This bat is a bit of a long story but it was made by SS for Yuvi. Two seasons a go I was buying a lot of SS bats from the factory and as a Christmas gift Sareen gave me one of Yuvi's bats out of his bin.

This bat has 14 to 15 straight grains and a bit of heartwood and it sings when the ball comes off and is a very long and easy to find middle.

Pick up is fantastic as you would imagine and weighs around 2.10. I received the bat as a blank so I put some Puma stickers on it and I hope you all enjoy it. it.

If there were no heartwood then this bat grains would have been in a competition with CA's :))

Anyways, bat looks lovely! Mind telling the specs and showing profile shot?

Quite nice of SS to give you a free bat!!

I spent thousands with them

Very nice bat can you show picture sideways?

Can I ask what do you do by buying so many bats at once? Is it your business?

I will get some more photos of the bat

I'm not saying anything negative but from the specs the bat is not one of those which we hear "are big, huge, low density cleft etc etc''. Do you think they are as good as the off shelf bats we buy?

I have seen few of Canada's national team players bats (Patel who smashed Brett Lee in the World Cup and Cheema) and to be honest there bats were nothing special. I agree ping is good but other than that everything is exactly same you'd find in off shelf bats.

Oh okay, did you ever buy SG, SF and BAS?

How do you rate SS among other Asians like CA etc?

Thanks what other bats do you havE?

The SCAT and the Amplus are better bats it is that pro bats are pressed to perform not last

Which Newbery have you owned?

I have used Harlequin and would compare the performance in terms of brand rather than brand so I have used it once and it impressed me and they certainly are great bats!

I rate Salix very high too!

Thruxton, GT, Mjolnir all outstanding dont rate Salix as high

I'm not fan of traditional shape bats so don't like Mjolnir (no offence to your bat).

Thruxton in my opinion is the best Newbery bat I'd say.

Oh mate wanted to ask if you buy Newbery SPS will that going to be made by Tim Keeley or Nick?

I think Tim but I will ask Talisman

You don' reallyt ever buy a Newbery made just by Tim, Nick or any of the other guys.

It's a production line, with a lot of the work mechanised. Chances are it'll be pressed by Tim, handled and fed into the machine by Nick and finished by one of the other boys.

I'm sure ive said this 100 times before, but they use a machine. An earlier but similar version to the GM DXM one. Very impressive, and holds about 150 shapes in its memory. So if you ask for a Yuvi shape bat, they just press a button.

Cheers mate.

So only GM and Newbery/Keeley's rand have these sort of machines or someone else also use similar machines.

Its a CNC machine. The most important part of the production of a bat is the pressing. This is overseen by Tim , the rest could ie shaping etc may well be on a machine. I dont think that matters too much tbh, as there are many stock profiles/shapes
