This is going to be my side and I will stick with it for the home season including NZ:

Abdullah
Imam
Huraira
Babar
Saud
Rizwan
Mubasir
Zafar
Hassan
Naseem
Abrar

If Naseem is injured then bring Abbas or take a punt with Waseem.

We are not going to be world beaters with this XI, but it will will improve the current side by quite a bit.

Imam is a walking wicket out side of Pindi, Your better off Trying Huraira as an opener and Kamram Ghulam as middle order batsmen, Rizwan is very lucky to still be in test side also.

Abrar is a good find. Possibly the most threatening spinner since peak Yasir Shah and Saeed Ajmal.

Yes in an ideal world but we are not living in one. Imam will be this generation Farhat, Hameed just bear with him.

Pretty good but Hasan Ali hasn’t rediscovered his zip as yet. Mir hamza and M umer were the best pacers in the domestic season, give one of them a go.

I like the balance faheem provides would keep him instead of introducing Mubasir just yet.

And I agree with others - send Imam packing and open with huraira.

Imam ? Not sure what value he adds. Send Hurraira to open and get the best domestic middle order batter not in the XI. Also Hasan Ali won't do much. Although I'm not sure there are too many options in terms of bowling.

Play whatever you want , it does not seem to make any differnce , the brand of cricket England is playing is beyond Pakistan reach.

So my question to the team management is do they think they have four Bradman in the side hence going into 2nd test with only 4 "proper" batsman plus a decent bat in their wicketkeeper? In Test's normally a side will play between 5 to 6 proper batsman plus a wicketkeeper but somehow our think tank believes that we are so good in batting that we can only go with 4 genuine (I use genuine word loosely for Pakistan) batsman????? What is the role of Nawaz in this setup? Does Pakistan not have a batsman better than him in the team??? Maybe we are not good enough to defeat England in Pakistan but we can't lose even before the start of the game......

The brand of cricket England play has holes that we can exploit provided we wish to do so.

they should send in the blind team, i am sure those Guys will play with more intent and skill...

Many players chosen by op are not even in squad.
Ideally Naseem need to come back for Ali and Zahid need to be replaced by another pacer.

This series is more about development now.

It's not all negatives. I think they've found two good talents - Abrar Ahmed and Saud Shakeel. They can add them to their long-term roster and continue to work on their skill set.

1. Abdullah Shafique
2. Imam Ul Haq
3. Babar Azam (C)
4. Saud Shakeel
5. Specialist Batsman
6. Mohammad Rizwan
7. All-Rounder
8. Naseem Shah
9. Shaheen Afridi
10.Specialist Spinner/Fast Bowler (depends on the pitch)
11. Abrar Ahmed

This is the outline they have to work with.

Lots of decent pieces are there but others will need to be worked on. Right now the squad doesn't have much to test in Karachi because the pieces sitting out are useless for long-term purposes (i.e. Nauman, Wasim, Sarfraz).

In the next series, they need to bring on new talent to see what can be added to the roster. Maybe bring on guys like Mubasir, Huraira, and Ghulam with an eye toward the long term.

Hassan Ali ? replacing one useless trundler ( Faheem ) with another one ?
