Younis Khan came under fire again for his dismissal.

He attempted a reverse sweep off Nathan Lyon — a terrible shot under the circumstances — and got a top edge onto his forearm as the ball lobbed up behind the ’keeper where it was easily taken by Steve Smith who ran around from first slip.

Legendary Pakistani fast bowler Waqar Younis was livid with the veteran.

“That is ridiculous, that is so irresponsible,”
Younis complained in commentary for Channel Nine. “A man with so much experience, you don’t need to do that.

“What was the need? Pakistan needed you to be out there and you played a false shot.

“He’s got 65 but it was a very poor shot. I’m a little bit concerned about how Younis played because two balls before the ball landed in the rough and spun sharply. Extra bounce was there.

“What was the need of that? I don’t understand. He was not in control at all.

“I’m lost for words. Ridiculous.”

A very pathetic shot by YK to be honest. I am with Waqar on this. At 65 with your team needing you; he should have been responsible

Yeah, it was a very poor shot from YK. I guess Lyon had up stuck and he wanted to dominate him but fell with an over zealous shot.

Uptil that sweep shot, YK was looking good for a huge score. I am sure he will be the first to admit it was a poor choice.

Too much bounce in australia,it's never safe tos weep here.

It wasn't the right delivery to play that shot. He played it against England and it worked but against it did not due to the pitch. I agree with the experience he posses he should have played a better stroke

I mean, when it pays off it doesn't look that bad. Just one of those things..

Cmon every rookie knows that when there's rough you cut out any risky shot against a fast off spinner. He can get you any time with the one that bounces unpredictabily. Younis's main claim to being in Oz is that he has experience and he's a senior but his match in Brisbane and in new Zealand totally undermines that claim.

YK has played way too many poor shots lately. Perhaps the pressure of 10,000 is getting to him.

Big mistake from Him , he could have got a Hundred. Pakistan would have been more strong position, could have even won it.

Younis khan wont need telling it was a mistake Hes played it 100 times successfully in the past Its got him out once Happens

At 65 he knew he had scored enough to stay in the team for another 2 tests and that was his priority, hence threw his wicket away.

As far as I remember his triple century came of a reverse sweep. He has played that shot hundreds of time. That's how he bats against spinners.

Pretty much this, the sooner people start to realize this same legendary YK is now a liability the better.

It wasn't a high percentage shot at all. Way too much risk involved with the ball turning and bouncing, especially when they had placed a fielder at point as well just for that shot. An over earlier he escaped as the shot just fell short of the point fielder yet he still tried it again and paid the price.

That's why I love test cricket, with rock solid Shafiq on other end, every single run scored at that point would have mounted pressure on Aussies and situation required extreme responsibility from YK.

He's one of the best sweepers in the game.

BUT, that was a poor shot considering the surface. He misplayed a few sweeps before he was dismissed too, which should have been enough warning for him to stop.

I guess it's a major part of his "comfort zone" as a batsman.

over reaction
if that was connected well for four, we would have been praising him.
it happens with these kind of shots in cricket

LOL, he would have loved to score more. You can say many things about him, but you can't say that he doesn't want to bat long.
