"America is the best country in the world. By far"

Read this yesterday and heard about this last year, this was absolutely disgusting but truth is that a lot of people do view Muslims like that over here, and it's mainly because of ignorance. There's very little exposure to Muslims here unlike in England and other western countries.

Very upsetting read, wish he didn't enlist

How the Death of a Muslim Recruit Revealed a Culture of Brutality in the Marines

That guy must have been very naive if he thought he could join the marines and it wouldn't be a traumatic experience. It's not for the faint-hearted, any sign of weakness would be pounced upon and the treatment dished out considered necessary to toughen him up. Soldiers aren't referred to as grunts for no reason, sounds like it was the last place he should have been.

Would people be more comfortable with having the communist country as a superpower instead?

Have you read on what the US did in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, ... in terms of civilian casualties (not even mentioning the dozens of coup d'Etat which generally resulted into civil strife and thus 1000s of deaths, not mentioning dictatorships) ?

Who could do worse anyway, "communist" or not, in our times ?

Yet they have opened up their border to every country in the world accepting millions of immigrants giving them opportunity to better their lives. Not only that they receive millions of visitors and students as well. America is the true multicultural nation on the globe.

I respect the country that both preaches and practices freedom and liberty over evil communist empires

The United States is the only industrialised nation that doesn't even guarantee workers paid family leave or paid annual leave.

Gives the phrase "American exceptionalism" a new meaning.

It known as the leader of the free world for a reason. Endless freedom here.

Land of equality
Lol please tell the African-Americans in your country who were held as slaves, fought a Civil War over the right to own slaves, introduced Jim Crow laws, segregated for decades and now have police officers who disproportionately shoot dead UNARMED blacks with impunity.

Endless freedom in a country that has a higher incarceration rate in the world, even outstripping China and other dictatorships.

US is also one of the most unequal countries amongst the developed economies when you look at the Gini Coefficient.

They have "opened up their border" to millions of the best - they have drained India's and China's best talent for their own benefits, the same way they drained Nazi scientists (see "Operation Paperclip") as well as Jewish émigré scientists from Europe - it was not to create a "multicultural" society where Nazis and Jews would live peacefully next to other, but for their own imperialistic expansion.

And the tourists and students you're talking as if the US govt. pay them to come - they're the ones to come and in fact fuel US economy.

All of that doesn't justify the imperialistic predation in much of the world (some cynics would say they have killed more peoples from Asia and Africa than they have welcomed anyway).

United Kingdom. Healthcare free, crazy benefits system. Would love to live in Canada though .
