2024 was yet another rollercoaster year for Pakistan cricket.

From the shocking defeat to the USA in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 to a humbling whitewash at home by Bangladesh in the Test series, to the remarkable triumph of winning a Test series against England—this year had its fair share of highs and lows.

What do you think was the defining low point or high point for Pakistan cricket in 2024?

It has been a mixed year for Pakistan.

Bad loss in World T20.

But, a Test series win against England and an ODI series win against Australia in Australia.

India Pak WT20 match in USA was also a blockbuster. I mean never thought India would pull that off. It was an exciting match too. Mentioning it because based OP even losses are being considered.

The lowest point was the loss to the USA, but things have been positive ever since Aqib Javid came on board.

The lowest point was loss to USA, followed by inability to win T20 series at home against New Zealand C side.

Pakistan cricket continues to entertain, unfortunately it entertain the neutrals.

It’s a another year of disappointment & failure from Pakistan, which unfortunately is quickly becoming the norm.

Actually the lowest point was getting whitewashed at home by Bangladesh.

I never thought in my time that BD would beat Pak at home, but they are a Test nation at least & had arguably the greatest A/R of the modern era. There was still some respite for Pak after that during the England series.

However, Pakistan surrendering against part timers in their debut appearance in a WT20 was an all time low.

Test series losses are blots that stay on forever. I'm sure Pakistan will find a way to outdo the USA loss but losing on an even bigger minnow in a future ICC tournament. Once upon a time, the Ireland loss was considered the biggest World Cup upset too. And before that it was the Bangladesh loss in the 1999 World Cup. Losses like these in ICC tournaments are also the result of a team having a bad day---which even the best teams can have, let alone Pakistan. You can't say you had a bad day though after losing a two match test series at home.

The only thing worse than losing a test series at home to Bangladesh would be losing a test match/series to Afghanistan which they are perfectly capable of doing.

The year is usually defined by the ICC event of the year. Even if you ignore that its been a really poor year.
Winning a test series vs England on rank turners isn't a massive achievement. England are terrible against spin.
The ODI series win was great but followed by a 3-0 whitewash in t20s against Aus C.
So yeah awful year hope next year proves to be better.

Losing 0-2 against BD at home was the lowest point.

Any team can win T20 game, some of you are putting too much weight for T20 games.

The only UP I can see was winning an ODI series in Australia.

Lowest point was getting whitewashed at the hands of Bangaldesh at home.

The musical chair in captaincy continued with SSA to Babar to Rizwan to Agha all leading the sides , Shan just got his job saved thanks to industrial fans :mc

The BD loss in 1999 was dubious for specific reasons. In hindsight Ireland were a lot better then anticipated with their players well oiled from county cricket in England. The Tests for sure can be argued as the lowest low, but the USA loss has to be the worst in Pak’s limited overs history

It was likely coordinated at the highest levels of government; but deliberate or not, it was still a loss. And while those Irish players had some county experience it still was a massive upset considering Ireland had never even been seen in an ICC tournament before. In many ways it was comparable to the USA loss because the Irish side was also filled with discards from other countries. But I would agree that the USA loss is probably the biggest World Cup/limited-overs loss we have ever suffered.

Well many Pakistan fans thought that with the return of Amir and Imad, Pakistan would lift the T20 WC trophy but they failed epically. Lol with 100000 $ lure too.

No one thought that. Infact we were all predicting pakistan to get eliminated in the group stages.

Imad is just an improvement over Parchi's like nawaz, shadab, chacha etc, however he isn't needed anymore. Aqib javed has removed dead baggage now, Only agha I'm t20 and rizwan in whiteball are the remaining dead weights so far.

As for Amir, the irony is that even in his burnt out state he's still bowling better then shaheen and naseem currently. Rauf is only > Amir in aus and maybe sa. Otherwise rauf is a run machine as well.

Year 2024:
  • IN New York: Pakistan needed 37 off 30 balls with 6 wickets in hand - LOST
  • IN Sydney: Pakistan needed 47 off 30 balls with 6 wickets in hand - LOST
  • IN Durban: Pakistan needed 36 off 18 balls with 6 wickets in hand - LOST
These disappointing finishes highlight the team's struggle to close out matches despite being in favorable positions.

ODI series win over Australia the defining moment so far!
Those parasites infecting us with T20 WC misery the lowest point :amir :imad
