favorite.

Brian Lara and Wasim Akram - two of the greatest in history

For sheer elegance or poetry in motion amongst batsmen David Gower who took grace to the height of divinty. As a pure entertainer amongst batsmen Adam Gilchrist who could set a stadium on fire. For pure genius as a batsmen Brian Lara and as a bowler Wasim Akram. However as a cricketer overall it was Gary Sobers who had all-round cricketing ability of mythical proportions taking cricketing art to another height.

1.Gary Sobers
2.David Gower
3.Wasim Akram/Brian Lara
5.Adam Gilchrist.

How do you like this list in order ?

My top 10 in particular order:

1. Lara
2. Wasim
3. Gilly
4. Haydos
5. Yuvi
6. Andy Flower
7. Gayle
8. Jayasurya
9. Starc
10. Alan Mullaly/Zak

Surprised no love for Saeed Anwar on this thread so far. Would definitely make my personal top three lefties -

Lara, Anwar, Akram

Honorable mention for Sangakarra, Gilchrist, Bevan, Hussey

Spot on analysis and full agreement on the players.
I saw Sobers in the 73 tour of England— a wonderful batsman.
Over all the time I have watched cricket (nearly fifty years) no one approached the grace of Gower. A beautiful player to watch.

An all-time test XI with left-hand handers:-

Hayden
Smith
Sangakkara
Pollock
Lara
Sobers
Gilchrist(wkt)
Davidson
Wasim
Starc
Boult

My favorite left handers in cricket:
1. Gary Sobers (best cricketer ever)
2. Wasim Akram
3. Kumar Sangakara
4. Brian Lara
5. Lance Klusener

While you see quite a few left handers who belong to the elite club of batsman, Wasim Akram is the only left armer who belongs to the elite club of bowlers.

When it comes to batting then Lara and Sobers. Sobers was the best batting all-rounder of all-time. Kallis is the second best batting all-rounder.

Gilchrist is the best wicket-keeper batsman of all-time and he was left-handed.

Imran Khan is the best bowling all-rounder of all-time.

When it comes to bowling then Wasim Akram. Lots of left-hand bowlers these days. However, Akram was the best I have seen. Davidson was good too.

So who is your favourite all-time left-handed cricketer?

Insult for greats that there is one among them only bcz his board is powerful. Spineless ICC

Mitch Johnson is also not a great. So overrated! Could only deliver on bouncy tracks. Starc is a better left arm bowler than him.

Gilchrist; a must-have in any one’s all-time Test or ODI XI.

1. Saeed Anwar. Nobody's better in elegance!
2. Wasim Akram
3. Adam Gilchrist

Brian Lara is my favorite left-handed batsman.

Wasim Akram is my favorite left-handed bowler.

Sanga is so underestimated its barely believable. Gilly smashed 150 in a world. Wasim won u guys a world cup in an over. But lara in rhythm was beyond human. He invoked awe. Test matches, against the greatest ever austalian side on his own, stringing partnerships with the tail against mightiest of odds when he was fading , for me nothing bigger has been accomplished on a pitch.

From that ICC list my fav is Wasim and Shakib
Outside of it Saeed Anwar
