After today's loss against England what things have to line up for Pakistan to get to Semis?

If NZ beat England and Pakistan beat SL, then what happens? Should we hope SL beats NZ and there is a 3 way tie among Pakistan, NZ, and SL? Does it then come down to NRR for us to qualify?
 
I just like the fact that recently all the bs ways pak sneaks through to semis has stopped .most of their victories like the 92 wc was based on poor rules or fluke natural events ..undeserving champions don't make it worthwhile ..

1. Eng beat nz, sl beat nz, pak beat sl. We are through no matter run rate.

2. Eng beat nz, nz beat sl, pak beat sl, we are most likely through as our nrr didnt take big hit today and we have last game so we will know exact target.

3. Nz beat England, sl beat nz, pak beat sl, we are most likely through as again our nrr didnt take big hit and we have last game.

4. All other results like NZ win 2 games or SL win 2 games we are out.

NZ are nice guys and professional. I think they will beat SL. Pak deserves nothing. Too many stupid selection blunders and poor players and chokers.

India's chances of not making it to the semis are greater than their chances of making it. They need to destroy Zimbabwe, WI and hope other results go their way.

India have been a solid tournament team for a while now, it was just a matter of time before they had a bad tournament. They're missing chase master Kohli and they've a few too many passengers in the team including SKY and Rinku.

Pakistan have a few talented individuals but for the most part we're a middling team. We don't have a single quality 140k+ bowler whereas India have 3 (Bumrah, Arshdeep & Suraj). We've not had a...

Scenario A - without NRR .

England to win against NZ
Lanka to win again NZ
Pakistan to win against Lanka.

Scenario - B, depending on NRR

England to win against NZ
If NZ win against SL
Pakistan has to win big against Lanka and make sure NRR is better than NZ

Frankly, we do not deserve to be in the semis with the current set of players, who, apart from a lack of quality power hitting (bar one or two players), also lack game and situational awareness. Shot selection is often poor.

Furthermore, the passion of the past teams is missing. I don't see the same self-belief or the hunger to win among the present players. Something is not quite right with this team.

You have to add your captain and saim ayub as batsman too. I think shadab nawaz and afridi add more value as t20 batsmen
 
It was bound to be happened. The base of this system rely on curruption and parchi's. Pakistan have invested so much in young players for whole two years and at the time of worldcup squad slection all parchi's hijacked the system. Won't be surprised babar gonna play next t20 worldcup lol.

I fully expect Babar Azam to declare retirement from T20 after we are kicked out of World Cup. He knows that’s the most izat way to leave because pitchforks are out for him and he will not be selected ever. So he will do the “honorable” thing to retire so “youngsters” can take over. God Dammit you should have done this 2 years ago.

Just like the country stop relying on others try and stand on your own 2 feet and achieve something out of your own skill your own hard work your own sweat and toil instead of relying on others or taking the credit for what they’ve done where goes the team there goes the country. If we go through we should go through on our own hard work our own wins not sneaking through the back door. Try and have some self-respect for a change if we don’t qualify we’re not good enough realise that and try and work to better yourselves to achieve the goals without relying on others next time.

always comes to that since we aren't good enough ourselves
knew from the moment I saw the squad there were too many passengers and super 8s were our limit
in any case, NZ will beat SL by a bigger margin than us, assuming we even were to win against SL in the first place. NZ vs Eng will just be a top 2 decider

England game wasn't even close. It had been decided the moment Brooks got his 100 in 17th over.

Only way we win vs Lanka is if they play with 9 players and their bowling unit is injured.
 
Pakistan absolutely does not deserve to sneak through to the semis of the expense of others.

We want to see the best teams progressing on merit. And Pskistan certainly isn't one of them
 
We don’t deserve to make it on the basis of this showing. Two games against top teams and both have beat us comfortably while not having their best games.

New Zealand deserve to go through along with England for the sake of the tournament.

It’s finished now. There’s always a chance but let’s face it’s done.

Thrash Sri Lanka and get some dignity from the tournament. We can still at least do that.
