KXIP will score close to 227 so wanted to know everyone's opinion if you were forced to watch either one of these matches which one would you chose?

227 in 99 overs is better than watching IPL.
Can't really compare the two, tests are a whole different ball game compared to T20 (that too, which isn't an international match).
Watch hong kong super sixers, lady!
Of course both are different formats everyone knows that, question was which one would you rather watch? Assuming it was a T20I featuring Pakistan then?
Ifvi have to pay $$ then defo 227 in 20 overs #fact
Watch hong kong super sixers, lady!
Don't label your opinion as a fact. I'd pay to watch Test cricket instead.
I'll watch an India v England test match over watching Pakistan v anybody T20I, provided that both are available just as easily as the other.
Answer might change if the T20 is on TV and I have to mess around looking for crappy streams for the test.
Quality Test Cricket is one of the best things about the sport. This Pak Vs WI match however is a nightmare. You are playing a sub-par team, fighting to win a series in WI and still no intent whatsoever. Couldn't be a worse advertisement for any form of Cricket.
Used to love those, remember Robin Singh or someone was Indian captain once.Good fun.

Mate question is not about teams question is would you rather watch 227/99 or 230/20? if you are forced at a gunpoint and have to pay your own money then which one of these would you chose?

Neither. Both equally pathetic.
Just few minutes back, Rohit managed to lob a half tracker to mid wicket's throat, on a 55 metre ground - if that is cricket, then I must have to stop watching it & move to Baseball.
No - that is a slog feast & the game is 90% decided after 10 overs of 40. One out of 10 matches, chasing side will win such match. If you are to watch slog feast, you can go to nets & see batsmen banging around.
This Test will end as an epic, unless it's spoiled by rain - all 3 results are possible, even till last day. However, yes what Misbah/Azhar/YK did isn't the way Test cricket is played - it wasn't the case even 100 years back that two set batsmen got a 100+ overs tiered attack & decided to troll around at 1.5 rate. PAK actually, got into a great position & then spoiled it themselves.
High quality test match over crappy T20 league

Just a few minutes back , if you missed it !! Great dismissal , its Test cricket after all
Chase to Misbah-ul-Haq, OUT, oh, dear! Misbah has thrown it away here. Goes for another big, extravagant stroke. Gets down very early for a reverse sweep, telegraphs it and Dowrich does well to adjust his line late. Fires it down the leg side, making it the wrong line to play the reverse. Ball takes the top-edge and is caught easily by Dowrich. They make a confident appeal and it is given by umpire Illingworth. Good, healthy edge
Misbah-ul-Haq c †Dowrich b Chase 59 (148b 6x4 1x6) SR: 39.86
Both are the extremes of cricket. When is a slog fest , the other is a bore fest. What you want is a contest between bat and ball. Okay maybe in t20s it's all about batting but you don't want a pitch like the Mumbai pitch today.
If I had a choice I would probably watch test cricket but I don't mind watch IPL games or t20 games in general.

I agree that both are extremes, but cricket in general is moving towards the direction of faster play... 220 in 20 overs in over the top, but it follows the general trend of cricket. 220 in 100 overs is asinine in 2017
this kinda cricket by Pakistan is precisely the reason Pakistani's are watching test matches at a historic low, not because of the development of T20
I agree.I'd rather watch paint drying on a wall than mindless nonsensical 20/20 league cricket played on a small ground.
Thanks for the fantastic explanation - it perfectly explain the difference between "working out" a batsman & "forcing out" a batsman with score board pressure.
Why do people tend to remember test matches rather than twenty20 matches which is fast pace and much more exciting ??
Working out a batsmen , really ? Misbah was tonking him around and hit the last ball for a six . The batsmen got himself out trying to reverse weep , I dont know in which world its called working out a batsmen

Lmao this thread backfired. This test match is gonna be remembered for ages. The circus game won't even be remembered by the people who took part
Well, one of them I will remember in thirty years, and the other I have already forgotten.
Test cricket. Worth the wait!
It was in part compelling viewing BECAUSE Misbah declared 45 minutes too late.Hmmm.
But you were all over mr poor captain and all.
Now its worth the wait.... hmmm
By the end the ground had filled up and people were watching from the street.Apart from Pakistani fans, no one will remember this match either. Pakistan vs West Indies doesn't turn heads and doesn't attract global attention.
Test cricket will continue to have limited scope. Those who do not enjoy 5 day cricket will not warm up to it because of close encounters like these. It is a reality that people have to accept, and not get sucked into meaningless comparisons with T20 cricket/IPL, which is clearly the future of global cricket. Every time there is a good Test match or an exciting finish to a somber Test match, people immediately start comparing it to T20 cricket and vice versa, as this thread shows.
There is place for all three formats in this game and it is not going to change. You can enjoy all formats without disparaging the other, because all have their pros and cons.
Because of the excruciating pain and torture test matches inflict on the audiences. Obviously intense Pain is more easily remembered than happiness.)
Depends whether you prefer a McDonald's take-away or a 5 course meal at a decent restaurant with all the trimmings. Metaphorically speaking that is.KXIP will score close to 227 so wanted to know everyone's opinion if you were forced to watch either one of these matches which one would you chose?
Exactly. Even IPL cheerleaders won't remember the game in a year or two.

I took couple of days to answer your post - probably was worth waiting .......................
I dont understand what exactly we learnt here ?
"How tough it's to get a batsman out, if he is not forced into a mad rush"
I even more confused now .
When exactly where we debating on this point . Assuming we did , how does the Misbah dismissal in the first innings and Rohit dismissal in the T20 match prove your point ?
Both batsmen gifted their wicket to the bowler , infact I would argue Rohit had a a valid reason to hit out while Misbah played much much poorer shot for a format which does not demand such shots in any situation . So based on these dismissals , hows the quality of cricket in Test match superior ?
