I believe he's been doing a great job blunting the new ball this tournament but somehow his hard work during the opening spells has slipped under the radar.

Just made a valuable 32 (34) in this game. Previous scores include:

1 (7)
37 (37)
27 (35)
11 (24)
38 (33)
0 (6)

Strike rate of 82 as an opener. Who says T20 has changed the game?

He's doing a tremendous job of playing off the new ball and setting up a good platform for batsman down the order.

He's a must have opener for any T20 side in the world.

Surely Quetta Qladiators must be regretting their decision of dropping him while Multan Sultan's management can clap themselves on the back.

He's revolutionising the T20 game to be honest and has changed perceptions of how people look at opening in a t20 innings.

Doesn't get enough credit. As Shezzy says himself, 'Haters gonna hate!'

BreadPakoda I can see him tweeting your thread title on twiter claiming look how much fans appreciate and think highly of me :ashwin

Still think he would be good only in tests .. post head injury lost his aggression in limited overs

He's been poor. No excuses, has beens like Sanga and Watson are showing how it's done and he is only 26 yet scared to take the initiative.

It's become so clear that he really struggles to negotiate the ball if there is no room on offer and his mindset after hitting a boundary is to drop and run.

Clearly not ever going to become the senior striker in an opening pair.

I remember listening/reading one of his interviews where he stated that his job/a job of a great opener is to see of the new ball. He is doing exactly that. It really blows my mind when fans/cricketers he is an aggressive player. The fact of the matter is, he is a very selfish player and his performance shows that.

Since the retirement of his master Afridi; he has been kept away from the international team for the most part. I just pray that he stays away from the international team especially LO.

Even before the incident his S/R was not up to modern standards. He would eat up a lot of balls then he would try to accelerate and get out. He didn't lose any of his ability (no injury to the hands, legs, back, etc. only suffered a minor head injury) with the incident so to say the incident caused his current S/R problems is just rubbish.

In the first time of all time of mine here I don’t know if you guys are trolling or not. Are you seriously giving him props for these innings? This is T20 for gods sake. Not good enough

I think just questioning Shehzads ability to play (new ball or not) would have sufficed.

24 (17) today a bit uncharacteristic inning.
Hoping he sticks around longer next time. Runs will eventually start coming.

10 runs scored behind keeper from top edges so remove that its 14 (15) which includes another six so basically he made 8 runs from 14 balls. That's his innings breakdown. He is a pathetic batsman and should never play for Pakistan in any format.

But Inzi will still select him :misbah
