2015 World Cup Result | South Africa comfortably beat Sri Lanka to book semi-final place

Good bowling in the first 10-12 overs but after that it has been garbage batting. Sanga is the main culprit here. I guess, he is playing for the last 15 overs.

Inexclusable SR.

If Misbah can get blame, Sanga should get it too.

When Thirimanne could score 41 of 85 SR, scoring 34 at 38 SR is a criminal knock.

Unless he makes up for it big time.

No need for Kulesekara to walk at this stage. Let the umpire make the decision you fool. A score of 150 and South African batsman would have been there for the taking.

Ok.
This is absurd.
It just shows how bad srilanka batted rather than duminy's brilliance.

In last 2 overs match completely went off from SL.Weird isn't Sydney supposed to be the flattest of Aussie pitches

I hope Sangakarra tries to go berserk in his potential last innings of his career.

It's not Sanga's fault the rest of his team have batted like idiots

His game plan failed. He is stuck there now. Neither re-building nor hitting.
Misbah re-builds, at least.
He would have smashed a few against duminy/tahir at this point.

Anyone wants to argue that Sanga playing this garbage knock is not putting pressure on others? It will surely have some impact when you play 30(80) kind of knock.

And why do people have a different opinion when Misbah does the same?

God I have seen India doing this so many times in the 90's before Dhoni and Yuvi came i can totally understand the pain of SL fans.

Feel sorry for Sanga and Jayawardena. They deserved a better send off.

Sanga is looking to play aggressively.
Wrong ploy imo he should bat through now. Losing his wicket will break his team.

This is a nightmare of a send-off for Sanga and Mahela. SA have totally spoilt the party tonite

I think Sanga was aiming for his 'Five-trick' of Centuries just like Misbah aims for his Average score of 45-50 range every game :mv

Showing clearly how poorly Sanga was playing till now. He left it too late. Still , SL can get to 200+

Well if NZ wins as well then it will be an odd SF as both havent qualified ever for a final. History will be created. But for that to happen I expect a Pakistan vs India SF and Pakistan creating history as well. Histories in the making.

Typical Misbahish reply :mc

Blame Sanga > WHY DON'T YOU BLAME MISBAH?

Don't blame Sanga > WHY DO YOU LOVE MISBAH?

Typical idiocy from you.

Sanga was slow right from the beginning, when not that many wickets fell.

Bro, they were 4/2. Sanga made up his mind to bat through the innings which is a sound strategy, he's the in-form batsman and he should be there at the end.

Blame the rest of the batsmen who threw their wickets away. It's easy to make up runs near the end of the innings nowadays.

This is a ridiculous strategy. If you're waiting for the power play to do an assault then take it early! No need to wait till the 35th over.

If he would had started it atleast 5 overs ago we wouldn't had seen this tragedy.

The thing is, in the WC his strike rate was 124, so he should have attacked and Jawardane should have come at his usual place and played anchors role.

TBH..This was the type of pitch that SL play on a daily basis. It's an abject failure

Oh well. This was expected to be the most competitive game in the QFs. I hope other games don't follow this pattern.

Good point. Other players should have played an anchor role around him.

That's symbolic. Sanga leaves and the heavens open. Sad end to the great ambassador of the game. On the other side, a bit of rain on the pitch will help SA when they bat.

Sanga Out!

And the weather gives him a nice sendoff by opening up the skies.

The last time we will see the legend bat. He has been brilliant for SL. Farewell Sanga!

I agree with you. Just that it would have been better if Sanga would have taken few more singles at least. But yeah, as you said rest of the batsmen just did not show much fight.

One of the most garbage knock by anyone I have seen came from a batsman like Sanga. Didn't expect him to play like this.
