TransGroup FZE, pursuant to a public bidding process, on Friday submitted the highest bid to attain various partnership rights for the upcoming international men’s and women’s home series during the 2022-23 season.

The successful bid, which exceeded the reserve price set by the PCB, boasted an increase in value of 77 per cent from the last season.

This development comes after the Pakistan Cricket Board announced a busy 12 months schedule – embellished with first-ever ICC Women’s Championship fixtures on Pakistani soil and two visits each by the England and New Zealand men’s sides.

Chief Executive Faisal Hasnain: “The surge in partnership rights for our international home season highlights a strong market interest, which Pakistan cricket has generated by successfully hosting top international teams coupled with strong on-field performances.

“The PCB thanks TransGroup FZE, with whom we already share a long and healthy business relationship, for their continued support towards Pakistan cricket. I also congratulate the PCB commercial, finance and legal teams for their tireless efforts in securing these results.

“I am sure Pakistan cricket’s fans are excited in anticipation of the bumper international cricket season that awaits us, and are eager to display their continued support of Babar Azam’s and Bismah Maroof’s teams.”

TransGroup FZE Group Director Rao Omar Hashim Khan: “TransGroup FZE is delighted to extend its long and healthy partnership with the Pakistan Cricket Board on winning bilateral partnership rights for the 2022-2023 home international season.

“TransGroup FZE hopes to see exciting cricket in the 2022-23 home season with 50-over World Champions England and reigning ICC World Test Championship winners New Zealand scheduled to visit Pakistan after a long time. England and New Zealand teams’ visit to Pakistan will produce exciting and competitive cricket, which will help Pakistan cricket become stronger.”

Is this a 77% increase in PCBs revenue? Or profits? Or number of bidders? Can someone explain what does the 77% mean here?

Why don't they reveal the exact amount? Why this secrecy?

All this x percent y times and no exact amount confirms the doubt that thê amount may not be very big

The excuse given is that the numbers are subject to confidentiality clauses

I wonder why other boards dont have such clauses and their figures are public knowledge.

BCCI will try to sell its IPL tv rights this year. It will be by a bidding process. Rumours are that it may be televised live.

Having put up the details of chairman Ramiz Raja’s expenditures on its website, a Pakistan Cricket Board spokesperson said that there was “no written policy” to make that information public.

The disclosure came after a section of the media highlighted that amount spend by Ramiz, who became PCB chief in September last year, during his tenure so far had not been published unlike those of other chairmen in the past.

“There is no written policy [to mention details of the PCB chairman’s expenditure] on the website,” a PCB spokesperson told Dawn on Saturday.

“It depends on an individual to follow it or not and the incumbent PCB chairman might have not considered it necessary. But now it has been placed on the PCB’s official website.

“The post of the PCB chairman is an honourary one and there is no monthly salary being paid to a PCB chairman. It is also an old practice in the PCB that its chairman will not take a monthly salary, but he is allowed to claim some allowances.”

According to the details, Ramiz’s total expenditure since being elected to the hotseat is Rs3,917,483, with domestic travel amounting to a major chunk of that amount (Rs2,460,553). His foreign travelling expenses were Rs239,380.

The statements show that Ramiz did not receive any daily allowance during his foreign trips while he hasn’t also claimed accommodation and entertainment allowances amounting to Rs390,000.
