This is my selection of best batsman from Pakistan against spin bowling in order of merit.

1.Zaheer Abbas
2.Javed Miandad
3.Hanif Muhammad
4.Inzamam ul Haq
5.Saed Anwar
6.Mushtaq Muhammad

Zaheer Abbas was to me the best Pakistani batsmen ever against spin .He had great judgement of the turning ball and could master spin on any wicket Readers should read what Derek Underwod said about Zaheer.Underwood placed him amongst the 3 best batsmen he ever bowed to.Zaheer was revelation against the Indian spin attack in 1978-79 scoring 583 runs at 195.His wristwork and timing was the key factor.

Miandad could be a class act on bad wicket and superbly adjusted his technique.Inzamam too had great judgement.

I'd have Younis in my top 3 definitely. Of the ones I've seen live: Younis, Misbah and Javed are by far the best.

Out of the 'Pros' that I've seen over the years I can list them as follows:

Younis Khan (A Proper Spin Bully)
Salem Malik
Inzi

Mohammed Yousaf was an exceptional player of spin bowling.

Along with Younis Khan and Saleem Malik who was one of the few Pak players that deal with Warne.

Yousuf,YK,Salim malik were all better players os spin than Anwar who preferred to face pace i think.

MoYo wasn't very good on rank turners.

Has to be Younis, who just edges Saleem Malik.

The best player of spin bowling in the last 15 years after Sangakkara.

Only Chandrashekhar and Bedi played that tour and both of them were well passed their prime.
YK for me is top level spin player from along with Salim.

younis has to be in the top 3

hes been our best in the last 20 years or so

No one has mentioned Shahid Afridi here. He's got 100 vs Kumble, Harbhajan and Murali(ODIs IIRC). Actually he's smashed them around at will.

MoYo wasn't very good on rank turners.

Rank turners can be a lottery at times, just like playing on seam pitches as more often than not you get a ball wit your name written on it.

However one thing MOYO didn't have was a good sweep shot (not one that I can remember) to negate a good spinner off his length. He liked using his feet more.

However genenrally he milked most spinners with ease.

In the last 25 years, I will be probably Salim Malik.

ZAHEER ABBAS, just ask the Indian trio of Bedi, Chandra and Prasana ,supposed be the best spinners in the world then and how Zaheer treated them in 1977 And around that time.

Similarly , the best Indian against pace has to be Mohinder Amarnath, who faced Imran and co and West Indians at the same time.

I haven't seen hanif mound...zaheer Abbas.. .

I can say only about the players I have seen..

Among them..

Salim malik.... younis khan...mishbah ...ijaz ahmed.... saeed anwar... mohd hafeez and sarfraz....

Asad shafiq is good too... but sometimes he looses focus... azhar ali has improved against spin..

Shoaib malik while in good nick can destroy any spinner... much like afridi..but have his share of failures too

Afridi was also traditionally good against spinners...he destroyed shakib kumble bhajji murali and narine too

Has to be Younis, who just edges Saleem Malik.

The best player of spin bowling in the last 15 years after Sangakkara.

Interesting.Where would you put someone like Sehwag

Sangakkara had a pretty average record in India IIRC

Pakistan's best ever batsmen against spin bowling not playing the 400th Test. :yk2

Sehwag is the best aggressor against spin I've ever seen, but Sangakkara has the best orthodox defensive technique in the last 15 years.

The way he nullified Ajmal at his chucking best was a sight to behold. I think Sangakkara is the ideal player for a young batsmen to watch and learn how to play spin.

The likes of Sehwag and Younis etc. are great players of spin too but their methods are unique and not applicable to other batsmen.

Sangakkara was conventional like Tendulkar and Dravid.

MoYo had the best late cut I've ever seen.

That's because he had no defensive technique against spin. Hitting sixes alone does not make you a great player of spin.

Now either the spinners we've got in domestic cricket are the next coming of Warne and Murali, seeing how they dominate the bowling charts this season.

Or our batsmen cannot play spin on turning tracks to save their life. Think we need Younis and Yousuf to give a few lessons.

I would love to see these batsman’s averages and strike rates against spin. We really have had many very good players of spin. The list is quite long. If we are just looking at spin bowling

In tests, in my lifetime, I have seen

Saeed Anwar
Inzamam
Yousuf
Younis
Misbah
Hafeez
Malik

All of them were excellent, world class players of spin bowling. Statistically, probably Misbah would come out strongest because in his era there weren’t many world class spinners. But, having seen them all play, you would have to give greater weight to runs against the great spin bowlers.

Younis, obviously, absolutely hammered Murali and Herath in Sri Lanka.

Mohammad Yousuf scored a hundred against peak Shane Warne. I remember watching that innings. Some excellent shots, but there were chancy strokes as well.

Inzamam was a genius against spin bowling. Never saw him troubled. Triple hundred against Kumble and Harbhajan, I think (?)

Saeed Anwar also scored a magnificent hundred against Warne and co and was unbelievably good against spin.

I think, if I was pressed, I would say, to bat for my life against only spin bowling - Misbah. For entertainment - Saeed. But I think, at his very peak in the last 5 years of his career, maybe, Younis Khan really was better than all of them. Look at his second innings hundreds. Cannot be discounted.

I can’t speak for Javed and Zaheer as did not watch them bat.

Younis and Anwar in the last 25 years were the best pkistani players id seen against spin Younis id rate no 1

Inzy was good but could sometimes be lazy and get out softly to them Misbah was ok but dead batted them often than not rather than the others who could toy with them

Yousuf was probably the weakest out of the above mentioned

I don't think Miandad was the best ever against spin for Pakistan. I remember him struggling sometimes caught on the backfoot.

I think Misbah and Younis Khan have a strong case.

In no Particular order

Younis Khan
Zaheer Abbas
Saeed Anwar
Saleem Malik

The way Malik handled Shane warne in 1994 home series was a joy to watch.

Anwar always handled Warne and Murali pretty well.

Younis pretty much did well against all spinners he usually faced.

Sadly never really got to see Zaheer play spin but by all accounts he was masterful.
