Congrats padosis, made England look like minnows today. BD/India must be shivering :misbah

Nah since the 2009 WC final, that came at such an important time, as a nation we had gone through a horrible time, and the team gave us much needed joy

Our greatest ODI win since 1992....

This is an unbelievable performance.

Unmatched since 1992.

Lose your strike bowler, unlucky reviews, against the favourites.

Like a dream.....

I think no one gave Pakistan a chance just like the 1992 WC final, against the same side Pakistan have made history, my word, the entire country must be dancing in the streets now

All set for Pak BD final. India will go NZ did in 92 and then chances of Pak winning is high

I think number 1 test ranking was the biggest day since 1992 WC. Yes in ODI cricket today was the biggest day.

The win in 2009 came at such a tragic time and was most definitely the greatest day in Pakistan cricket. Better than the 92 win.

No no no and no. Winning the Asian test championship and beating India in India in 99 was better. T20 World Cup win comes next.

All this amounts to nothing if we do not win the final. If we win the final then yes I will put it second after the 92 World Cup win.

We haven't won anything yet and there's many other great moments that have happened since 92 up until now.

Fantastic teamwork by the Pakistanis.

They have no great players and yet they reached the finals

Winning the tournament will be not reaching the final. Lets not act like minnows and overreact or be satisfied with just reaching the finals.

Pardon?

Even for ODI fans, a Mickey Mouse tournament like the Champions Trophy is bigger than the 1999 World Cup?

Really? Why?

But just look at the Cardiff crowd. It was all Pakistani. No white Welsh or English cricket fans bothered to buy a ticket, because to us calling it a Mickey Mouse tournament gives it a status it doesn't have.

On a "cricketing significance" scale of 1 to 10, last month's last gasp first ever Test series win in the West Indies scores a 7 out of 10.

Even if Pakistan wins the Champions Trophy, it would be an event rating 2 out of 10.

You are wrong here. Mickey Mouse Tournaments are IPL, PSL, Big Bash etc. Top 8 teams had to qualify in order to play in the Champions Trophy.

It isnt mickey mouse. Its second to only the 50 over world cup. And dare i say it has a tougher format where you cant get easy games against minnows.

It's pretty big if you win it all in the end, in terms of achievement. Don't get me wrong, the win against England has won respect from all but still like so many others have already echoed my thoughts, there have been bigger moments in Pak cricket history.

Nehru Cup victory, Asian test championship victory, ODi Tri series victories in Australia, the 2009 t 20 World Cup win, the world test championship crown, etc, all were much larger in scale to this semi final win.

Now we can revisit this if we win the final, IA 👍

Today was big but winning the ICC Champions Trophy will put this up as an even better achievement than ICC World T20 in 2009. Yes we were against the odds in that tournament too but if we win the Champions Trophy as the lowest ranked side:afridi1

How about winning the toss and used pitch? not favouring Pakistan?

Morgan said England would have batted first anyway, had they won the toss. The pitch was the same for both sides. You could see the difference between how Pak and England batted.Batting second should have been even trickier for Pakistan on a used pitch.Give credit where it is due.

I don't know why Pakistan never made in to final of CT before, doesn't look that big of a deal. You only need to win 3 games in a row.

It was definitely 2009 when we won the World T20 - it came in the backdrop of the worst phase of our cricket and country in general.

Provided a very positive boost to our morale - even more than the 1992 WC victory.

Safe to say however - winning the CT would be our greatest achievement since 2009 for sure.
