Well played Bess and Buttler they have given England a sniff albeit a very small one.

Test cricket is amazing. One side bosses it for eight sessions, then the ninth is amazingly tense.

So no wickets in the session!
Well played England and MCC/ECB will be ecstatic that game will go to a fourth day.

No need to panic. 2nd new ball tomorrow.
True new ball and in morning session will be it for england i dint see them last 10-15 overs tomorrow and the last session there was no swing seam reverse or anything it was total flat

I think Haris Sohail should be given the ball tomorrow. A left arm spinner
against right handers will be good contest.

This should've been expected and if anything England shouldn't have lost that many wickets but the bowling has been good.

Root chose to bat first for a strong 3rd innings total and he was right, conditions have got better for batting.

It has been a great day for Pakistan with the new ball coming in the morning and with one more wicket until tail, Pakistan is comfortable.

If England some how don’t lose a wicket in first hour tomorrow it could be scary for Pakistan

Pak fans lol ,I'm sure even if Pak wins this match tmrw, fans wud mk threads like why cudnt they close it on day 3 :))

We had fans complaining when we beat Australia 2-0 by 221 runs and 356 runs (Pakistan's highest ever winning margin) because not enforcing the follow-on was cowardly and defensive :))

A win is a win and if we win this by one wicket or won by an innings it wouldn't matter to me, it would still be the first time England have lost the first test of a home summer in over 20 years and a massive accomplishment. There was always a good chance that we would get hammered in these early season conditions and nobody could have imagined that we'd play this well in the first two and a half days.

Wow, game is within one more lively England session of being genuinely back on. But Pakistan are still strong favourites to chase down a target of around 100 to win.

Pakistan mighty comfortable at this stage. First hour tomorrow will be crucial for England. Pakistan will feel uncomfortable only if lead goes past 170 which is highly unlikely.
1-0 to Pakistan tomorrow.

It’ll break in the first over from Abbas next morning.

It depends. This Pakistan bowling line up is similar to England's in that it needs some help from the pitch. The only time we miss Wahab is to clean up the lower order when the wicket has flattened out. Good use of the new ball tomorrow and it should be over fairly quickly.

Crucial first hour tomorrow if England survive that without losing a wicket or atmost 1 as long as it’s not Butler then definitely Pakistan have a genuine scare

Pakistan would definitely not feel good about chasing even 150 with a batter short

Dont agree Amir was a threat through out. Hassan looked a bit down but he will be fine.

Pakistan always struggle to clean up the lower order.Broad may again play another epic knock against Pakistan.Pakistan failed to chase 136 against Srilanka.England has a very good chance.

Did you see 1st innings? Pal bowled superbly today till last 2 hours. Pitch today was great for batting. Its ENG playing at HOME. At some point you will lose a session or 2. No panic they will learn from this. New ball due, will be OK.

I guess England are there to make up the numbers. A fightback such as this in the UAE might have been a cause for concern, but the disrespect allotted to England just because Pakistan has pummelled them, is unfair.

Wow. I'm very nervous now. Can't bank on a Pakistan win.

Mindset matters a lot, especially in test cricket. I am sure Pakistan is disappointed and nervous about the situation, but they have to reframe their situation by thinking about whether they would have been happy with this situation before the game started. Objectively, they are in pole position. But it’s not about us saying it. They have to believe that.

These 2 have played a gutsy knock and have brought life in this test match. People might disagree with me, but the best sort of win is when your team has to play in difficult situations and get through hurdles to win, rather than just march towards the victory line easily. England have ensured that Pakistan will have to bat once more, and Pakistan's record in the 4th innings isn't all that great. The next 2 days might have alot of rain, which will make the condition of the pitch interesting. This to me is the final act of this test match. Pakistan bossed the first act. England made a solid comeback by the end of the second one. Pakistan is 1 man down, and a top order collapse isn't unheard of when you're a Pakistani supporter. I believe 2 great days of test cricket are ahead of us.

Pak in the box-seat still but if Eng somehow manage to post around 150 things might get a bit interesting.

Need to limit them to under 150

no babar is a blow
we were already a batsman down
