What's new

After Asia Cup politics, India-Pakistan games should no longer be ‘arranged’ at ICC events, suggests Michael Atherton

Hence why I said: they just can't say anything cause India feeds ICC most of it's revenue.

They see the injustice, but won't push back because of money. everyone is greedy. Pretty sure most people who talks smack here would also zip it and take the $ too and look the other way.
Reality/Real world. $$$$ talks. Almost always. You live with the choices you make.

but also elevated the game of cricket so it became surrounded by crazy patriotism and nationalism. Now we got to a point that Indians can't resist playing and watching the sport but they want to do it in an unsportsmanlike way.

You must have a really short memory because in the 80s and 90s players houses were being stoned and crowds were disrupting matches.

Some twitter posts is nothing compared to that, today there is way less nationalism and craziness among fans. Social media randos are no indication.

T20 World Cup: India-Pakistan in Colombo likely on Feb 15, Mumbai and Ahmedabad for semi-final and final

India will open their T20 World Cup campaign against the USA, while their match against Pakistan is likely on February 15 in Colombo, RevSportz understands. As per the tentative schedule, the 2026 T20 World Cup, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, will be played from February 7 to March 8. The India-Pakistan game will be a high-profile affair, notwithstanding the lopsided nature of the contest, with geopolitics involved.

It is learnt that Mumbai is likely to host a semi-final on March 5, while the final is in Ahmedabad on March 8. If Pakistan qualify for the semi-final, they will play in Colombo. For Sri Lanka, too, if they get to the last four, they will play at home.

It needs to be seen what happens, in terms of venue, if Pakistan reach the final. India and Pakistan have decided to play their matches in multi-nation events at neutral venues during the current rights cycle.

Another chance for India to win the war unless war gets abandoned due to rain… hope so

India instigated it but Yeah guys like rauf and Farhan weren’t exactly mature to go with pcb chief announcing to pay raufs fines

For me anyone displaying war hysteria on field is throwing a tantrum and should be reprimanded
Whatever Rauf and Farhan did was in response to India’s shenanigans.

I agree overall it was a very immature experience and painful to watch to be honest.

Maybe Pakistani forget who started this but let me remind you - it was Pakistan current player's (not talking about ex player like Afridi) who cross the line during OP Sindoor by racists Post on social Media.

Another farce coming up. I hope it gets rained out.

Sports should be kept away from pathetic tantrums of India and Pakistan
You don’t have to say “and Pakistan” to sound impartial.

Pakistan never brought any of this BS into cricket

Goes on to show that BCCI’s dramaybaazi only lasts till they are shown the $$$

If it was such a principled stand, why okay with playing Pak in group games? I’m sure they can use their clout to make sure Pak India don’t play unless they really have to.

Who started it in Asia Cup? And what has Shahid Afridi got to do with the current Pakistan team anyway? Is he their coach/mentor? When will we boycott against Pakistan? I am still waiting... :inti

I don’t care about social media posts as a cricket viewer but do care about antics on the field
