I don't see Rubel trying yorkers at the death. Anything else will go to downtown in such a dry weather.

It's capability, yorker is the toughest ball to control - margin of error is so little that, 6 inches either side, it'll become half volley or full toss. On top of that, if it's missing radar, basically a free swing to leg side.

I don't think, on this wicket finishing with pacers is a good idea, which was proved in last game as well (Must be Walshi's plan, no Asian coach would do that with 120K pacers). What we needed was to take the pace out so that it doesn't come on to bat; Mustafiz would have been quite handy on such wickets, but these days he seems to be fit only between March to May.

What's the point of playing ODI against AFGs, rather giving them an opportunity to close gap? Do you think, playing 3 spinners on such wickets should help us preparing for a WC in UK?

I'll take T20s against AFGs always, as they are better suited for the shortest format.

One could argue the point of T20s was merely to widen the existing gap between AFG and BD.

An ODI series would be good practice for the tour of WI. A series loss in WI - very much on the cards will mean we could easily drop to 8th or even 9th in the ODI rankings.

I wouldn’t be very confident in ODIs against Afghanistan if I were a Bangladeshi fan.

AFG barely made the super 6s of the World Cup qualifier. Not the World Cup. The Qualifier. Bangladesh on the other hand were a top 6 ODI team just 12 months ago. In 50 overs, the Afghans will always collapse even against Zimbabwe or Hong Kong quality bowling.

Congrats to AFGs, deserving winners. They are actually are a much better T20 side, and on such wickets those 12 overs are as good as any attack in world. Rashid, what a player, worthy of his IPL wage. I'll be waiting to see him in Test.

Cricket spirit tells batsman is given out on the appeal, judged by umpires within the rules - close calls will always go to batsman - this game gives BoD to batsmen. This is 2nd time Rubel has messed up his length when it mattered, which suggests it's not only mental, but capability as well - he is good with his length when batsmen are trying to nudge around. It wasn't Shakib's fault - next time, we'll have to plan something else.

Afghanistan is simply a better t20 side. No question about it. Furthermore, t20 is such a format where u can win matches based on the performance of two or three good players which is not the case in tests or ODIS.
