We often talk of world XIs, it is quite fun and always gets the juices flowing, so I thought, why not one with slightly different rules. So, one player from every decade, from 1900 to the 00s, with a few basic guidelines you need to follow.
For any player to be considered pre-1950, they have to have played at least 10 test matches in that particular decade, post 1950, they have to have played at least 15 test matches in that particular decade. This is simply to offset the increase in global cricket over the years.
So here I go:
1. Jack Hobbs - 1910s
2. Len Hutton - 1940s
3. Don Bradman - 1930s
4. Ricky Ponting - 2000s
5. Walter Hammond - 1920s
6. Garfield Sobers - 1960s
7. Imran Khan c - 1980s
8. Rodney Marsh wk - 1970s
9. Richie Benaud - 1950s
10. Wasim Akram - 1990s
11. Sydney Barnes - 1900s
