Yep. Even I remember bashing Bennett for his strike rate in that match against Australia. But clearly , they had a plan on how to reach 170 and executed it really well.
 
Zim played against Lanka and Pakistan in last 1 year and wow has come in handy!
Displayed some effort like that of the Late 90s

lol I typed the same before reading yours! Insane how we all respect the older Zim team
 
Very happy for Zimbabwe. I think this is their 2nd best performance in an ICC event.

They also did well in 1999 WC which I think was their best (went to Super Six). They defeated South Africa and India back then.

This one was a bit easy (depleted Australia and declining SL). But, very good effort nonetheless.
 
^ Australia was not depleted in batting though. They were 105/0 after 10 overs and bossing the game against SLA. 181 was a poor return from there. They just did not finish well. Aussies should have scored 210+ from such a strong position, and then it would have been a different ball game altogether as Lankan batsmen would have been forced to take more risks.
 
India will show teams like Aus and SL, how to beat Zimbabwe next thursday. Will anhilate them.

Zimbabwe have punched above their weight in this tournament. Good to see them competing well against top teams.

Bowling was depleted. Massively.

They only had Zampa. Rest were all rookies/part-timers.

If they had the full bowling, Zimbabwe and SL would've likely been bundled out for 140-160.

True but it also just shows that Aussies do not have a quality bench strength in bowling at the moment

They are a surprise package.. it would be silly to underestimate them.
The only thing good is it’s super 8 so every team will be prepared now, this is when it becomes harder to win for lower rank teams.
