2015 World Cup result | NZ beat South Africa by 4 wickets in a nail biting encounter

Tough chances some of them but you gotta take them. It's grinding of Faf and ABDV counter attack with an excellent Miller cameo that will win it for RSA

I think AB was a dolly.

And in the semi final you have to take everything.

It's little moments like these that could have been the difference between 250 target (doable) vs now 300 (not happening unless SA choke!)

For SAF's sake, target is 297 to reach the Final; 298 is the target to win; Kiwis need a tie..............

Oh heck.

That explains it.

I was missing their bold predictions :D

I'm going to take up the baton of making over the top predictions about NZ's fortunes. I've already offered a sig bet for anyone who's picking SA. :))

How can you say they deserve to win this when NZ haven't even batted yet? :))

Because rain went in favor of NZ and despite that SA managed to put up a good total. Plus NZ dropped quite a few catches. you don't deserve to win if you drop that many catches.

Actually the only way NZ wil get to 300 in 43 overs is if South Africa choke.

Which is just as likely too :)))

I have more confidence in the power of the South African choke than I do in New Zealand's batting line-up.

NZ lost.

They won't chase down a 280+ target under lights with semi-final pressure and a good SA attack.

They'll be bundled out for 210 out. The only chance NZ have is if Mcullum can get off to a flier, otherwise even Kane has his job cut out.

Rubbish, 7 an over is nothing. NZ are right in the game.

For all the talk of McCullum being a great captain, he used his bowlers poorly today. The fifth bowler absolutely must complete his quota before the final ten overs when you are fielding first.

No, they wont...

I dont back any team in this WC to chase this much under lights against a decent attack

I am saying it right now....

Only way NZ can win this is if SA choke.

But chance of SA choking is pretty strong too :D

It would be a great game.

SA as of now look front runners and I defo don't want to face them in finals (if we win SF that is).

You never know with this NZ pitches.

Let's see.

Depends on Steyn's initial spell.

SA doesn't have it in them to prevent a Miller-like onslaught from NZ's top order. I think rain has snatched this game away from SA's hands.

D/L is confusing as heck :)) In one of our games against Eng it even reduced our total lol

lol no

Mccullum and Guptill will probably flop. Kane is the real shot at chasing it down, but too much work for him.

Mccullum would have to play a 50+ innings for NZ to have a chance, otherwise 298 is massive in this situation.

Target should have been well over 300 for mine. Not a fair assessment of things imo. SA were looking at a 350+ total for sure. Harsh.

What if it rains again and the game is delayed further? Is there any possibility of this equation turning slightly in NZ favor?
Yes, and that would depend on their RR at the time. Meaning, no matter what, NZ should aim to fulfill the RRR and try to be ahead of it.

Thanks to Miller it's close to 300 otherwise it would have been a bit lower. Full 50 overs would have been far better. 360-370 was possible.

One boundary an over plus good strike rotation is all you need to do to score 7 an over for 43 overs. If South Africa win this game it won't be because NZ were fazed by the required rate.

Chasing is impossible they say. So NZ will have to play twice as good as Saffas to edge past.

If Mccullum stay around in crease for 10 overs, SA can forget playing finals. Damn he is hitting everything to stands

Philtrundler and Duminy will prove to be enormous liabilities today with ball in hand.

Hoping to see a IPL style century from Baz today

Philander bowling 132 kph... Baz's going to have him for dinner here

SA should try more of a spin here. Baz enjoys pace. A spinner can concede 1 or 2 sixes but always has a chance of picking wickets when going gets tougher for his team

Yeah not a fan of D/L at all. Something they seriously need to look into. D/L in T20 especially is just pathetic. It hasn't kept up with all the rule changes and playing conditions/styles imo. I mean 43 overs x 7 rpo = 301 in itself. Target should have been around the 320 mark imo.
