2015 World Cup Result : Sri Lanka beat spirited Afghanistan by 4 wickets

Look at that horribly bowling action by perera. This guy can't bat or bowl.
 
There is help for the bowlers on this pitch.

Boult and Southee would be devastating on this pitch.
 
gd running between the wickets by these too. they look more comfortable and confident then they were against bangladesh.

Lanka bowlers are predictable. Everyone bowls in that 120-135k range. Even Malinga at this stage in his career has become a trundler.

I remember Lanka produced the likes of Dilhara Fenando and another bowler that I can't remember. They used to bowl in excess of 140k. Those guys used to get hit around the park a lot. But when they got it right, they were pretty useful.
 
i wish we had a game vs pak in the current form that pakistan is. i would imagine it being a close game.
 
Even Afghanistan has better team than Pakistan. Lets hope they qualify for another round.

These bowlers are just ****. Fernando was a spray gun, kule was actually good, he guranteed an early wicket every time. Became trasg,malinga injury mad him fat and garbage and let's not even talk about t perera. SL bowling is trash,take away mahela sang a and dilshan sl is a minnow. Boring as team to watch and trash too
 
Sri Lanka are absolutely dead in the field. That combined with garbage bowling has Afg in a good position here.

No fight or even soul in SL it seems. Take off Mahela and Sanga and you have a new 8/9 ranked ODI team IMO.

Sorry for being blunt, but this team has played 120 games in 4 years for this. How on earth have they managed that amount of games with this team.

Honestly think QF's could be out of reach for SL. Bangladesh bowling is far better and quicker
 
Damn I'm sick of this hobbit country with its midget grounds, 24x7 over cast, freezing weather, pitches with zero help for spinners and boring crowds.

Of course they deserve credit. Dont let SL's staleness take away from how well Stanikzai has batted. With Afg bowling they could win this if they get above 250. With Nabi and Najibullah left to come 300 could be on here.

Also like how they have improved in the running. Moles seems to be doing a good job in instilling some professionalism in the team

Afghan team learned well from Pakistani domestic cricket, the art of throwing away wickets when you shouldn't.
 
The fight shown by the associates has been very encouraging.

It's like after the ICC announced that associates wouldn't be part of world cups anymore, they kicked their game up a notch to prove a point.

Hoping they get to 270 at least to challenge Lanka, more would be good.
 
If mendis was playing against Pakistan, he would have gotten a Fifer.
 
Shenwari needs to play some attacking shots.

A boundary every 2 overs and 4 or 5 singles each over should be their target. That will take them to 280 easily.
 
Shenwari has no control over hitting, he might get caught any moment.

Afghanistan fighting hard. But losing wickets at the most inopportune moments. If they could score 280, Sl camp may get nervous

Actually dwarfs and hobbits nick names do not suit Kiwis. All of their players are very tall except for BMac may be. Even he is probably 5'9" or something.
