Misbah after the first Test against England:
“Credit goes to England for the partnership after being 5 down. Buttler and Woakes counterattacked when we had the match in our hands but they took it away from us.
“We could have done better with our 2nd innings batting. If we had 300+ on the board, it could have been different. But the main thing is that England put up an excellent show under pressure.
“This was a tough game for us. In the last innings on such a pitch where batting wasn’t easy, we need to recover from this quickly and we need to improve. We can play better cricket. This team has the full capability to make a comeback. It was a good match and England played better and finished it well.
“Overall the bowling was fine. Still, there’s a lot to learn. Everyone tried hard and gave their best effort but the other team won by playing better.
“We will try to minimize our mistakes and improve. It’s important to perform well with the bat in the 2nd innings also and we need to put up bigger scores.”
