RSS Bomb Explosion
RSS Bomb Explosion
A man was anxiously waiting for a train from Pakistan at Ferozepur railway station in India. Even after the train reached the platform, his anxiety did not subside.
When the train stopped, the man asked one of his companions who was getting off the train, "Where are the rest of the companions?" To this, the other side expressed ignorance.
Waiting for the train to arrive at Ferozepur station was Lal Krishna Advani, who later became the president of India's Bharatiya Janata Party. The person he met was Khanchand Gopal Das, the head of the Rashtriya Sevak Sangh (RSS) in Karachi.
According to Advani's autobiography, 'Mera Watan Meri Zindagi', that day he went to the station to pick up RSS members who had been arrested after a bomb blast in Shikarpur Colony (Karachi) on September 9, 1947. All of them were later sent to India.
But why and how did this explosion happen in Karachi? Who were the people behind it and what was their motive? At the same time, this report also attempts to find an answer to the question of how strong the RSS, which was considered a secretive violent Hindu organization at that time, was in Sindh?
It had only been 25 days since the formation of Pakistan when an explosion took place in Karachi's Shikarpur Colony. The investigation that followed the blast uncovered an underground network.
According to a report in the daily Dawn dated September 17, 1947, on September 10, at around 3 pm, some youths were preparing an improvised bomb in a room on the first floor of the house of Rai Bahadur Tota Ram when the roof of the house was blown off due to an explosion. As a result of this incident, one person died on the spot while the other was seriously injured and later died in the hospital.
Sindh Police arrested 30 RSS members after the incident. After a five-day investigation, documents and materials recovered from these individuals, it was revealed that the group was involved in underground activities that included some of the biggest names in pre-partition Karachi.
According to him, under the guise of coaching classes, they used Rai Bahadur Hingorani's house to make bombs, enlisting the help of some members who were former socialists and had learned the technique during the Quit India Movement of 1942.
The renowned Sindhi writer Mohan Kalpana was a 16-year-old boy living in Karachi at the time of Partition. He joined the RSS in 1941 and left it in 1952. In his autobiography, Mohan clearly admits to his involvement in RSS sabotage and violence.
He writes, "I got to know Rajpal Puri, who was in charge of Sindh. Another person, Pribhdas Batani, said that Pakistan would definitely be created. We would take over the police stations, airports, radio stations, etc. of Sindh."
"I was too young for all this and didn't know where the weapons came from. I was told that because I looked innocent, I should join the secret service and learn the art of espionage."
Advani writes that Hindus from Sindh migrated from Pakistan to various states, including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh.
It should be remembered that in India, the central leadership of the BJP, LK Advani and Ram Jethmalani, have held central positions and government projects. Rita Kothari writes that some of the first generation of youth who came to India during 1947 brought with them the heritage of the RSS and passed it on to the next generation.
For this purpose, a team of 21 men assembled in Shikarpur to use a tuition center for their murderous designs, which they legitimized as a sworn duty and retaliation for massacres of the partition, 2 of the Hindu RSS team members were killed in the detonation because the bomb detonated prematurely.
This was the first Terrorist attack on Pakistani soil and it was by (Hindu) RSS and not anyone Muslim!
Case is also mentioned here in Indian Media.
