“Losing one series doesn’t mean that we are not the number 1 ranked T20I team" : Babar Azam

Everyone has their opinion and this is fair enough - In T20s I dont like too many correct players. In my opinion Kholi actually scored too slowly in the semi against WI and his innings was out done by 6 hitting master class by WI. India actually didnt lose many wickets it was just that WI scored quicker by having players score quick fire 20s.

You have no idea what you are talking about, right? Kohli scored a thunderous 89 of 47 balls. There is ignorance, then cluelessness, then there is you.

BTW he batted at a better strike rate than all WI bats except Russell that day. Thank me later for enhancing your knowledge through spoon feeding.

A full-strength India is a mighty T20 side. However, like other elite sides, they use this format for experiments and hence the ranking cannot be taken seriously.

Can you give us what will be the full strength Indian side? So we can better analyse how mighty they are.

India do rotate the bowlers but they mostly play their full strength batting in T20's. Only Kohli take rest some time, and even with him in the side they were beaten by a joke of SA side at home.

Still, I will wait for your full-strength Indian side.

Dhawan
Rohit
Rahul
Kohli
Iyer
Pant
Hardik
Kuldeep
Chahal
Bhuvaneshwar
Bumrah

Now tell me when was the last time atleast 8 of these played together in a T20.

Dhawan -> Never been rested in T20I
Rohit -> Never been rested in T20I (played most matches that anyone in the world over the last 2 years)
Rahul -> Never been rested in T20I
Kohli -Rested
Iyer -> Never been rested in T20I
Pant -> Never been rested in T20I
Hardik - Is injured
Kuldeep -> Never been rested in T20I
Chahal -> Never been rested in T20I
Bhuvaneshwar Rested
Bumrah - Is Injured

The only 2 players that are rested in the series are Kohli and Bhuv. Bumrah is also often rested, that's true.

Note : Not use the word "never" strictly. These guys might have reste one or 2 T20's in their career.

India is not invincible, but they are mostly invincible against Pakistan because our strengths are completely nullified against them.

Our T20 success was built on Imad bowling economical overs upfront. He would regularly push the opposition on the back-foot who would then limp to below par totals.

However, a spinner like Imad or Shadab are jokes for India. They don’t have the caliber to make an impact against their batting even if they play hundred matches.

If India plays the team that destroyed Pakistan in the Asia cup, they would end up beating us to a pulp.

India will beat Pakistan 9/10 times in as long as Kohli, Rohit, Dhawan, Bumrah, Shami, Kuldeep, Jadeja, Chahal etc. are playing. In fact, they will be too good even if 1-2 players miss out, as we saw in the Asia Cup where Kohli’s absence made no impact.

People who claim that Pakistan can also beat India because XYZ beat them are missing the point. Teams like England, Australia and even South Africa can take down a full-strength India.

However, the problem for Pakistan is that they have no answer to India’s strengths while they have all the answers to our strengths.

Apart from Sri Lanka and the minnows, Pakistan is the easiest opposition for India in every format at the moment. We don’t have the weapons to hurt them even if they perform to 50% of their capability.

The only way we can beat them is if we have the match of our lives while they have a complete meltdown like the Champions Trophy final, but those are very rare occurrences.

Still doesn't change the fact that we don't really play our full strength team in T20 quite often.

And if we do, we are comfortably the third best only behind England and Australia.

I am not comparing India with Pakistan in my post. I just disagree with you to put India in the same category as England and Australia and say they don't play their best T20 team. When the true is that India mostly play their full-strength team, even in T20I's.

Highest Winning % In T20Is

India - 63.75%
Pakistan - 61.82%
Southafrica - 60.08%
Australia - 55.46%
Newzealand - 52.03%
England - 51.81%
(Minimum 100 T20Is)

We need two proper fast bowling A/Rs - whether its Ammad, Yamin or Ali Imran..somebody has to be developed

What is wrong with your mind - he played the most balls on the flattest wicket and small boundaries I have ever seen semi played and he batted slowly enough for the game to be over before the final over of WI innings.

If it was Russel he would have scored 30 more and if it was ABD he would have scored 20 more if they faced similar amount of balls. It was WI luck that India's best innings was played by Kholi and not Rohit or mixture of power hitter below Dhoni or Pandiya.

What a strange position to take. Does he seriously believe that Pakistan is still the no 1 ranked T20 team after getting drubbed so comprehensively?

Aside from all that, what Babar is essentially saying is that when they lost early wickets, they had to preserve wickets and give the charge later.

That is classic Misbah.

Mickey/Safaraz - for all their flaws - had conditioned their batsmen to continue attacking regardless of loss of wickets.
