Totally agree and I thing 2010s were also pretty good for hip hop tbhWanna say none lol , 90s full of boybands , 80s full of punk and metal.
Rap/hiphop and R&B was good in 90s though.

I think it has more to do with older people in power(cultural power) not really the quality of songs TbhSongs from older eras (20th century) are considered to be more memorable than newer eras (21st century) for some reason.

Seventies for me. Bowie, Elton John, Led Zep, Carpenters, Steely Dan, just a furnace of creativity.
Eighties had a lot of identikit plastic plinky plonky rubbish. Very simplistic and soulless. Things improved in the nineties with the more organic Britpop and the trance scene.
Queen!!
70’s was a great decade and a lot of the stars of the 70’s had hits in the 80’s...
But imho if it’s between 80’s and 90’s, the 80’s wins hands down
We all have our own tastes but I cant stand Queen, it burns my ears esp that mama song, it's torture for me
80's was the time of motown and soul music. Also breakdance and early rap.
