Favourite 'Only Fools and Horses' episode?

i know we have many fans of the show on here and i wanted to know what peoples best episode was.
mine is the"jolly boys outing" episode, this is where del organises the trip with all the regulars to margate but the great thing is the trip is full of funny diasasters such as when rodney kicks a football at the policemen and gets arrested, the bus blows up due to the dodgy radio del has supplied, also denzil and his ear infection and finally when they have to find a room for the night and they do but it is the worst hotel there and they smash a window while they are there.
Also rodney punches a bank employee of his wife's at the end of the episode.

The one i really enjoy watching is the chistmas special when they went to miami and dellboy got mistaken for a mob boss.

For me it has to be "Peckham Springs"

The one where Del boy sell Tap water as Mineral water.... and they become millionaires...

i do like the mafia episode hilarious also in that episode del sells white wine to the church instead of the customory red wine.

:))):)))Without a doubt my favourite episode that one. I love it when they show them filling up the water from the taps then putting it straight into boxes. Right at the end too when they put the light off and the water glows yellow:))).

Another one of my favourites is when albert falls down the pub celllar and goes to court over it. At court though there are about 10 other times albert has done it to get some money:))).

for me my favourite comidies were the fresh prince of bel air and only fools and horses and father ted

funny as ****

i also liked the simpsons old episodes they are alson funny hate the new ones

the batman and robin one was the best, especially when they accidentally scared off those muggers. I almost died laughing!

:))):))):)))I love it when Rodney runs after that mugger and then gets run after himself. While he's doing that del tries to keep up :))):)))

I loved the Xmas special where they go to Florida for a holiday and get mistaken for some Mafia bosses - hilarious as usual!

There are too many - it is my fave comedy show :)):)):))

Batman and Robin is a classic, i loved it!

The Chandelier episode is priceless (especially since they only had one take to do it in)

When they accidently bring a rich sheikhs son into the country, they think he is an illegal immigrant "GARRRRY" -

Where they go on holiday and Rodney has to pretend he is 15 :)))

Also loved the part Merc just said.

Classic!

I couldent possibly choose, they all have me in fits. Just watched the one where rodney dates a police officer and bring her back to the flat. "You Whalley Brain".

batman and robin, chandelier, millionaires, peckham spring, safety helmet for sikh doctors..too many.

I like the episode with Boycie's E-type Jaguar when Del and Rodney go to a gay club and try to chat up "a couple of geezers". They then go to another club and find 2 women and continue to embarrass themselves.

i also like the famous episode where del and trigger are in a bistro and del eyes up a women and says "play it cool trig play it cool and then falls over .

"Allright Dave?"

David Jason sorry for Pakistani radio joke

David Jason has apologised for cracking a joke about Pakistanis on a live radio show.

Jason, 69, made the gaffe while appearing as a phone-in guest during the Christian O'Connell Breakfast Show on Absolute Radio.

During the Who's Calling Christian feature - in which celebrities call in for a chance to win £20,000 for charity - O'Connell asked Jason for a question for the next guest.

The Only Fools and Horses star replied: "What do you call a Pakistani cloakroom attendant? Me hat, me coat."

There was a stunned silence before Jason hastily added a question about Ronnie Barker's early career.

The joke was edited out of the show's podcast on the station's website as race groups condemned it.

Mohammed Shafiq, of the Ramadhan Foundation, said: "As a well known and well-loved actor David Jason needs to be careful about what he says."

Jason's spokeswoman said today: "He is really sorry and distressed that the joke upset people."

i dont get tha\ joke

I don't get it either, maybe some english posters can explain?
Is it supposed to sound like Mahatama ...., if so David Jason is loosing it.

Jolly good. I am guessing it means "I'll take your hat and coat" or somehow communicating that the hat and coat has to travel to him ( something like that) but some may have poor English (or maybe normal looking at Me) and might say it like Me Hat. Now Me Hat .... Me Jason ... like saying their name.

The reason why none of us get the joke is that he starts of by saying Pakistani, so naturally we are expecting the punchline to be something Pak related.

Instead he says 'Me Hat, Me Coat'

Which is supposed to be 'Mahatma'

The joke dies - loses any impact because he screws it up!

So how can 'we' be insulted by it - if we dont even understand it!

David Jason - class actor. Just got is wrong. No drama. End of story.

I always laugh out loud at this, one of the funniest scenes:

:))

I love the episode when Rodders brings home a policewoman and then gives her a stolen watch and serves her stolen booze. Priceless!!

What about the Del boy scene when he is clocking a lady and leans over the bar and falls flat on his face....CLASSIC!!!

OFAH is one of the best comedies by the BBC along with Blackadder and Red Dwarf

Absolutely agree. For me, add to the list Dad's Army and 'Allo 'Allo.

Dad's army - maybe, But ALLO ALLO? Oh come on it's idea of humour is that all foreigners speak English but in wierd accents -next you'll be saying Mind Your Language....................actually that is big in Pakistan!

Fawlty Towers, Ripping Yarns (though not strictly a sit-com), Blackadder and The Office probably are some of the finest British TV comedies.

I still watch this programme on a regular basis - everyday - and I still find it genuinely, side-splitting hilarious. Although it is set quite a while back and was produced a while back, I still have great admiration for it because not only are the jokes considerably original and unexpected, the humour is mostly devoid of any innuendo and the programme can be described as clean and pleasant, contrary to the majority of other comedy programmes, which unnecessarily believe that to make people laugh the jokes have to be sickening or related to sexual behaviours in one way or another and as a result the jokes are considerably crude and to some extent, vulgar.

Anyway, despite liking all episodes of the programme, if I was forced to select my most memorable episode it would have to be the ‘Peckham Miracle’ episode, for the hilarious way in which - revealed at the end of the episode – Del Boy causes the Virgin Mary statue to cry. Similarly, another great memorable episode from Only Fools and Horses was the episode entitled Little Problems, in which the Driscoll brothers approach Del Boy and threaten him because of his inability to sell some dodgy phones from them (he never knew that the original owners of the phones were them, people one should never deal with because of their ruthless and brutal style, with extortion being the fundamental feature of their business). The genuinely hilarious moment during this episode occurred when the brothers went searching for Del Boy who was hiding behind a curtain upstairs of the pub. The significantly shorter Driscoll, Danny, and his method of trying to find them was side-splitting, to say the least….

I will not ruin the moment for you though. Watch the episode instead - it is wonderful!

Series 6 is the best. Delboy falling through the bar, the blow-up porn dolls, the 50 gold chains episode, Rodney meets Cassandra but then wins an under-16 holiday competition and Del makes him go on it :))) Brilliant.

Some of the specials were priceless as well, like Jolly Boys Outing, and anyone remember the one where they get the booze from the cash n carry and take home a stowaway? 'Gary!' LOL!

The absolute peak would be the Batman and Robin trilogy where they eventually becomes millionaires. Also home to my favourite scene from the show where they get stuck in a lift. Amazing, emotional acting from the two.

All I say is RIP John Sullivan.

The Gary episode was legendary . Another favourite has to be the one where they paint their mums monument with glow in the dark paint :)) .

An episode that I particularly enjoyed was the one where their ex friend who is now a corrupt and vindictive copper is trying to persuade Del Boy to grass on somebody for theft or he will punish Uncle Albert, Rodney and Del. If Del confesses the name of the thief the policeman will give Delboy immunity and won't charge him with anything. The suspense builds up as Del asks the cop to put the deal in writing and seems to be in anguish as he deals with the inner conflict that is taking place. The viewer is left watching in anticipation as Del Boy squirms in his chair, signs the deal and prepares to mention the name of the theif, which would go against everything he stands for.

For the final time DCI Roy slater asks DelBoy 'Who stole the Microwave' to which a grinning Del Boy triumphantly points to the papers detailing his immunity replies -' I did'

Comedy Gold.

'Trotters taken hostage' is another classic. The line I love is when the posh upper class store manager interacts with the cockney wide boy Del. The store manager is chewing a pen and Del asks him to be careful as he may end up losing his teeth to his habit.

The store manager clearly taken aback replies 'well how do you know that' in a well spoken almost regal accent to which Del with his working class charm replies - 'Coz im going to ram my fist down your throat if you don't pack it in'. :))

I only saw this for the first time last year . Was just fantastic viewing .

One of my favourite episode is the one where they are kept hostage by the 'Shadow'. One of the funniest bit is when Uncle Albert pretends to have a heart attack and nobody reacts, he then picks himself up and carries on like nothing has happened.

Re: Favourite 'Only Fools and Horses' episode?

Yeah, I couldn't understand why people were laughing, I found all the characters annoying.

Its really funny that people like different humour.

Only fools absolutely cracks me up. .. but something like the office is ridiculously boring but others love it.

I only saw the UK version. It wasn't laugh-out-loud funny - just incredibly uncomfortable comedy of manners.

Too many faves. Could probably list them all

Ones that come to the mind straight away
- Gold Chain Gang
- Miami episode
- Peckham Spring
- Sex Dolls
- Diamonds in Amsterdam
- Freddie the Frog
- Locked in supermarket all night
- When Roy Slater as an old school mate
- Psycho killer on the loose
- Chandeliers

Saw a bunch of the best OFAH episodes recently for the first time in years.

*Still* the greatest comedy show of all time.

Way too many great episodes.

All the episodes are repeated again and again except for Pekham Springs, for some reason they never show this episode

The best British comedy series of all time!

The one where they dress up as Batman and Robin is one of my fav.

I like the episodes with the horses. The ones with fools much less so.

Seriously speaking though the term ironically originated in American theatre and basically means only fools and horses would actually work for a living.

Empyrean of comedy.

Cannot be beat for love nor money.

I was watching 'To Hull and back' the other day. In tears and stiches. Ive seen it over 50 times. Before that was 'Danger UXD' and 'Chain Gang'.

Genius writing, characters, and stories. Last few episodes were a bit weak, but Del Boy is etched in the annals of British history and lexicon.

US comedies dont hold a candle.

It remains a work of genius. I have seen all the episodes many times over, but every time I watch them again, they make me laugh.

We British loved the old series of Del and Trotter. That was back in the old days before ayone knew whst LBGQT rights even was.

The only British comedians who make me laugh these days are BAME. Shappi Khorsandi, Omid Djalli, Javanese Prince, Famalan.

The only one I can remeber is that gambling game when that guy in the suit was cheating everyone

1. Del Boy and Dave in Batman and robin. Same episode trigger says he has had the same broom for 20 years, but changed the head and then body 30 times

2. When Delboy falls in the bar

3. Everytime trigger addresses Rodney as Dave

4. When Rodney and Cassandra break up temporarily and Rodney has a date with another girl. Delboy asks uncle Albert to act schocked

I like the last three episodes (the second Christmas trilogy) - they’re not as raucous as some of the best 80s and 90s stuff of course, but underrated nevertheless.

I think one of the most underrated episodes is when Grandad dies, and uncle Albert is not introduced. David Jason acting was amazing when his character Del Boy has an argument with Rodney.

The other episode no one really talks about is Class of 62 when Roy Slater returns! 😆😆😆

Dont forget 'The Skies the limit' when Del Boy buys a satellite dish only to realise it's a radar nicked from the end of Gatwick runway - bringing holiday season to a halt! 😆😆😆

That pretending to be shocked scene is one of the funniest. In fact so funny, David jason is trying to control his laughter.

So, for those of you raised in the UK during 80s (and 90s), what your top 3 OFAH episodes?

I'm struggling:

Sky's the limit.
Class on 92
Danger UXD.
To Hull and Back.
Chain Gang.
Jolly boys outing.
Miami Twice
A losing streak
A touch of glass
Yuppy Love
The unlucky winner is
Yellow Peril

Help me out! Has to be one of the, if not the, greatest British comedies in histories?

The golden era is season 6 onwards imho (until the “original” millionaires ending).

Heroes and Villains and Time on our Hands are difficult to beat for me, so many classic moments. Miami Twice the best of the rest in terms of the Christmas specials, with David Jason showing off his acting chops as the mafia Don.

I also love Danger UXD, Chain Gang and the Unlucky winner from S6.
