Your reaction if Pakistan falls short in the Semi-Final or Final of the T20 World Cup 2021?

Lets face it, the likes of England and Australia and even India have a better side than us. It would be foolish to write them off. Man to Man these guys have more destructive batsmen and bowlers in their teams. Pakistan imo has over achieved in this T20 WC and were helped by being in a weaker group.

If god forbid the team falls short in the semi final or final against the heavily favoured sides like England, Australia and India. What will our reaction be?

Hurt where we start bashing the players, coaches and the PCB?

A non-hurt, non surprised feeling where we will be like the team over achieved given its actual ability?

Indifferent?
 
They have done really well, as there are 3-4 teams better than them in this WC in terms of skill level.

I’m proud of how this team has played in this WC.
 
I’ll be upset over the loss but would get over it. We’ve played well are unbeaten, beat India in a WC game, I’m happy with the performance so far. But, I want to see us win it from here, at this point that’s what will give me the real satisfaction. We can do it.
 
I’d be disappointed if we don’t make it to the final.

Beating India and New Zealand isn’t enough. Got to beat at least one more major nation.
 
Honestly Pakistan will win it and do it convincingly...remember very few. gave Pakistan or considered Pakistan to do so well.

Australia are peaking at the right time especially the opening batters, if we get them cheaply we stand a good chance because Hazlewood, Starc and Cummins will test our batsmen. Coming into the tournament with what happened with Misbah, Waqar, Wasim Khan, then The pullouts of NZ and England considering all the turmoil I feel we have done well with the two wins over NZ and India.
 
The tournament has been a success. Respectfully losing in the semi's to an Australia or England will be no disgrace.
 
Shaheen and Rauf need to charge in and look to blast out the batsmen
 
I am desperate for PK to win and IA, we will but even if we don't, I am happy with the performances of PK. We have shown that we are no ones walkover.
 
Beating India with ten wickets is something they will always remember and I don't think India can ever do what Pakistan did against India.
 
I’d be proud of the boys for playing brilliantly as they have. You win sometimes and you lose sometimes. Just hoping for good entertainment!

Let's not gloat. The Indian U19 team beat Pakistani U19 team in the WC by ten wickets chasing 176
 
I expect the team to finish on top but even if they don't, they have already achieved a whole lot:

1. Ended India's mauka mauka streak with such a pummeling that it left them scarred for the next game against New Zealand.

2. Became the only team so far to have qualified on points alone and not NRR (NZ might be the second if they beat Afghans)

3. The only team in the tournament to have won every single match in the group stage.

4. The emergence of Shaheen and Rizwan as world-class superstars (E.g. Boult saying he hopes to mirror Shaheen's performances). Babar was already known as one

5. Rauf, Shadab and Asif Ali's return to form

6. Babar's evolution as the leader of the pack. And him transferring his mature, sensible and professional mindset to the whole team.

7. Reignited the cricketing passion of millions of Pakistanis

Lastly, Pakistan has finally re-emerged as a world-class team feared by all the top sides of the game.
 
Are the grounds not decided for SF.

Surely its odd they should know who is playing who ie winner of a vs runner up of b and which ground.

In t20, pak are one of best. 5 sf visits out of total 7.
 
If the other team plays well on that given day Pakistan can lose . If they want to win a tournament they need to beat big teams , you cannot win tournament easily.

Think we have to perform like this overseas to re emerge as a top side everything was in our favour here.

Australia are coming into form and in a high scoring match would definitely be favourites to win in a low scoring match it’s more close with conditions in our favour.

I disagree that Austrlia are a better side than Pakistan.Pakistan have a better bowling side than England.
 
I would be really disappointed as I believe Pakistan are favourites against Australia and should win.
 
I would be fine with Pakistan losing in Semi or Final as they performed better than I expected. However if India makes it to the Final and Pakistan would lose to them, then that would be devastating.
 
They're no doubt a top 3 side but I don't think Pakistan are the best team in this tournament. But they seem to be energised and passionate to win this tournament after what happened with the NZ and Eng pullout. The last time they looked like this was during the 2017 CT and I don't think Pakistan was necessarily the best team in that tournament either.

Fact is, Pakistan when it plays with passion and emotion, can overcome even sides with superior skill to it like say England and I think this may well end up happening this tournament too. Even if it doesn't happen, at least they would've played better than what many would've expected at the start.
 
Pakistan team did well far more than expected by beating Ind and NZ. Even we were lucky to beat Afg, thanks to Asif Ali. Australia is better than us in every department. We need to play Nawaz in place of spray gun Hasan. Rauf is an average bowler but did well in this tournament. We cannot dominate Australia with 3 fast bowlers in spin pitch. Both Maxwell and Zampa are better than Shadab and Imad. Also our fast bowler are no match to Stark, Hazzle and Cummins.

India is already out of tournament so don't worry about it .now prepare for Australia and England game .
 
Pakistan needs to lose to Scotland today. Otherwise, it seems very unlikely they'll win every possible match in a tournament.

Afg can beat NZ. Also don’t forget think we can beat Aus in semi. So 3 of Sena teams will be in semi or 2 Sena teams will be final on spin friendly pitches mean Asian teams failed miserably to take advantage of spin friendly pitches.

Exactly it will be blessing disguise for us. Apart from India matches all other matches were close.

I have a bad feeling about the New Zealand/ Afghanistan match. Will feel much better after I see the Kiwis win.

And its the players job to prepare for the Australia match, not the fans.
 
I will take the pakistan loss easily given the group stage performance and win against India. Relative to our side compared to others and all the issues coming in with coaches, selection, tram pull outs etc.
However, I do not want that to be at hands of India in final or India to even make it to semi or final after all the BCCI/Indian arrogance.

Who's the best team in the tournament ?
 
I hope that Pakistan comes back with the trophy and nothing less.

We are in a very advantageous position to look at how we will take on Australia. They've finished their final game and we have one to go, so it should be about maximizing our play-time and ticking all the boxes.

Against Scotland, I would let Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Hafeez open the innings, followed by Malik, Imad, Asif, Shadab, etc.

Once we tick all the boxes, there's nothing else we can do from a preparation point of view.

Then it all comes down to the team that has more determination and plays in a professional manner. No misfields, no missed chances, and high match awareness.
 
I have been saying pakistan were favorites in uae and then india, and it's happened the same.

You just cannot discount a decade of experience playing in slow UAE pitches. If you see they understand the pitch behavior and batting and bowling adjusts accordingly.

Team with stroke makers and aggressive at top have not succeeded.
Most teams figured out strategy a bit late and those who did are in semis.

I don't understand this over achieved feeling. This is what lesser teams should say not supporter of team which has won 2 world cups and favorites to win in this conditions. Pakistan has decade of experience in uae !!!

So let me get this,

So pakistan win world cup, it's a great achievement above all odds.
Pakistan lose world cup, again call victim, saying its due to other teams they are at odds.

Like to be in shoe of a pakistan cricketer, absolutely no pressure .

Compare this to a Indian cricketer where anything less than a cup win is failure. That's pressure..
 
Most of the Indian fans here will be disappointed if Pakistan fails to win the World Cup because they were putting Pakistan ahead of India as favorites. Whether they believed it genuinely or were just trolling Pakistani fans is another thing. :inti
 
I hav maintained much before the wc started that india won't get to finals whatsoever and pakistan has a solid chance to win the cup. But at this point I feel that pakistan will be defeated by Australia unless Pakistan is lucky to win the toss and bowls first and restricts Australian to under 145. As you can see too many ifs now. On the reasonably big ground of Dubai, scoring against the Australia pace trio won't be easy. Plus india missed a trick by not selecting leg spinner against pakistan whereas Australian has a very good one in zampa and Pakistan has traditionally struggled against leg spinners in big matches.
 
Will be upset if we lose in SF because to with 5 victories and still not made the final it will be disappointing

Making most semi finals in T20 world cups is good.
However, want to beat Eng so Badly. So I hope Pak vs End Final.

I think india takes that title for the biggest choke, doctoring pitches and schedules here and in the international calendar to ensure india had the best preparations, then getting absolutely hammered by their biggest rival.

Let’s be realistic out of the 4 teams, pak probably the weakest, they are due a bad game and will probably come up against a even better Aussie team, as long as we don’t fold like we did in 1999 and put up a fight then that’s all we can ask for
 
It will be disappointing to lose it, but as long as we show some heart and fight I can take it. I would be much more disappointed if we just didn't turn up at all.
 
Pakistan have been brilliant this tournament, beating India they way we did and beating New Zealand was amazing. Give it a fight and try hard - if we lose we lose. I don't see us losing though
 
It's Pakistan's cup to lose but even if we lose the semis I am proud of the effort that has been put in by the boys.

This Pakistan team should have been the most favourite for this WC if they had get their openers right in the squad (Sharjeel & Fakhar). They are covered in all other areas. Anyway cricket is a game of chance, anything can happen.
 
Reaction: well done to the team that beats Pakistan, and we’ll done Pakistan for reaching the semis when most would like me gave them no chance a month or so ago.

I just don't wanna be one of those "I told you so" mama ji, IF God forbids we lose because we bat first with an unchanged team and end up scoring a low total that we won't be able to defend in dew.

Lets hope we win the toss and put them into bat.

However, if we lose the toss and we are to bat first with an unchanged side, then May God help us.
 
I won't be surprised if we lose to Aus in the SF. I think the team has already overachieved.

Here are a few things that I predict to go wrong for Pak in the SF v Aus:

1. Costly No-Balls: so far we have bowled 10 no-balls in 5 games. Yes, they have costed us nothing but still, this could be criminal in SF vs a big team

2. Slow PP: I love Babar and Riz. And they both should open. But I think if one of them don't play the aggressor role in PP, then we won't be able to post a big total (Asif, Malik, Hafeez cannot always come to rescue)
 
No doubt there will be a few on here throwing their toys of the pram but I will be philosophical about it. We have performed well, the team has played with a good spirit and with unity. If it's not meant to be this time then so be it - learn from the mistakes and be better next year in Australia.
 
It's more a question of whether best to bow out in Semi or have heartbreak of a Final defeat
 
If PCT wins the toss and loses it would be disappointing otherwise going down with a fight would be praiseworthy unlike ICT .
 
To expect victory is guaranteed in a 20 over match v a world class outfit like Aussies is silly. Aussies are peaking and it is a 50-50 game if not slightly in favour of Aussies due to them peaking now.

Pakistan have had a great tournament and re-emerged as a world class outfit. And they have annihilated India! So I would be disappointed of course but winning and losing is part of sport. I hope we accept defeat with grace and dignity and not go on a blame trip/make excuses. I hope Pakistan build from this. The Aussie tour in March is great news. A revamped domestic structure that should reap benefits in a few years - things are looking up for Pak cricket.

No team has played in uae compared to other teams. A decade of playing in UAE is helping pakistan.

I think most here were putting pakistan as favorites from the start of tournament.
Now it's just a case of winning 2 more tosses and win it all.
 
We are winning this thing :) . So I don't want to dwell upon my reaction if we lose!
 
I would be very unhappy. Half the team should be kicked out and new players debuted. Bashing a mediocre indian side, clueless against spin NZ and minnows is not an achievement we should be content with.
 
I would be incredibly sad and disappointed, but I would still be able to recognize that they played some brilliant cricket, that winning and losing is part of the game, and that sometimes its just not your day.

Still let's hope it doesn't come to that and we go all the way.

If Pakistan lose then calls for your buddy Sharjeel to be selected will grow louder. Already some ex cricketers are puzzled why he was not selected for this WC as he makes the team on merit.

Sharjeel is a joke and selecting him would be a slap to the face of every cricketer on the professional circuit who isn't a corrupt one-dimensional hack with egregious fitness levels.

If the selectors want to go ahead and metaphorically slap every one of those cricketers than they are welcome to do so.

Well thank the lord that our current chairman has a spine and doesn't accept overweight fixers back in the team. Anyway's I haven't heard one ex cricketer even bring up the name of Sharjeel, even here in Australia most cricketing analyst have been praising the work done by Babar and Rizwan.

You are a good poster but this is a foolish comment, to say the least. Not a good side? Tell that to the two bowlers bowling in the 150s with one of them swinging it upfront. Tell that to the MOTM of the CT. Tell that to the No.1 ranked batsman in ODIs and T20Is. Tell that to the best WK in the world.
