Ahmed Shehzad - the king of dot balls?

This was FIVE YEARS AGO. Seriously, what other team in the world would let a guy stick around on the premise of something he managed 5 years ago and hasn't shown since?
 
Taking too many selfies has made him build muscles in the wrong place(s) as far as batting goes.
 
It got to his head. Like most mediocre players from Pakistan who think of themselves as top class.
 
I have a strong feeling that unless Ahmed does something significant in the upcoming matches his time is up and he can say bye to the team for some time.

Fakhar Zaman and Sharjeel Khan may come in to the squad shortly
 
Unfortunately he might make 30 odd and book his place in the team for the next 12 months. I honestly think shezad and maqsood should be only kept in the team to carry drinks while we experiment a little with some new players. They've had more than enough chances and this odi team is going nowhere.
 
Another failure, another poor innings, another flop.
 
Fan of Shehzad but he needs to go back to the drawing board. Cannot expect to him to fail 9/10 times and still be in the team.

Time for a new young opener.

If he is the king then Azhar has to be the emperor!

On a serious note, both him and Azhar need to go now from LOIs. They can only play test cricket.
 
played a nice little knock today and worked the singles like a champ.
 
Better for Ahmed Shehzad & the Pakistan team if he's given a break from international cricket.

Last 13 matches 178 runs, average 13.69.

Needs to go away and assess his batting and his approach to cricket.
 
even with a flat track and some ordinary balling, his strike rate is 50.
Hopefully, he will improve it , or get out.
 
Azhar Ali plays too many dot balls and doesn't deserve the place in ODI side.

Let's drop him and bring in Ahmad Shehzad :14:

Replace a turtle with a colorful one to win the race against hare.
 
His first 23 balls had 3 singles, two boundaries and 18 dots.

He may well cash in today but better sides and better bowlers will catch him out.
 
This pathetic piece of an opener again wasted this and gave us a poor start.

Now we can't touch 320-350 even against west indies!

Will be immense favoritism if he plays over Fakhar Zaman in the next match.
 
playing for his place.. him and haffez have been the reason for our failures for a long long time.. today he messed up all momentum and then got out and kick the team further in **** hole...hopefully is thrown out for ever soon... worst thing to happen to pak cricket after afridi , u-akmal and haffez ....

i abs hate the akmals bcz of their brainless and immature attitudes but they r not selfish (or not smart enough to b selfish)
 
He creates pressure on everyone and then everybody just bottle it because they cannot deal with the pressure.

Shehzad is just another Farhat. People think because hes young he will improve. This is Shehzads level a mediocre batsman.

At best he will be a good Test opener in SC conditions because one of his ability to occupy the crease and get big hundreds once he's set.

But hes nothing more than a Pakistani Upul Tharanga. An average player who can get you a hundred now and again.
 
Not a huge target, so hopefully Shahzad gets ample time to prove his class.
 
Scored 3 runs but took shine off the new ball by facing 14 balls on a difficult pitch. Should go to the CT
 
That was pretty poor even by his standards Gave a chance, ran into his partner, 2 scoring shots in 14 balls

He never looked like he was going to play anything substancial today
 
Poor innings but one wonders if posters here just wait for him ,Kamran,Umar to fail. Ofcourse he got initially a lot of hype from posters/fans but still.

People still say that he used to be an aggressive batsmen and he was ruined by bad management, but as far as i remember this is how shazhad has alway batted.

He’s always had an issue with strike rotation and now it looks like he also has an issue with making runs in general!

Ahmed Shehzad is a very limited player. Yes he might play a few good looking shots when he gets them in his favorite areas but overall a very limited player who doesn't even have fitness for a t20 game. I saw him getting tired after scoring 20 runs in two games.

his behavior is well documented .. what annoys me is how commentators keep calling him 'talented' and the general constant praise

the truth is he's a below average batsmen, who should really be only playing first class

Its mind boggling that Multan never try another opener. Heck even Quetta drop Asad Shafiq for 1 match but Multan was happy to lose as long as Ahmed Shehzad is playing. :facepalm:

Bigger surprise is that - Gladiators released him for a PSL squad ................ Ul Haq called him back for PAK National T20 team.............
 
Surely this is the end of U. Akmal and A. Shehzad in the PSL? The owners got to wake up and select proper T20 players instead of hacks/dot ball princes.

LQ won't play UA now that they are in a bit of a winning streak. He may not be retained by them for next season. Chances are he will go unsold in the next addition and that would mean the end of his career, thankfully.


Hopefully Shehzad suffers the same fate.

The sad part is that he has played every match. Khurrum Mansoor was dropped by Mikey for his poor S/R even though he had scored 51 runs in the inning before he was dropped. UA was dropped due to his poor behavior/performance and few other players were dropped as well but not Selfie. I didn't expect Wasim and Tom to be this leaniant. I won't be surprised if he plays all the remaining matches and ruins the chances of Multan qualifying for the play offs. At this point if Multan doesn't qualify then they only have themselves to blame.

Hopefully the last team we see him PSL. Atrocious player to say the least and I can't stand his attitude.
 
In his mind he's a superstar and he has been unlucky 10/10 times. Please ignore his 85 strike rate. Anyone who wants him in Pakistan team for any format is not a Pakistani fan. We all know who that is :)
 
He ‘ll play a 25 ball 50 in his last psl game and ask for odi return. Afterall that’s what selectors and most fans look into
 
Very strange selection policy from Multan Sultans regarding Shehzad.

He's obviously been struggling for form.

Maybe he's in the team for his sledging and ability to wind-up the opposition ;)

There doing cuz UA and Shezzy have a big fan following and they know if they play, more people will come and watch the games.
 
I would take Hafeez or even Akmal over Shehzad any day.

Shehzad bats as if we are playing the 90s. He is a selfish and limited player that needs to go.
 
He is putting immense pressure on Fakhar to try and compensate for his dot balls, which will ultimately result in Fakhar's downfall. I can't believe the team management is unable to understand such a simple problem.
 
How does he even get near the team with a t20 strike rate of 116?
 
We must take Hafeez back or else we will have a very weak top order in Eng next year. Ahmed Shahzad is completely out of touch for a while and he needs a long domestic season to get back in form.
