Adnan Sami set to be Indian citizen

Congrats Adnan for the citizenship. Now i hope govt works as fast and liberally on thousands of pakistani minorities languishing in India waiting for citizenship

There are millions of Afghans and Bengalis as well. India should become a 10 billion populated country soon with such generosity.

Do you (Indians travelling to India) have an identity card similar to Pakistanis who do not hold a Pakistani passport and need to travel to Pakistan? Or do Indians get a visa on their British passports?

There is something called the overseas citizenship of India (OCI) card which is similar to the overseas Pakistan ID card and allows for visa free travel.

Will Indians give citizenship to actual Indian born people? My grandfather who was born in India is struggling to get an Indian visa

After 26/11 it is very difficult for a Pakistanis to get Indian visa, even Pakistanis with British and American passports have been affected by the David Headley AKA Daood Sayed Gilani episode. Adnan Sami has been living in India since last 15 years and is a celebrity with connections, so it is a very unique case.

Even before Mumbai a couple of American Pakistanis I know with Indian wives never got an Indian visa, they got rejected as soon as the Indians found out they are Pakistani as well. So they gave up in the end.

Going by your age i guess your grandfather was born before partition? If that is the case than millions of Pakistanis qualify for Indian visa because most of the people who are in their 70s and 80s now were born before partition including my father.

The guy was so desperate and ran from pillar to post for God knows how many years. Glad that Indian Gov finally recognised him.

I have no problem with his tweets.

What do people expect him to say ?? That he opposes the Indian army so he gets the wrath of the Indian media Machine and Shiv Sena types ??

He's just trying his best to say listen I'm not saying quite unlike those other evil Pak artists. Hopefully India now accepts him as he's trying his best.

People are free to say what they want but Adnan Sami's motives are too obvious for anyone to take his tweets seriously. He wants to be accepted by the Indian public especially the BJP types as an Indian citizen but sadly for India, that is the only way he can do that. The more he bashes Pakistan, the more he will be loved and praised by the Indians. I used to like his music, still think he is a good musician and singer but psychologically, he is a troubled man.

Not surprised, arabs generally consider asians to be beneath them so such behaviour is the norm for them. Still despite this, many asians worship arabs.

Seems he is complaining from a lack of support from the Indian embassy which is frankly quite shameful.

Yea a Fighter Pilot in PAF but he was born in Afghanistan his family was from Afghanistan and moved to Peshawar just before partition. Adnan mother is Indian and Adnan himself was born and raised in UK.
