False, hes the least of PPakista's problems in test. In odi he is not the biggest problem. His no 4 spot is an issue however he isnt the biggest issue.

We asked him whether he thought RizBar can come out and chase 20 in an over of the super over having a balls-to-six ratio of 50 balls (Babar) and 35 balls (Rizwan). Whereas the worlds top strikers opening the innings are hitting 6s at less than a rate of 15 balls per six (maybe even less, but substantially less than RizBar frauds),

Seems like you spent a lot of time explaining the intricacies of batting in the superover to @daytrader.

Given the ball in hand when it should have been given to Naseem….well it’s fair because he is the most experienced T20 bowler out of this lot,

His plan was to bowl wide outside of off making it hard for the batters to reach. It didn’t come off. Plus Rizwan who is usually very sharp behind the stumps was having a shocker with the fumbles while allowed them to run through.

I’m not making excuses for him, his plan didn’t pay off. Pakistan knew the plan and the field was set according to it.

From Imam's interview, the team was falling apart after that infamous reserve day loss vs India and the ensuing horrific ODI WC. Not only was the play on the field going on poorly but there was complete calamity going on back at home with mad men like Amir & Imad talking nonsense, Babar's leaked message etc.

After the ODI WC was done, the team simply kept losing whether that was Tests, T20's etc and then you had the whole removing Babar from captaincy in an ugly manner, made Shaheen captain only to literally be stripped of it after one series.

I am not sure why unity would expected on the team when PCB management and chairman themselves did nothing but try to destroy the unity with all their antics and brought back players who did nothing other than trash the players on the squad. Those same players then took turns finding epic ways to help Pakistan lose the match. Who can forget Amir bowling countless amount of wides to the fearsome USA batsmen or Imad playing it so casually like he is in a domestic match vs India.

I also think we tend to paper over a team's lack of talent & ability with things like being unified, working hard etc. That was a garbage T20 squad and Pakistan in T20's have still continued to perform horribly with nearly no meaningful win against a good team in T20's in couple of years if you really think about it.

Unity is one thing out of many other factors. Everyone's role was defined and when that person did not do his job then the problem rises. Like babar and riz opening and doing nothing for the team, Imad's pathetic batting. Amir's pathetic super over. It’s not a powerplay where you are allowed only 2 players outside the ring. In which Babar will score 1 or two boundaries on balls that suit his range, and then dab it to 3rd man for a single.

Knowing this, how can you honestly make the absurd claim that Babar should be one of the 3 that goes to play the powerplay? He has a balls per 6 ratio of 1 six hit every 60 odd balls. The Super over is just six balls. What are you going to do if you are to chase 24?

With 6 balls you are looking to maximise all 6.

USA beating Pakistan on that day was not an upset according to current cricket context. They have players who regularly play league T20 cricket in their country and abroad. They play with much better players than the Pakistanis do in the PSL. They see and learn better T20 cricket than the Pakistanis. They know their own conditions better than the Pakistanis.

If a team turns up with 2 anchors as openers in the powerplay, which causes a complete misbalance to the side….that team fully deserves to lose its matches against any team that is ensuring their side is fully balanced with the right type of players for the right positions.

Nasser Hussain clearly prophesied by the end of the England T20 series that ‘Pakistan need to change and change quickly, otherwise they could lose to a team like Ireland in the group stage next month” (something along these lines, I will share the actual quote).

The fools who defend the nonsense approach upon which the team is based on will never get this, and they will continue to look for scapegoats.

Babar made a big mistake by not asking Fakhar to take strike on the day. Instead it was Iftikhar who can hit big but takes time to get going.
