His choice of words was “wrong”, but that is how every hardcore PTI supporter feels, and that is why they defend anything he says or does.

Had Imran lived a thousand years ago, he would have started his own religion.

I take it that the pregnant NS didn't get bail then.

He's not wrong though. I don't see how this is disrespectful.

From an Islamic perspective after Allah come his messengers and prophets most specifically prophet Muhammad, no two ways about it. Forget about it being disrespectful some crazy people can easily accuse him of blasphemy on this issue: "Toheen-e-rasul" or even apostasy since it's the fundament of Islamic belief system.

I am not accusing him of any of it. Just illustrating the extent of his mistake in a country like Pakistan.

You are absolutly right, and there is even proof of this

It appears that amidst all the price hikes on various goods and services, vodka has been on sale.

For those who do not understand Urdu, Faisal Vawda, the Federal Minister for Water Resources and more importantly, the heroic vigilante who was ready to fight the BLA terrorists with his Glock and proudly stepped on the wreckage of India's MiG-21 with a Pakistani flag in his hand, has given the country glad tidings in these tough times.

According to him, Pakistan's problems will be over within a week or two and there will be an overflow of jobs and work opportunities. People will be so content that even street vendors would happily pay taxes.
[MENTION=1269]Bewal Express[/MENTION] you were quite wrong in your assessment that the country will have to suffer for a long, long time before it can bear the fruits of the honest and visionary leadership of Imran Khan and PTI. One of the champions of Naya Pakistan has just confirmed that it is only a matter of a week or two. So does the countdown begin from this moment? I believe so.

On a serious note, this is the reality of PTI and these are the "leaders" who will bring change. Once again, they are prepared to take the gullible and the simpletons for a ride, but unfortunately for him, one will need to have an IQ of a Homo erectus to lap this up.

This government is breaking all records of incompetence at a rapid rate. If they are allowed to stay in power for 10 years, they are sure to bring us our doom.

Wow- you cant comment on the billions stolen( FALOODA WALAS), you cant comment on Fazlu becoming the Presidential candidate for your party, you cant comment on NAB workers being attacked for doing their job, you support a judge that is corrupt and gives bails on Saturdays but you find a statement from this guy to be of greater importance. Although his statement is misguided, its called countering negative propaganda by the mafia which has bankrupted the country and wants the Rupee to crash even more( look at the attempt by the Chimp Munshi last week which caused a shortage of Dollars on the market as people started to hoard).
So tell us why Fazlu is the Presidential candidate for the Nooras and the PPP?

Does this buffoon knows how Labour demand and Supply works?

lol in 2 weeks there will be surplus jobs?

:)))

The Noora brigade will always be against Faisal Vawda because he was a second tier leader of PTI yet beat the president of Noora league, Shahbaaz Sharif, in Karachi.

People of Karachi put these paindu nooras in their place. Never forget your auqaat.

Insha Allah it improves but at the moment situation of particularly economy if the country is really bad.

Isn't it true anyway? PMLN and PPP at least had some reputable people but Imran's party except himself is proving to be worse than PMLQ.

I wonder what the Nooras had to say when the entire govt machinery stood deadlocked and all the PML N ministers kept coming on talk shows, attending Supreme Court hearings, devoting their entire energy, attention to the defence of NS rather than doing their own jobs?

My message to these people "You just dont talk at all"

So the biggest clown and show-off in Imran Khan’s circus turned up with a military boot in his hands in Kashif Abbasi’s program on ARY.

He probably borrowed it from Imran Khan’s office.

It is amazing to see the type of idiots Imran Khan has accumulated in his team. The quality of assortment is remarkable. You will find every type in there.

What an embarrassment for the establishment, to supplement Imran Khan with some sort of party structure, they ended up recruiting the 3rd rate cheapsters like Vawda, Fawad Chaudhary and Chauhan.

There was a reason why these Lotay weren’t getting much luck, even with other corrupt parties like Ppp and PML.

What Vawda did is unacceptable and should be condemned but he exposed the hypocrisy of PMLN and PPP for voting the selector and giving full respect to boots when it helps them.

It WOULD have been unacceptable to me if he had done to people with an iota of shame, not these cretins. These leeches have been sucking innocents' blood for way too long. Do it everywhere and every time these leeches are seen.

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) has banned the broadcast of anchorperson Kashif Abbasi's programme 'Off the Record' on ARY News for 60 days following Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) minister Faisal Vawda's outlandish stunt on the show.

On Tuesday night, Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda appeared on Abbasi's show alongside senior PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira and PML-N Senator Javed Abbasi, during which he used a boot to heap scorn on the PPP and PML-N for voting in favour of the recently passed Army Act in parliament.

The next day, as criticism poured in from opposition leaders as well as people on social media, Vawda said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was "not happy" over his action. While appearing in a Geo TV programme in the evening, he took responsibility of the incident but made it clear to anchor Hamid Mir that he would not apologise for bringing the boot to a live TV show.

Meanwhile, Pemra banned the broadcast and rebroadcast of Abbasi's show effective from today (January 16).

According to Pemra, during the programme under discussion, one of the panellists (Vawda) "performed [a] very unethical act" while starting his arguments on the subject being discussed.

"Subsequently, arguments made by Mr Vawda were not only extremely frivolous and derogatory but also an attempt to debase a state institution," the notification dated Jan 15 read.

"Whereas, role of programme host Mr Kashif Abbasi was quite unprofessional who actually did not intervene or stopped (sic) that unethical act performed by one of the panellists during a live show rather took the entire incident casually and kept smiling/cherishing such occurrence," it said, adding the media body was taking this action under Section 27(a) of the Pemra Ordinance 2002 as amended by Pemra (amendment) act 2007.

Section 27(a) of the ordinance states: "Broadcasting or re-broadcasting or distributing any programme or advertisement if it is of the opinion that such particular programme or advertisement is against the ideology of Pakistan or is likely to create hatred among the people or is prejudicial to the maintenance of law and order or is likely to disturb public peace and tranquillity or endangers national security or is pornographic, obscene or vulgar or is offensive to the commonly accepted standards of decency."

Subsequently, the media regulatory body said that Abbasi's appearance is also banned for the 60-day period. According to Pemra, Abbasi cannot conduct his show, appear on ARY News or any other television channel as a guest/analyst or expert.

Pemra said the content aired during the live programme "appears to be a wilful attempt to debase and demean a state institution by dragging it unnecessarily in a debate".

"The act of the host is also in violation of clauses 3(l)(e,j), 4(7)(b), 4(10), 5, 13 and 17 of Electronic Media (Programmes and Advertisements) Code of Conduct, 2015, read with Section 27(a) of Pemra Ordinance 2002 as amended by Pemra (Amendment) Act 2007," the notification stated.

As per Pemra, in case of non-compliance by the television channel, action can be taken under Pemra laws "which may result in suspension/revocation of satellite TV channel conferred to M/s ARY Communication Pvt Ltd ARY News".

What went down
Vawda appeared on ARY News' 'Off the Record' on Tuesday night. Mid-programme, while discussing PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, Vawda pulled out a boot and plonked it on the desk in front of the guests. Both Abbasi and Kaira eventually left the show in protest.

During the show, while responding to a question regarding Nawaz's health, Vawda said that "shameless" people stoop to any level.

He said that no deals were being made.

"In order to save your theft and to escape the country [...] you laid down and gave respect to the boot. You have announced this," he said as he pulled out an actual boot. "In every programme, I will keep this with me, this is today's democratic N-League."

“You [the PML-N] should have given it respect earlier like we have been doing,” he said, referring to the boot he was holding.

The host, Abbasi, joked that he thought Vawda was pulling out a gun, a reference to an earlier stunt by Vawda, but in fact he had "pulled out something even more dangerous".

"You are talking against them (armed forces’ personnel) even when they embraced martyrdom. Today, when it comes to their loot and plunder Maryam Nawaz and Nawaz Sharif should hold this (the boot) and tell the people that we will respect the boot and do everything (to save us)," Vawda said.

The PTI minister did not spare PPP and asked why it took back the amendments it had proposed earlier in services chiefs’ legislation.

A visibly offended Kaira said that Vawda meant that the PPP and the PML-N had voted for the Army Act not on the request of the PTI government but under the pressure of the army. Vawda clarified that this was not what he was saying.

"He came with a lot of fervour and put the boot here and created a mockery of the army," Kaira said.

At one point, Abbasi asked Vawda who the boot belonged to, to which he said: "Ask them (PPP and PML-N)". He eventually removed the boot, in response to which Kaira wryly remarked that he should leave it on the table.

Opposition lashes out
PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb, while speaking to Dawn on Wednesday, said that Vawda's stunt did not dignify a response.

However, former law minister and PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah, while appearing on another TV show on Tuesday night, said that the entire nation was witnessing activities of "jokers", adding that "the government wanted to make a joke of the army as an institution".

PPP leader Sherry Rehman also condemned Vawda's behaviour. "This can’t be normalised, no matter what the point of the parody," she said in a tweet. "Disappointed and disgusted that public discourse has sunk to this level."

"It is everyone's right to critique another's actions but this, this plumbs new depths. Cheap thrills just got a whole lot cheaper," she added.

Clips of the PTI minister's stunt were circulating on social media on Wednesday morning, with trends such as #PTIDisrespectArmy, #FaisalVawda and #Kashif Abbasi trending on Twitter.

While some PTI supporters were seen praising the minister on social media, others expressed regret over the episode and criticised the minister for dragging armed forces by creating an avoidable controversy.

PM Imran unhappy with act of bringing boot to TV show: Faisal Vawda

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda said on Wednesday that Prime Minister Imran Khan did not approve of his gimmick of bringing a boot to a TV show.

The federal minister was speaking to Geo News anchor Hamid Mir on Capital Talk, where he said that he was entirely responsible for taking along a boot to a TV talk show.

“I told the prime minister whatever he is saying is right. I assured him that it will not happen again and he will act responsibly,” said the federal minister.

“Nawaz Sharif and his family always maligned the institutions and weakened them,” said the minister.

Vawda said that he will never "intentionally malign any institution", adding that his act was being questioned while he only meant to point out the opposition’s reality.

He further said that he was not aware of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority's rules and "came to know them today".

A day earlier, the federal minister, who was on a television talk show with Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader Qamar Zaman Kaira and PML-N representative Javed Abbasi startled all by placing a black boot that he had brought with him on top of the table.

Vawda had mocked the PML-N's unconditional support for the Army Act amendment bill, saying the party was "lying down to kiss the boot".

"I am going to bring this [boot] to every talk show," he said. "This is how democratic the PML-N is. They lay down to kiss the boot," he added.

Vawda was mocking the PML-N slogan "Vote Ko Izzat Do" by saying "Boot Ko Izzat Do", criticising the party for deviating from its stance and lending unconditional support for the services chief's tenure bills.

Well which party in Pakistan is not Hypocrite? All of them are, previous and current one as well.
They all are behind Army to get posts.

You should know it by now:

When other parties do it, it’s called licking boots.

When PTI does it, it's called “being on the same page”.

Imran taking shameless U-turns on Musharraf treason case and COAS extension is not a problem, but if other parties do it, they have no shame.

The word hypocrisy and PTI are synonyms.

As a PTI supporter, let me define it for you but I do not think it would matter for a cult supporters of corrupt and bhagay huey politicians.

Same page mean, improving the economy, as it has become national security, improving the security situation as it is related to national security, improving soft image of Pakistan, improving the image of Pakistan in other countries and bringing tourists to Pakistan.

Above are the some of the example.

Now carry on supporting those who were saying, "vote ko izzat do" then ran away with your izzat.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has demanded an explanation from Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda following his outlandish stunt on a live TV show, where he used a boot to ridicule opposition parties PPP and PML-N, premier's aide Firdous Ashiq Awan tweeted on Thursday.

The prime minister has also restricted the federal minister from appearing on any talk show for the next two weeks, she added.

"Prime Minister Imran Khan has demanded an explanation from federal minister Faisal Vawda for his behaviour in a private channel's talk show," Awan tweeted. "The prime minister has restricted Faisal Vawda from appearing on any talk show for the next two weeks."

The tweet comes two days after the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader appeared in anchorperson Kashif Abbasi's programme 'Off the Record' on ARY News alongside senior PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira and PML-N Senator Javed Abbasi and used a boot to heap scorn on the PPP and PML-N for voting in favour of the recently passed Army Act in parliament. The move was criticised and condemned by opposition parties and also drew the attention of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority, which banned Abbasi from appearing on TV for 60 days.

Despite the backlash from opposition and social media users, Vawda remained unapologetic but he admitted on Geo News show Capital Talk that the prime minister was "not happy" with his stunt. When asked if he apologised to the prime minister for what had happened, Vawda said: "I told him (Prime Minister Imran) he was right."

Vawda's stunt
On Tuesday's show, while responding to a question regarding PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif's health, Vawda said that "shameless" people stoop to any level.

He said that no deals were being made.

Both the PML-N and PPP leaders eventually walked out of the show.

That’s what low IQ levels do to these blind followers. They are not able to see the hypocrisy in themselves.

As for economy, they will keep on coming with imaginary upward trends. Whereas in reality ordinary people are worse off than under Ppp or Nooras.

Your definition of “being on the same page” sounds beautiful but unfortunately, it is only applicable to the Youthopian world.

In the real world:

Pakistan has absolutely no grip on the economic problems of Pakistan. They have no idea what they are doing and where they are heading. They have only memorized one metric: current account, and they think it is a one stop solution to resolve Pakistan’s financial crisis.

They think controlling the finances of a country is just like balancing the books of a multinational, and that is why they advertised the Engro CEO Asad Umar as an economic genius for years before he was booted out as finance minister within 8 months because of his disastrous performance.

Now they have hired a former PPP finance minister in spite of the fact that they are extremely critical of PPP’s economic performance during their federal term. The genius logic is certainly beyond my understanding. Never before has this country been graced by such a genius government.

The common people on the streets do not care about fudged numbers and current account. What they care about is the fact that they are currently bearing the brunt of unprecedented levels of inflation which has made life in Pakistan pretty unlivable for the common man. The taxi drivers, street vendors, domestic workers, small business owners etc. are all cursing Imran Khan and his government.

PTI has absolutely no say on national security and foreign policy. That is entirely the military’s domain. The two most useless ministries in Pakistan are the Foreign Ministry and the Defense Ministry. The Interior Ministry was also useless until Bajwa fired Imran Khan and employed a former ISI man.

Furthermore, because the civilian government is so suffocated because of military dominance, Pakistan does not have a shred of credibility in international forums, so let’s not talk about Pakistan’s soft or hard image. We are a laughing stock. That is what our image is.

As far as tourism is concerned, in the grand scheme of things, it hardly as any significant impact when you are in the dumps in most other metrics. We can treat these food vloggers and hippies like royal guests and welcome them to the PM house and treat them like celebrities, but this rising tourism is nothing to be excited about because it cannot compensate for the other factors that have contributed to our shambolic global image.

Do not tell me who to support when your own leader, the self-appointed Messiah took shameless U-turns on traitor Musharraf’s treason case and the Army chief extension. What happened to the statement that “generals did not get extensions even during WWII because it weakens the institution”?

Brah, you really believe I would read your rant and respond to it?

Every comment and excuse you made to discredit PTI can be refuted easily and that is me saying that after I stop reading the rest after your name, that is how predictable and repeated your response have become. it is same memorized line repeated while ignoring major facts.

Pre PTI government, $ was artificially valued, current PTI government $ is not and stabilized.
Every reputable entity has praise PTI for their effort. Try to understand how important that is and if you decided not to then it is okay, you know where your wrist at :)

But carry on with lengthy essays.

Imaginary upward trends.

PTI has not shown any upward trends, Pakistani economy will be poor compare to rest of the countries in sub-continent, it is not a hidden secret.

Highlighting facts that are being highlighted by reputable organisation isn't as same as having low IQ.

Faisal Vawda held US nationality at the time of filing election nomination papers: report

Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda was a dual national at the time of filing his nomination papers to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to contest the 2018 general elections, The News reported on Monday.

The minister, who was recently reprimanded by the premier for bringing a ‘boot’ to a TV show in a bizarre gimmick, was a United States national at the time of filing nomination papers, the report revealed.

Vawda submitted his nomination papers on June 11, 2018, which were approved by the election body a week later on June 18, the report said. However, the PTI MNA applied for the renunciation of his nationality with the US consulate at Karachi four days after the fact on June 22, 2018, the report revealed.

According to the law, dual nationals are not allowed to contest elections unless they give up their secondary nationality. The Supreme Court had in 2018 disqualified two lawmakers, Haroon Akhtar and Saadia Abbasi, for holding dual nationalities at the time of filing papers to the Election Commission of Pakistan.

“For reasons to be recorded later, we hold and declare that both Haroon Akhtar and Saadia Abbasi were dual nationals on the date when they filed their nomination papers for the Senate elections,” Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar had observed while dictating the order.

Both the members were disqualified under Article 63(1)(c) of the Constitution, which says that a person will be disqualified from being elected or chosen member of parliament if he ceases to be a citizen of Pakistan or acquires the citizenship of a foreign state.

Vawda's derogatory language towards journalists 'unacceptable', says Pakistan press club in Belgium

Pakistani journalists in Belgium have strongly condemned Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda's use of obscene and derogatory language towards senior journalists.

The Pakistan press club Belgium, in a joint statement, said: “Faisal Vawda must apologise for his indecent derogatory language against respected senior Journalists — Wusatullah Khan, Mubashir Zaidi, Zarar Khuhro, Umar Cheema, and Fakhar Durrani.”

PPCB President Chaudhry Imran Saqib and General Secretary Nadeem Butt, condemning the language of the federal minister, said: “[The] minister has crossed all the boundaries of honour and dignity, therefore the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan must take note of his statement; disciplinary action should be taken against Faisal Vawda.”

"Most of the federal ministers had admitted that Vawda was a hot [headed] person,” the statement read, adding: “The prime minister should keep in mind that hot items kept with valuables often cause short circuits which turn all valuables to ashes."

The PPCB president highlighted that PM Imran blames the “mafia” for the country’s crises, but he should also consider the “crises his peers bring home”.

Even the Federal Minister of Information Shibli Faraz could not clean it and he declared his disassociation with it [Vawda’s remarks],” the statement added.

PFUJ demand public apology
Meanwhile, in Pakistan, Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) noted with deep concern the foul language used by Vawda against the renowned journalists and demanded a public apology from the minister.

President PFUJ Shahzada Zulfiqar and Secretary General Nasir Zaidi in a joint statement said that shocking behaviour was displayed by a public office holder and elected representative.

The journalist union has also requested Prime Minister Imran Khan to probe his behaviour, as "he has become a liability for the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)", according to the statement.

“He threatened senior journalists, who were only performing their professional duties by asking for a probe into the minister’s alleged acquiring of assets illegally along with his US nationality. Instead of responding in a civil manner, he threatened and used foul language,” it added.

PFUJ demands public apology from Faisal Vawda for threats to journalists

Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) on Friday noted with deep concern the foul language used by Federal Minster for Water Resources Faisal Vawda on social media against renowned journalists, including Wusatullah Khan, Zarrar Khurro, Mubashir Zaidi, Fakhar Durrani, and Umar Cheema and demanded a public apology from the minister.

Vawda lands in hot waters
The federal minister landed in hot waters on Tuesday night after he hurled abuses and used foul language against a few renowned journalists.

According to a news report published in The News, Faisal Vawda broke his silence after almost 20 months after being persistently approached by Fakhar Durrani for a comment. The investigative reporter for The News had been after him since November 2018, with the intention to ask pertinent questions which Vawda doesn’t want to be asked.

After deciding to respond through Twitter to the journalist, he behaved like a bully instead of acting like a federal minister. He attempted to berate and belittle Durrani, who dug into his past which is riddled with fraud allegations, financial malpractices, concealment of foreign properties and forgery in documents of citizenship, among others.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday disqualified PTI Senator Faisal Vawda as a lawmaker over alleged concealment of his dual nationality at the time of contesting the National Assembly election on a Karachi seat in the 2018 general elections.

The ECP also directed Vawda to return within two months the salary and other benefits he had received as a minister and parliamentarian. It also withdrew the notification declaring Vawda's victory on a Senate seat in polls held last year.

The vote Vawda had cast in the Senate polls held on March 10 as a member of the National Assembly was also "invalid", according to the short order announced by the chief election commissioner.

The ECP said Vawda had submitted a "false affidavit" with his nomination papers.

The ECP had reserved its judgement on petitions seeking Vawda's disqualification on Dec 23 last year. The ECP bench had during the last hearing given Vawda the last chance to defend himself and explain his position.

The News reported in January 2020 that Vawda was a dual national at the time of filing his nomination papers to the ECP to contest the 2018 general elections. Vawda submitted his nomination papers on June 11, 2018, which were approved by the election body a week later on June 18, the report said. However, the PTI MNA applied for the renunciation of his nationality with the US consulate at Karachi four days after the fact on June 22, 2018, the report revealed.

Qadir Khan Mandokhel, Mian Faisal and Mian Asif Mehmood subsequently filed petitions in the ECP on January 21, 2020, seeking Vawda's disqualification. A citizen, Dost Ali, also filed a similar petition in 2020 challenging Vawda's election as a member of the National Assembly. The petition stated that when Vawda filed his nomination papers for contesting elections, he held dual nationality as he was a US citizen as well.

A petition was also submitted to the Islamabad High Court seeking Vawda's disqualification. The court had directed the PTI leader to submit a reply.

Despite the issuance of several notices, he did not respond to the petition. In March 2021, Vawda resigned as an MNA on being elected as a senator and his lawyer contended that a dual nationality case against the lawmaker was "not valid now".

However, the IHC held him responsible for submitting a false affidavit regarding his nationality and directed the ECP to proceed against him under Article 62(1)(f) of the Constitution that deals with disqualification.

In November, the senator filed a petition with the IHC seeking to stay proceedings of the ECP in his disqualification case but the court rejected the appeal.

During the last hearing, Vawda's counsel, Barrister Moeed, had submitted the senator's birth certificate to the ECP, stating that his client was born in California and was a US citizen by birth.

The ECP judgement comes at a time when political temperatures are high in the country and the opposition parties are gearing up for a decisive movement against the present set-up under the PTI, both inside and outside parliament. Political experts believe that the ECP judgement would definitely have an impact on the country's future political scenario.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid on Wednesday said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda would move the Supreme Court (SC) over the disqualification verdict against him by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

Earlier today, the electoral body disqualified Vawda from Parliament for submitting a false affidavit which was in violation of Article 62(1)(f), which pertains to being 'sadiq' (truthful) and 'amin' (honest).

According to the decision, Vawda, who resigned from his MNA seat to become a senator last year, was also told to return all the perks and privileges he received as a member of the National Assembly.

Speaking to the media today in Islamabad, the interior minister said Federal Minister Ali Amin Gandapur's brother, Umar Amin Gandapur, was also given a stay by the apex court yesterday.

"There is no setback to the party. Faisal Vadwa will also move the SC in this regard," he said.

Furthermore, the minister maintained that the opposition would fail if they file a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

“They do not have the numbers,” Rashid said. “They are not even allies as the JUI-F has another political angle and the PPP and PML-N have another. Now they are knocking on the doors of our allies. Prime Minister Imran Khan does not face any threat from the opposition parties.”

The interior minister also chided the opposition for announcing to hold a long march on March 23. He asked them what "were they trying to achieve".

“They are different for what you see them as on TV and in reality. I do not even see them in Islamabad on March 23. After such a long time, the Australian cricket team is coming to Pakistan. The OIC conference will also be held. What work do you have here? If you are so fond of bringing the no-confidence motion, then please do, you will only face defeat.”

The minister confirmed that the J-10C fighter aircraft will perform a fly pass on March 23.

Rashid maintained that there were 70 mega corruption cases in NAB and they have taken their time. The government would try to have the verdict of these cases announced during its remaining tenure, he added.

“Case of the PML-N leader Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz is the strongest. Shehbaz is more corrupt than Nawaz, that is why you see him being more active nowadays,” the minister claimed.

Regarding NADRA, the minister said that the network of its offices would spread to far-flung areas of the country. “Thirteen passport offices will be established in interior Sindh while the succession certificate facility will also be introduced in Azad Kashmir and Balochistan,” he said.

Referring to the premier's announcement of increasing 15 per cent salaries of Rangers and FC, the minister said the Pakistan Coast Guard and Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts were also included in the appraisal.

“I have also requested the prime minister to increase salaries of other departments which includes bureaucracy as well,” the minister said.

Rashid further revealed that the Iranian Interior Minister was also visiting Pakistan next week.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday has reserved its judgment on the maintainability of a petition filed by former minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda against his lifelong disqualification from the parliament by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

The admissibility of the application was heard by IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah earlier today.

During the hearing, Vawda’s lawyer Wasim Sajid informed the court that the PTI leader was disqualified under section 62(1)(f) of the Constitution. "This is a political death sentence," Sajid said.

The lawyer maintained that the ECP "has no power" to issue a disqualification order as it is not a court of law.

He stated that the Supreme Court, in its judgment, had said that the commission could not give a decision of disqualification. He also informed the court that the ECP had de-notified Vawda as a senator after disqualifying him.

In response, Justice Minallah stated that if that is the case then "the death sentence" has been handed over to many politicians.

“The petitioner must prove his case,” he added, warning him that the SC had ruled that submitting a false affidavit was considered contempt of court.

Justice Minallah also inquired if the former minister had given the certificate of renunciation of his American citizenship. "What is the date of the certificate?" he questioned.

The IHC CJ maintained that the petitioner should also prove his pure intentions that when the affidavit was filed, he did not hold dual citizenship.

"That the affidavit was filed in the light of the Supreme Court’s order and the SC issued an order and made the affidavit part of it,” he added.

Subsequently, the court reserved the judgment on the admissibility of the petition.

Last week, the ECP had disqualified PTI leader Faisal Vawda for life from parliament for submitting a false affidavit regarding his dual citizenship.

According to the decision announced on February 9, Vawda, who resigned from his MNA seat to become a senator in elections last year, was also told to return all the perks and privileges he received as a member of the National Assembly.

The PTI senator was disqualified by the election watchdog for violating Article 62(1)(f) which pertains to being "sadiq (truthful) and "amin" (honest). The article provision sets the precondition for a member of parliament and is the same provision under which former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was disqualified by Supreme Court on July 28, 2017, in the Panama Papers case.

PTI leader Faisal Vawda, in a shocking claim on Wednesday, said that a conspiracy was being hatched to assassinate Prime Minister Imran Khan over his refusal to "sell the country".

Vawda made the claim on ARY News show "Off the Record" in response to a question about a letter that Prime Minister Imran Khan brandished at the PTI's March 27 power show in Islamabad and claimed it contained "evidence" of a "foreign conspiracy" to topple his government.

Federal ministers Asad Umar and Fawad Chaudhry had also shared during a press conference on Tuesday that the letter warned of "horrific consequences" if Imran Khan remained that prime minister.

Vawda today said there was a threat to the prime minister's life but remained evasive when asked whether the purported conspiracy to assassinate the premier was mentioned in the letter.

While addressing anchorperson Kashif Abbasi — who was among the journalists with whom the contents of the letter were shared earlier today — Vawda said: "There is a serious threat to Imran Khan sahab's life. I don't know whether you were read that part [in the letter] about the consequences. That is life-threatening."

"There has been a mention of assassinating Imran Khan sahab," Vawda added.

At that, Abbasi sought his confirmation.

"You are saying that the letter also mentions the assassination of Imran Khan?" he asked.

"The impression of assassination ... killing," Vawda replied with a vague remark, moving on to say that the prime minister was told multiple times that a bullet-proof glass needed to be installed before his dais at the March 27 rally. "But as always and as usual, he said my [death] will come when Allah wills. Don't worry about it."

Abbasi asked Vawda if the letter explicitly mentioned the assassination or was it implied.

Vawda, however, did not specify.

"Along with the vote of no-confidence, there is also a threat to his (PM Imran's) life. There [has been a mention] of assassination," he replied.

When Abbasi insisted that he clarified whether it was mentioned in the letter, Vawda replied, "It is connected to this letter. This is not the only letter."

After a brief pause, Abbasi remarked, "You are making a big [statement]."

"I am saying what I know," answered Vawda, adding, "We are concerned and worried about our leader. A conspiracy is being hatched to assassinate Imran Khan."

Vawda continued: "Imran Khan is a brave man. He will never sell off his country. He will not sell off his nation. He will not take dollar. He will not allow the use of bases and will not allow anyone to act as they will."

"And its cost, till now, is the sarkar, that is the government, and his life," Vawda added.

The PTI leader said that threats to Imran Khan's lift existed even prior to his election as the prime minister. "[At big rallies], we used to stand before him as human shields. Agencies used to inform us that there are chances today [of Imran Khan being attacked]," he said.

Vawda further said: "We had asked the prime minister to share this (the threats against his life) as well but he is brave and does not want to present it as his weakness."
