The University of Peshawar is the oldest public university in the KP province

There has been endless talk of PTI’s exemplary performance in KP since 2013, including their visionary education reforms.

However, the end result of their education reforms in the 7th year is that the university has run out of funds to pay its employees.

New motto of University of Peshawar:

“Koi poochay to bolna Khan aya tha”

Due to higher education budget cuts, Peshawar University has no money to pay on 1st feb

Billions available to lose in BRT.
Billions available for Kartarpur...
Billions available for so many other things!

What is the reason for not getting the funds for employees?

You won’t get the bottom of it because PTI is the guilty party here. If this were to happen in Punjab (during PMLN reign) or Sindh, cult-followers would have been all over social media like a rash and Imran himself would be shouting expletives.

My take on this is that the provincial government doesn’t have enough money after wasting billions on BRT.

Afghanistan will become the number 1 ranked Test team in the world before BRT is complete and running.

It is not even close to completion. The buses are catching rust and there are permanent bottle-necks and traffic jams. The worst organized and management metro bus project in the country. It has badly exposed the incompetence of this joker government that specializes in abusing and mud-slinging only.

Do you even need BRT?

Who is in charge of deciding on what tuition and fees are paid by students? If its the school, cant they raise the tuition instead of asking for a bailout. Or cut salaries of the professors?

I dont see how PTI is responsible for this based on the info available, and i think if they bail them out now, it might be an annual thing.

But but but what about the capital account deficit problem?

PU VC approaches KP adviser, chief secretary over delay in salaries

PESHAWAR: Vice Chancellor of the Peshawar University (PU) on Friday met with the Adviser to CM Khyber Pakhtunkwa (KP) on higher Education and chief secretary over delay in salaries of the varsity employees, ARY NEWS reported.

The varsity’s vice-chancellor and the chief secretary discussed the financial crunch faced by the university and the latter said that the educational institution is an asset and no compromise would be made on its stature and quality education it imparts.

The chief secretary applauded the reforms introduced in the varsity which helped in generating revenue of Rs 500 million.

“A control on recruitment process in the Peshawar University during the past eight years is also welcoming,” he said.

It was briefed during the meeting that the provincial finance minister would be a part of the syndicate meeting on Monday to help resolve the issue.

The vice-chancellor expressed his satisfaction over the progress made during meetings with the chief secretary and provincial adviser on higher education.

Meanwhile, the officials of the finance ministry on Friday visited the varsity to get briefing over the issues faced by the university.

In October 2018, at least 28 students of Peshawar University were injured when police baton-charged them on Thursday during their protest against fee hike.

A large number of students converged outside Peshawar University against hike in fees this morning, but soon a rioting atmosphere ensued. The administration called the police to disperse protesting students and a scuffle broke out between the two sides after the arrival of the law enforcers.

The protesting students also reportedly hurled stones at policemen, thus injuring two cops who were later shifted to hospital. A number of students were detained following the protest.
