Hats off to my friend [MENTION=138379]#GreenRoars[/MENTION] for spotting this guy in 4th corporate t20 tournament .
Great job Administrator , hats off . Job very well done .
This man not boy is bowling between 143 to 149 kph . M.A
I Hope and pray his knees and back stays injury free.
To me he is equal in pace with Atif jabbar or even a little quicker than Atif Jabbar .
I recommend you all Ppers to have a look at this guy . He is quick .

This is Altaf Ahmad 2 years ago when he was playing for Peshawar under 23 as per youtube
So he would be 20 to 22 back than . Now he seems 25 to me . He is quick man . Swing ? Regarding this [MENTION=138379]#GreenRoars[/MENTION] can tell better . He is agressive was preferring short stuff . I just wish he stays fit .
 
I will provide his video later IA. I just wish his team qualify for Final, then i will make more videos of him bowling.
 
He was bowling too many bouncers. I haven't seen him enough to make a proper judgement though.

Bouncers are good too but he bowled too many. Just now he bowled 2 good bouncers but then he should have bowled a yorker. Instead he bowled another short ball and got pulled for 6. He needs to bowl bouncers then follow up with good/full length.

He needs to be called at NCA and should be mentored by not mohammad akram but waqar younis .
If you see he is agressive & just needs guidance . Had got a good action as well so he just needs to improve mental aspect of his bowling. We need quick bowler now . Like we had waqar , shoaib , zahid . Now our team needs one right arm fast bowler
 
he bowled yorkers in the first match he played and they were good and swinging. the batsmen couldn't get in line due to swing and pace.

That's encouraging , since I did not see him before today except for a 2 years old video .
 
I wish we had high performance centre like Australia or New Zealand where we could develop players like Atif Jabbar , altaf Ahmad , mohammad abbass & Ali imran pasha under the guidance of biomechanics / human movement consultant & a qualified fast bowling coach .

Yes some proper coaching will help him.
 
He lost the match for HBL by bowling 6 short balls which all got hit for runs (20 runs). His action seems similar to Mitchel Starc though.
 
Guys . He has got pace . Good runup , good action , good follow through , gets bounce .
But does he only ball bouncers ? I mean not even one ball from over number 2 to 4 was in good length or ful length area . Is it a mental thing ? Or he has just got one variety with the ball SHort pitched stuff ??
I am perplexed abit . Since with such a good action isn't he able to pitch it up ?

Match was already lost due to irfan fazil and Abdul ameer's over which two overs costed around 35 runs.
But altaf also followed with the same medicine of short bowling which irfan and Ameer bowled . Even he bowled more short length . A very poor over by altaf in the end .
What do you think ? He can't pitch it up ? Doesn't have ability ? Itna tou Steve Harmison bhee short bowling nai kerta tha :)

hahaha correct. But encouraging thing is he got the pace. He need training, some guidance from NCA staff, and surely the can develop him into International material. Some body should do work with him.

Yes you are right . He seems to be in good shape as well . Also saw him chasing the ball in field and sliding he did not look stiff and non athletic like irfan or talha . Stiffness is a big issue some fast bowlers face but doesn't seem so with him . Hope he learns to ball in corridor of uncertainty & full length deliveries .
Hope Haroon Rashid saw him or he is told about him . Hope so .
You have also got an EYE for "REAL PHAAST BOWLERS" mashaAllah . Well done and keep up the good work .
 
All these bowlers are the second coming of Lillee, Ambrose, Akram, Waqar in domestic but put them in an international match and they turn out to be Asad Ali

Pitching it up shouldn't be an issue for him with his fine action. He reminds me of Starc and Starc does keep it full.

Maybe he lost it under pressure and was clueless. I am sure it cant be a plan otherwise its the dumbest captaincy ever.

He has a nice run up, followed by a good action and a decent follow through.. His pace is good to, and is young full of energy..
Credit goes to Green roars for spotting him..
He needs a bit of work at the NCA and I'm sure he'll be even better.

Green roars should gather some videos, and send them off to the PCB..
It's not just wickets that get you called into the team, but the talent that you possess..

He was spotted first by [MENTION=138379]#GreenRoars[/MENTION].

He is 140 plus and he is one of the fastest right arm bowlers of Pakistan along with Mohammad Sami , Mohammad Abbass and Atif Jabber.

He isnt as quick. From what I saw bilal shah was the quickest in the wasim akram camp n this guy was there too

Bilal shah wa the quickest among those new bowlers who got selected through those trials .

Altaf along with few others were added to wasim's camp by PCB on NCA recommendation .

Bilal Shah got the best bowler award among those newly spotted players who had no domestic experience and we're finds of those trials.

I saw both bowling live in that camp Bilal seemed sharper or maybe altaf was just not straining for too much effort

Might be the case . Did you see Sameen? How quick was he ? What about his run up ?

I dont know about him as there were too many there n I hv only read their names on pp, not seen them play.
I saw Mir hamza bowl n he just looked medium pace n khurrum manzoor looked untroubled against him, infact he played through 14,15 overs without discomfort.

Sarfaraz was next in was easily pulling all those fast bowlers, something he rarely does at the int. Level. It was a bit too easy for him seemed as he was getting boundaries at will.

It's a shame with such good height, beautiful action, and pace, he can't improve his bowling. He should be worked out by NCA coaches, but i know it won't happen. :(

I see, i read all of your fast bowling posts, i knew about him after you made that thread.

We already have wahab riaz who gets hammered in odis, maybe he is a right handed version of wahab riaz who can trouble right handed batters with his reverse swing ;) ?

He don't have control, he only have pace tbh. But proper coaching can make him a better bowler.

He bowled with an Eco Rate of 4.97 in national one day cup. Where majority pacers bowled with an Eco of 5+

Yasir Ararat was asked about two players to watch out for by [MENTION=9]Saj[/MENTION] and he named Zain Abbass and Altaf Ahmed Khan. Other than that he praised Salman Butt , Mohammad Asif , Sadaf Hussain and Fakhar Zaman.

In his 23-01-2016 interview with PP this is what Yasir Ararat said about Altaf Ahmed :

" He is good with the new ball and also bowls some excellent yorkers with the old ball at good Pace "

Every franchise had sports young sports reporters or sports journalists with them. For example Rehan ul Haq & Hasan Cheema for islamabad united and Emad Hameed with peshawar zalmi. They had this role of talent scouting.

One of the picks of Imran Butt (test opener) one was hussain tallat (18) who has average Fc stats and on camera his technique was exposed in QEA trophy.

They could not see the fastest baller from peshawar ? Altaf had a decent Fc and list A season prior to PSL and he was one of the most economical bowlers in national one day cup after Asif and Yasir Arafat mentioned his fast yorkers in Death overs in his blog too. Which is needed is T20 cricket.

One dejected pacer has left cricket. Other only gets 3,4 games per year. Talking about two who can click 140+.

This Altaf had represented peshawar under 23 three years ago yet he could not break through though he was quick. Than thankfully he was playing ramzan T20 cup in Karachi amongst ordinary players but Geo super was telecasting those matches live and it was [MENTION=138379]#GreenRoars[/MENTION] who spotted him and told me about him than I had a look and he definitely was fast with a quick aggressive runup and follow through like pace ballers. Than after getting camera eye he was approached directly by HBL and he played for them last season. Last year he was also in wasim akram's camp for upcoming fast bowlers.

Leave it man, it was a time when i was freak, despite of hell of problems, i used to visit the grounds, see the players, i have seen Shah, Junaid, Gul, and all other players with my eyes, my register is full of names which i think even our domestic coaches know.

And now i quit :)

Just keep looking for rookie quickies, InshAllah they will come in spotlight. I am looking for a way to get a dailymotion video in google news. This way that video will be picked by lots of news sites. But i cannot promise anything right now :(.

Besides kaptaan is going to start a pace hunt program from feb 20 :D
 
Glad that he is improving day by day.

Took 4 wickets in the first innings and was the only bowler who was threatening. Hope he clicks in the Odi's aswell.
 
Fail to understand the need of bringing a new ball fast medium bowler as a 3rd change

If the wicket is dry than don't select him. Why would you select a number 11 batsman in playing eleven if you do not intend to give him new ball or atleast bring him 1st change ?

Altaf Ahmed Khan was amongst Top 6 Fastest bowlers of PTI Fast Bowlers Talent Hunt Program aswell. Amongst the Fastest right arm he was in top 3 along with Zahid and Bilal.


He is 3-4 years elder than his CI profile age.



Yasir Arafat loved his fast yorkers and control in last List A tournament. He has good fitness.




Altaf Ahmed impressed Imran Khan alot on the finals day. He was also part of Wasim Akram's camp aswell.



Again him getting ignored for National One Day Cup was a Pcb failure.
