Misbah ul Haq front-runner in Pakistan’s head coach race: Reports 10th August 2019

How its even be possible? 1 day after the job advertisement how come a report said that Misbah is the front runner to be the next coach when 13 more days to go for closing the advertising?

There should be a proper enquiry about this incident and the person behind that needs to shamed or sacked!!!

2 more facts!!!!!
1.Misbah didn't even applied for the position in due date to close the application::::

2. Misbah has been appointed as “camp commandant” for the forthcoming 17-day conditioning camp for Pakistan cricketers. Fourteen centrally contracted and six additional men cricketers have been invited to attend a pre-season camp, which will commence at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore on August 19. After two days of fitness testing, the 17-day conditioning camp will begin on August 22 and run until September 7.

As I have stated multiple times, the PCB advertisement was a facade because they had already decided that Misbah was going to get the job.

Thus, any coach submitting his CV was wasting his time because he was never going to he considered.

This was the major reason why no one bothered to apply because they could see through PCB’s act.

The job description was also carefully crafted to justify Misbah’s appointment.

Apparently, this is the professionalism and high performance culture Wasim brought with him from ECB.

Personally I have no issues with Misbah’s appointment. Pakistan’s problem is not Misbah but the fact that we are an awful cricket team with no talent.

We don’t have the players to beat the top sides on a consistent basis and that will not change no matter who you appoint.

However, the way Misbah was appointed was highly unprofessional. Firstly, he should not have been part of the committee that decided Mickey’s future.

Secondly, he should have been appointed after a thorough process instead of getting the job on a platter before PCB invited other applicants.

The thread topic indicates this was a mistake.

Although this is actually the popular consensus amongst the public, there is a minority that might not consider it as such and some in the PCB hierarchy might be satisfied with the appointment.

Without anyone coming out and admitting they were behind Misbah's appointment, it's all speculation.

My own hunch is that after the WC, Misbah was able to get himself onto the now infamous committee as he was now a golden child of the PCB.

This was largely due to the fact he was playing up to the fable that he was sort of knight in shining armour that had come and rescued Pakistan cricket from oblivion. He had been milking this for years.

He was loitering around like a bad smell and sensed the opportunity to grab all these roles for himself. Wasim Khan was new to his role and I would suggest he was powerless to stop Misbah if IK had already given the nod for the appointment.

You never know, he might have also agreed with it and Mani is just useless and toothless as pointed out by other posters.

Misbah now being on the committee, had already been given 70% of the cake and basically he just needed the right moment to pounce and grab the rest of the slice.

He set this plan in motion by using the committee to fire MA and now the door was open. We just need to look at the rest of the OP to see that everything had been prepared for him to takeover.

Sadly, we have seen the repercussions of this disastrous appointment and it's not going to get any better. We deserve this mediocrity and humiliation.

Actually, Courtney Walsh did apply.
But very smart people at PCB called him at 3 AM in West Indies time zone, and then rejected his application for not picking up the phone.

Misbah's is not Wasim /Ehsan appointments rather than PMIK's appointment.. Thats why everything set up he way to fit in Misbah

Don't blame the middle men (Mani and Wasim), instead see from where the orders came

Why not look at it this way? The honourable Misbah was given a once in a lifetime opportunity to make a big difference in a very powerful role and he failed miserably
