Pak-Afgh games are nothing less than any other top rivalry games.... Pakistan should beat them though...

So 39 off 68 for Ali??

The last match was a really close contest between the two teams. Let's see how this one will be.

I don’t think this Afg U19 side is any good, expecting a one sided game against almost full strength Pak side barring Ali and Seyam.

Looks a nothing player
Abdullah Shafiq 2.0 , A real mental midget this guy is. Got pretty solid technique and can navigate the moving ball pretty well , can play spin and drift as well but always get out soft dismissal , a bit too cautious in his approach and always gets out by playing a half executed unsure looking shot.

Looks a nothing player
Looked assured at the crease doing tuk tuk and wasn't troubling by pace or spin , apart from couple of play n miss and some few mis time shots he wasn't troubled in his innings at all , it just the attacking shot he really afraid of playing and always get double minded whether to go for it or not and always get's out in doing so , today again he played a half hearted lofted cover drive and at the last second he withdraw all the power and resulting in him getting hold out at covers.

Evwn usman khan absorbed so maby deliverys and then got out but atleast captain and others get a go

Afghans pacers are quiet quick and may be as quick as Pak pacers barring Ali Raza.

Farhan bowled by a beautiful pacy delivery.

That is so true you are referring FC all over world as anybody can get in Pak FC
They probably won't get in to even Pak FC with dozens of teams unless some of them have real connections. Like our captain Farhan Yousuf who is nothing more a no.7 slogger type batter and is captaining the side.

This score is too low tbh...239 should be chased if they bat with some brain

Nothing fancy needed

Hes got serious gas on his fuller and good length deliveries which is a rare quality to have in an U19 pacer with wrist still developing plus he can move the ball both ways , too bad he is not accurate enough yet.

He is definitely hurrying the batter and both Afg openers are getting late on their shots.

Definitely no need to play Niqab guy in the Worldcup, we should go with 4 pacers plus train Usman Khan to bowl his leg spin and even train Ali Baloch to bowl some offspin.

This Afghan team look abysmal - not a good sign for the future of Afghan cricket especially since a lot of these guys will be c. 25 years old anyway

And Umer Zeb is hitting them with bouncers , there batters looking clueless against extra pace.

Umer zeb effectively destroyed Afghan batting single handedly as all the batters were scared facing him jumping and bouncing and getting bowled and lbws ,nice 5wkt haul the best spell of genuine pace bowling I have seen at U19 level in years.

Pakistan U19 confirm their place in the final of the tri-series with a commanding 133-run win over Afghanistan U19 at the Sunrise Sports Club in Harare on Friday.

After opting to bat first, Pakistan posted 238 for nine in 50 overs, built around solid contributions from the top order. Sameer Minhas top-scored with a fluent 56, while Usman Khan (43, 59b, 3x4s, 1x6) and Ali Hassan Baloch (39, 68b, 1x4, 1x6) laid a strong foundation.

In turn, Afghanistan were bundled out for 105 in 30.2 overs, as Pakistan’s pace proved too strong. Right-arm fast bowler Umar Zaib led the charge with a match-winning spell, clinching five wickets for 31 runs, including early breakthroughs and key middle-order dismissals. He was adjudged player of the match. Support came from Ahmed Hussain and Momin Qamar – both taking two wickets each.

Earlier in the tournament, Pakistan had edged Afghanistan U19 by one wicket, while their league match against Zimbabwe U19 was washed out after the first innings due to rain.

Pakistan U19 will now face hosts Zimbabwe U19 on 4 January in their final league fixture before meeting the same opponents again in the final on 6 January.

Scores in brief:

Pakistan beat Afghanistan by 133 runs

Pakistan 238-9, 50 overs (Sameer Minhas 56, Usman Khan 43, Ali Hassan Baloch 39; Salam Khan 2-48, Zaitullah Shaheen 2-50)

Afghanistan 105 all out, 30.2 overs (Mahboob Khan 29; Umar Zaib 5-31, Ahmed Hussain 2-2, Momin Qamar 2-26)

Player of the match – Umar Zaib (Pakistan)

Good signs. The 2018 batch with Shaheen Afridi and the one after in 2020 with Abbas afridi often lost to afg with their spinners. This batch and the last one have been pretty good.
Sameer Minhas is the most talented U19 batsman i have ever seen from Pakistan.

Pakistanis used to be at best 23/24 but afg continuously churn out 30 year olds.
But this time all Pakistan players look genuinely U19 apart from the Daniyal guy
A few of them used to be between 19-23 in the past. Now they are genuinely U19.There was a always an odd player who looks older and he may be over 19.Afghans on the other look close to 25.

Age fraud is very common in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India.

Rashid Khan is a prime example

But batting bar usman sameer and ahmed is utter rubbish tbh.
Ali has disappointed me the most and captain himself bats like a tailender
I also expected a lot more from Ali Hasan Baloch, as he was by far the most impressive batsman we had in the u19 domestic tournament, stats-wise comfortably more so than Sameer Minhas, whilst playing the same bowlers that are troubling other nations U19 batsmen.

So when a kid has that much of a disparity between a blazing domestic season and his international performances, it’s purely a mental issue.

Today was an improvement, in that he atleast didn’t get out early. But the team management have to continue working on his mental approach, including committing to his shots and playing without the weight on his shoulders. It’s never a good sign when a batsmen gets caught in two minds, but it’s also a very fixable issue via coaching and a focussed mindset.

Look, player development is rarely linear, especially for guys at his age, one who’s just turned 19.

Ultimately we are not blessed with multiple promising young batsmen, especially at age group level, thus we have to make maximise the returns from the few that we do have. This kid has a lot of the skills to impact the game (quick hands etc) and maybe is one impactful innings away from finding himself. InshAllah I really hope he does and maximises his talent.

Because there really is nothing like a Pakistani batting talent full filling their potential, given how rarely it happens…

He looked assured at crease today and wasn’t getting trouble by any bowler until he played that half executed shot.
