Btw, not fair to label Afghanistan as minnows. They made the top 10 WC fair and square, and at one stage probably had only a 1% chance of qualifying. They may not be a favorite to win, but the way the Qualification system is, every team richly deserves to be here.

One could even say that teams like Scotland deserved to be here, but cruelly missed out.

Afghanistan and West Indies will get smashed at the WC.

So what's the verdict?

Some perspective ones

1. Cricket as a sport becomes more interesting when the balance between bat and ball exists (400 plays 380 games are dull despite many sixes and fours )

2. No team can win purely on skill. Luck is a massively underrated element of professional sport. Tourneys are mostly won on fluke moments and coin tosses (and doctored pitches)

3. Clutch players are worth their weight in gold. There are only a few clutch players. They are

a. England - Stokes
b. India - Bumrah
c. Nzl - Williamson
d. Aus - Starc

Others include Amir, and Shakib.

4. Cricket rules need to be scratched and rewritten and recreated so ordinary people can also understand them. Enough of this elite word play and what not.

5. Pakistan is there or thereabout. Not a bad team however, India's mental grip on this team is way too strong. Australia continue their legacy despite being short on quality. Bangladesh will be a force in the next world cup.

Good points. AUS and Ind will go to SF 10 out of 10. Gun tournament teams. Indians can be unbeatable with a couple of new good middle order bats. There is no bowler like Bumrah. None. Can dominate with new ball, in the middle overs and just unplayable at death. Butler and Stokes struggled to hit beyond square against him. West Indies will be a good team for the next WC, SA are done.
