Zimbabwe should be awarded an extra 100 runs for surviving the no.1 Test team bowling attack! :misbah

"When I had the operation the doctor told me that because I was a young man, he would not tell me to stop playing sport, but he also said that if I got hit again, there was a good chance I won't survive."

Chilling as that is, it's only the prologue. "I actually wouldn't mind dying on the cricket field," Vermuelen said. "I know it sounds a little sadistic but I've thought about it and I just love cricket so much that it wouldn't be that bad. Obviously I hope it doesn't happen but…"

Pretty ballsy to face up to Johnson, Morkel, Steyn and Starc in a tri series

It seems on current form, Zimbabwe > India in Tests.

What I've learnt is that winning a test match IN against Zimbabwe is an achievement in itself. Since 2011 when Zimbabwe returned to Test Cricket, at home all their matches thus far have been really close and competitive. Beat Bangladesh and series against them in 3 test matches were neck and neck, narrowly lose to Pakistan twice and also beat them, came so so close to beating New Zealand and so far made a fight against world number 1 SA on day 1.

Obviously SA should win this with ease but if this can go on to the 4th day at least then Zimbabwe should be really proud.

Dale Steyn has equaled Ntini's haul of 380 wickets, and joint 2nd leading wicket taker for SA in tests.

Its a spinning pitch and Zimbos only went with 1 spinner. Might as well post over 700 and crush them in the end.

Zimbo bowling is not as bad as Bangladesh.

Of course. Bangladesh are a joke. Embarrassment to Cricket. I agree. In fact, my SA team can take on both Zimbabwe and Bangladesh at once to be honest. In fact, you can add NZ to the mix as well. Won't make a difference to whose going to win. No offence.

Energetic causing his influence on Saffers already. Saffers playing Zimbo bowlers like they are hurling grenades :)))

I don't think so even though SA have been playing unusually in this match and last match against Sri Lanka. Just a coincidence when I stopped supporting England they suddenly crushing India after a disastrous 10 months and SA playing strangely.

lol....energetic will change is tagline to australian fan soon...how many teams has he changed till now...from bangla to england to s.a :P

People have been following this game through cricinfo os something.
Zimbabwe have been playing negative cricket with no intention of picking up wickets.
All they want is to send the game into day 5, which makes little sense to me if you're going to lose anyway.
Bowling two feet outside off stump, with fielders scattered across the boundary is hardly conducive for good cricket.

It makes plenty of sense if you are an inferior team.

South Africa are only 40 runs ahead with only 4 wickets in hand. The tactics are working.

If Zimbabwe can take this to the 5th day and avoid an innings loss against the World Number Ones then that itself is a moral victory for them. I'm sure most didn't expect this. This will also be good for Zimbabwe and will mean more teams willing to come and play there since at least in tests they can compete very well against anyone at home.
