“We are going to enjoy PSL; it's a big tournament for us. We couldn't do well in Champions Trophy; hopefully we will do well in PSL”: Mohammad Rizwan

Rizwan makes the Pakistan team because of his glove work. He's a top wicket keeper however he has no business batting in the top order. He should be used the same way India used Dinesh Karthik in the 2022 WT20 i.e. hide him at 8 before the tail enders come in.
Dinesh Karthik was a much more capable batter with ability to all around the wicket. He was considered a future star from young age. He is unlucky that his career coincided with that of Dhoni.

Someone is doing black magic on them apparently
Really, that is stupid thing to say from a commercial entity. These guys have to learn to deal with that have invested in. When you invest in average players you reap average results. Rizwan is not a good t20 player. He wastes too many deliveries at the top of the innings and his high average is a net negative for every team he plays.

I agree bro. This was not said in any way to disrespect the Indian wicket-keeper. I have been watching cricket since 2000 so I have followed his whole career and there's no doubt that he's better than any wicket-keeper batsman that Pakistan has produced.

The reason I used this example was because during the 2022 WT20 he was 37 years old and well and truly past it as a batsman. India played him as pure wicket-keeper and hid him at 7 or 8 before the tail. This is how Pakistan should look to utilise Rizwan if they are unable to find a solid wicket-keeper who can bat better than him.

Enjoyment ended a bit early, was looking great. Clean. Bowled. Gone. Rizwan walks back for 32(17) against Lahore Qalandars in PSL X

Mohammad Rizwan at the post-match presentation:

"In the last three matches, fielding was an area where we were lacking, but today we really stepped up. We had posted 235 earlier and now 228, but the execution was far more polished this time.

We created momentum early on—usually, Usman provides that spark, but today Yasir took charge brilliantly. Our bowlers were spot on too. They’re mostly newcomers to the PSL, and that inexperience can be challenging. That’s why I decided not to keep wickets today—it gave me a better chance to guide them on the field. I’ve been doing that for the past couple of years, and it really helps build confidence and control in the game."

As per Rameez Raja the ''expert'' Rizwan should just stay at the crease, his presence is enough. LOL - his innings today is the 100th example of how poor he is as an opener.

Horrendous commentator

He has so many pointers for guys like Yasir Khan and Usman Khan but nothing wrong with Rizwan lol

Mohammad Rizwan at the post-match interview:

"I think we were about 20 runs short today. Our target was somewhere around 180+ on this pitch. In the second innings, the ball was coming onto the bat quite nicely, which made things tougher for our bowlers.

Our powerplay bowling has been a bit of a concern. Credit to Islamabad United—they bowled really well up front and that’s an area we need to learn from. That said, the team environment is still positive, and we’re fully aware that every game from here is a must-win.

If you look back at our title-winning campaign, we also lost the first three matches. So, let’s see what happens—we’re staying hopeful and focused."

His 36(37) with only 3 boundaries was the main reason for loss which he didn't highlighted. Why he can't let KG or someone else open the innings in few games? May be somebody may perform better than him. This is just PSL, instead of being insecure he should show some flexibility

its a national problem lol
What’s a concern is the national one day team captain’s way of seeing things. If he doesn’t see that he is a problem, or the way he thinks he is doing things in the right way is a problem….

Well we are totally…..

Why was he targeting 180 on that track? Who did he think he was playing?

No team in the PSL would get shot out chasing 180 on that track.

The guy clearly has cricket comprehension issues.

This is the approach of leading Pakistani cricketer who is playing international cricket since 10 years and now leading the team. No team can win if the captain himself is carrying such a defeatist mindset. Later these players blame administrators in PCB for their failures

LOL... when your intentions are to score 180 runs on a high-scoring pitch, you are bound to get more learnings.

Multan Sultans going out of PSL, enjoyment time over now. But Mohammad Rizwan strived hard with the bat for his side. 44*(44) against Quetta Gladiators.

So just in the space of 3 games, Rizwan's sultans have managed to cop the biggest defeat both in terms of runs and balls remaining

Of course of Rizwan fan uses an example of someone being selfless as an insult

The fact that Safi despite being a two time winning ICC captain is humble enough to serve players that are junior to him shows what a great individual he is

This is the complete opposite of Rizwan who has always thrown youngsters under the bus in order to make himself look like some kind of lone warrior when in reality he is nothing

Last time I checked he is the highest run scorer

And your captain is serving water that show his real place and below average player he was

Once again personal milestones over team. He might be the highest run scorer (by batting like a snail) but his team is at the bottom

Don’t worry in 10 years people will
remember Safi as a two time ICC winning trophy whereas rizwan will be remembered as a guy that bought Pakistan cricket to its knees

They did everything in their power to destroy an honest patriot like Sarfaraz.

-They projected Rizwan as better…apparently GOAT level

-They projected him as smarter, although he himself admitted he is dumb.

-They projected him as more resilient, although Rizwan never came through for Pakistan the way Sarfaraz did when it really mattered

It was all a big scam!
