So the final would be Quetta Gladiators up against Peshawar Zalmi in Gaddaffi Stadium.
Having the final itself in Pakistan is a big achievement, as it sends a direct message to those enemies who orchestrated the bombings in Pakistan so that the already scheduled final couldn't happen in Lahore.
Both teams have played quality cricket to reach the finals. Quetta dominated the groups like last year to reach a direct final, and Peshawar fought its battle till the last overs.
However, only 1 team would be winning the Trophy.
Though, whoever wins the trophy, it should be remember that either winning team will contribute alot to Pakistan cricket.
A championship for Peshawar Zalmi would be a very big achievement for PSL of whole. Even before PSL 2016 had started, Zalmi had promoted itself and PSL in such a way that it probably has the best market reputation amongest all teams. If Zalmi wins this, then there would be no stopping on them when they start marketing it. Zalmi's marketing promotes the PSL even furthur, and it enhances the PSL's quality and importance overall.
Its a hard truth to accept for all that most Pakistani's are Zalmi fans. Thus, if they win, its like a world cup, as they will promote the championship trophy to the fullest.
The Brand Value of PSL would most likely gained the most from a Zalmi win.
A Championship for Quetta Gladiators would be a bigger achievement for Pakistan Cricket. Remember, the team is being captained by Sarfraz Ahmed. The same Sarfraz who is now the captain of Pakistan T20 and One day team. Winning this championship ends up boosting Sarfraz's confidence and it also makes him mentally strong and allows him to aim for the highest.
By winning this PSL, he would be able to set a higher bench mark for achievement when he leads Pakistan Team.
Sarfraz Ahmed always needed a mental boost when it came to his cricket; i still remember his initial international days batting when he would be a walking wicket. Moin Khan came along and gave him enough backing to encourage him to go for shots and remove that mental pressure from him. Same way winning this Final gives him a big mental boost, which is much needed as our team would be under his leadership in the champions trophy.
