PDM have lost the parliament, by elections, heart & mind and 5th generation warfare.

According to Imran Riaz, convicted criminal nawaz has given the green light to maryams media cell staff to change their pfps to Imran Khan pictures then insult Pak army which would create a rift between PTI and army.

He also said that when he uploaded a vlog on Usman Buzdars alleged corruption, he was getting online abuse, upon verification, it was by accounts maryam and other pmln chors followed, again to create a false impression that abuse is by PTI supporters.

Literally, everything including the allegations against Shehbaz Gill's drivers wife are fake, these are the supreme court attacking party's true colours.

Imran Riaz in yesterdays freedom of speech seminar reminded all traitors that he and ARY reporters went out of their way in criticizing those who arrested and attacked pdm chor loving journalists like Hamid Mir. He also mentioned that there are so many embassies in Islamabad, none of them said a word when he was being abused and unjustifiably arrested, but when their paid agents from geo are arrested/harassed, they immediately speak up. He said the reason for this is that likes of himself and ARY are pro Pakistan and army and not lifafas of foreign interests, hopefully army can realize this.

The human rights crowd have been exposed just like their pay masters. No protests, no nothing. I guarantee if the coup came up in the open with the fake Hafiz as the Chief Martial Law administrator, the Foreign govts would love it.

Senior journalist and anchorperson Imran Riaz Khan was reportedly taken into custody by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday.

According to lawyer Mian Ali Ashfaq, the anchorperson was taken into custody by the agency’s Lahore office.

The anchorperson's official Twitter account also confirmed the development.

"Imran Riaz Khan was arrested by FIA and taken into custody at an unknown place, the airport staff misinformed the public at the scene and escorted him via backdoor entrances," read a tweet posted by the Riaz's social media team.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) official Twitter account also shared a video that reportedly showed the journalist at the FIA’s office.

In July 2022, the anchorperson was arrested from Islamabad Toll Plaza. He had been implicated in a slew of cases which he claimed were motivated by his refusal to “stop speaking the truth”.

Reportedly, he was arrested in a case lodged at the Attock police station and was taken to the same district.

A Lahore court dismissed on Friday the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) case against TV anchor Imran Riaz Khan and ordered his immediate release.

He was arrested from Lahore on Thursday on charges of “hate speech” and making a “violence-inducing statement” aimed at creating “a rift between the general public and the state institutions”.

The BOL News anchor was taken into custody at the Allama Iqbal Airport from where was trying to go to the UAE. The FIA told him that his name was on the blacklist and he was subsequently handed over to the FIA cybercrime wing which had not produced him before a court of law for physical remand until today.

The FIA registered the first information report under sections 11 (electronic forgery), 20 (malicious code), and 24 (legal recognition of offenses committed in relation to information systems) of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes (Peca) 2016. Likewise, sections 131/109 (incitement to mutiny), 500 (punishment for defamation) and 505 (public mischief) of the Pakistan Penal Code have also been added to the FIR.

According to the FIR — a copy of which is available with Dawn.com — Khan was “found involved in publicly making a hate speech at a conference which falls under the territorial jurisdiction of FIA cyber crime cell”.

The complaint went on to say that the speech was further publicly shared on social media platforms nationally and internationally. The contents of Khan’s speech, as mentioned in the FIR, cast aspersions on former army chief Gen Bajwa’s parting pledge that the military would remain apolitical.

Today’s hearing
The BOL News anchor was presented in the court of Judicial Magistrate Ghulam Murtaza Virk today amid tight security. He was represented by Barrister Mian Ali Ashfaq.

At the outset of the hearing, Khan’s counsel contended before the court that the FIA had not given any reason for seeking his client’s physical remand.

“Imran Riaz Khan has been accused of indulging in hate speech,” he said. “The request states that Imran Riaz’s speech falls under the territorial jurisdiction of the FIA.”

He said the FIA’s use of the words “territorial jurisdiction” was “noteworthy”, pointing out that the words “legal jurisdiction” were not used.

Khan’s counsel urged the court to dismiss the case against his client. “Twenty-one cases of a similar nature are already registered against him.”

The lawyer told the court that his client had stated that “they will keep losing one by one”, highlighting that it was not a crime to make this statement.

He further asked the court whether it was a crime to ask the public whether or not the army was involved in politics.

Khan’s counsel further said that merely telling one to “stay within your constitutional limits” was not a crime. “Imran Riaz did not target any institution.”

The lawyer said the case was registered in November last year. “The FIA office is 500 metres away from where Khan works. FIA officials watch Imran Riaz’s vlogs regularly then why did they not take action earlier?”

Calling the FIA a “handicapped” agency, the counsel said his client accepted that he had passed the statement on the basis of which the case was lodged against him.

“My client considers the statement, on which the case was lodged, a crown for his head,” he said, alleging that the FIA requested the 14-day remand to obtain the Twitter and YouTube password of Khan’s accounts.

Advocate Ashfaq concluded his arguments by stating there was “no need for further recovery” because his client had already confessed that he had passed the statement.

Journalist Imran Riaz, police clash at Gaddafi Stadium gate

A clash took place between the police and TV anchor Imran Riaz who tried to enter the Gaddafi Stadium along with some men who were wearing masks of the slain journalist Arshad Sharif’s face to show solidarity with him on Sunday.

The situation turned tense when the masked men raised slogans in favour of Arshad Sharif and tried to make forced entry into the stadium along with Imran Riaz.

A video clip of the incident showed both sides thrashing each other and the TV anchor’s heated arguments after a police inspector declared that wearing the mask showing the ‘face’ of the late journalist on the premises of the stadium was a violation of the policy/regulations of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Imran Riaz Khan, a senior journalist, and anchor, was detained by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) at the Sialkot Airport on suspicion of inciting violence.

The TV host was detained as violent clashes broke out in the South Asian nation between security forces and supporters of PTI chief Imran Khan, who was detained on Tuesday in a graft case. Imran Khan is a well-known critic of the current government and military establishment.

At least five people have died across the nation as protests erupt nationwide, and hundreds, including senior police officials, have been injured. Chaotic scenes have been witnessed.

Imran Riaz was reportedly taken into custody at an unidentified location after being detained by the FIA at the Sialkot Airport.

The internet is awash with videos of journalists being detained by law enforcement, who even stole another journalist’s phone as he attempted to record the incident.

Imran’s lawyer Mian Ali Ashfaq also shared a tweet, confirming the arrest of the defiant journalist.

Imran Riaz was detained in Lahore earlier in February as a result of his involvement in a number of cases that he claimed were politically motivated as a result of his refusal to conceal the truth.

He went out of his way to demonstrate in large numbers but peacefully. Obviously in a fascist state run by criminals, any demonstration is inciting violence because they don't want an opposition

Suspending the 'detention notification' of renowned anchorperson Aftab Iqbal, the chief justice of the Lahore High Court on Friday directed concerned authorities to effect his immediate release.

Meanwhile, Chief Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti ordered the Inspector General of Prisons to present journalist Imran Riaz Khan by 6:00 PM in court today.

The journalists, who are both staunch and vocal supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and his policies, were arrested by the police on Thursday.

The government had swung into action and started a crackdown against the PTI supporters after the arrest of former premier Imran Khan from the premises of the Islamabad High Court on May 9.

Imran Riaz Khan was reportedly arrested at Sialkot Airport for allegedly inciting violence during clashes between security forces and PTI supporters, while anchor and television host Aftab Iqbal was detained from his Lahore farmhouse the same day.

The Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) had condemned the arrest of the two anchorpersons, noting that attempts to curb the freedom of expression cannot be tolerated and demanding the immediate release of the journalists.

LHC Chief Justice Bhatti was presiding over two petitions challenging the unlawful detention of the two journalists. The petitions requested that the detainees be presented before the court following their recovery from the unlawful police custody.

As proceedings got underway, anchorperson Aftab Iqbal was presented before the court. Chief Justice Bhatti questioned the legal basis for detaining the journalist.

The law officer responded that the deputy commissioner, considering the current law and order situation, had ordered his custody under Section 3MPO. The officer argued that the deputy commissioner possessed the authority to detain someone under the mentioned section.

Chief Justice Bhatti enquired about Aftab Iqbal's health, to which he responded affirmatively.

Nonetheless, suspending the detention notification, the Chief Justice ordered the release of Aftab Iqbal. He also sought replies from the relevant authorities by the next hearing date.

In response to another court query concerning Imran Riaz, Inspector General Police (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar informed the court that the journalist had also been detained under Section 3MPO and had since been released from jail. The deputy commissioner had issued directions to release Imran Riaz Khan after he assured that he would not act against the Constitution.

Upon hearing this, Chief Justice Bhatti ordered the Inspector General of Prisons to present Imran Riaz Khan by 6:00 PM in court today.

IRK said over and over again that people should demonstrate peacefully. This criminal regime can't handle any criticism or demos.

Another dumb move by PDM/Army chiefs. Its impossible to stop views/info getting to the public.

PTI chief fears for life of journalist Imran Riaz Khan

Deja vu

A bad bad deja vu. Hope he is safe and will be released soon!

I am hearing some very upsetting rumours which I won't mention.

I will pray that Allah SWT return Imran back to his family as soon as possible.

Why was he trying to run abroad after inciting the masses against PDM+Army?

I would suggest read up on the issue and then come back with something which people can discuss with you.

We are talking about life and death of a person.

He is a journalist who can say what he likes, just like a multitude of journalists in the world and also in Pakistan. They don't need to be arrested or killed for that.

Now start again.

I asked a genuine question. PTI workers were out on the streets fighting/damaging property. So why are their journalists trying to flee from the country?

The Government should not be arresting journalists.

But my question is, why was he trying to flee the country in the first place? What has he said that makes him feel unsafe in Pakistan right now?

You start from the point of view that we are serfs with no right to anything including life. You laughed at the murder of Zille Shah and Arshad Sharif. It shows your appalling morals. He said PKs should demonstrate against the illegal arrest of IK by the commandos and the ISI. Watch his videos and you will see but he also knew the Junta would come after him. He is a close friend of Arshad Sharif, the guys whose murder you laughed at. He had already sent his family out of PK after threats and arrests last year from the same Junta.

I have a genuine question to you, why have the elections not taken place in Punjab and KP? Any ideas? I have another genuine question for you, why was Arshad Sharif killed? Or Zille Shah. Is property worth more than the life of innocent people

The Lahore High Court (LHC) will resume hearing a petition seeking the release of anchorperson Imran Riaz Khan as the journalist’s whereabouts remain unknown for the fourth day on Sunday.

In the court hearing on Friday, Chief Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti had ordered police to produce a video record of anchorperson Imran Riaz leaving Sialkot jail after Riaz’s mother told the court he remained missing.

Speaking to Dawn.com, Riaz’s lawyer Advocate Rana Maroof Khan said that his counsel was arrested by the Punjab police under the Maintenance of Public Order rules — which allows preemptive detentions to ensure law and order — at the Sialkot airport on May 11 — two days after violent protests broke out across the country following PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s arrest — and taken to the Cantt police station.

He was later shifted to the Sialkot prison.

“During this time, his family had no contact with him. Afterward, certain rumours started circulating on social media so a writ petition was filed through lawyers in the LHC on the morning on May 12.

“During the hearing, the honourable chief justice directed the attorney general to present Riaz in court by afternoon the same day,” he said.

However, the lawyer went on to say, when the hearing resumed the Punjab DPO told the court that Riaz was arrested at the airport while trying to fly abroad and shifted to jail as the district government issued his detention order.

“The official added the government had withdrawn the detention order after the anchorperson submitted an affidavit and he had said the anchorperson was released from jail,” Maroof said, adding that the court had expressed displeasure over the statement and directed the official to submit CCTV footage of the journalist leaving Sialkot jail.

He told Dawn.com that the court will resume hearing the case tomorrow (May 15). “We hope sanity will prevail and Imran Riaz will be either released or brought to court on Monday.”

The lawyer also said that according to prison rules, a person could only be released from jail before sunset and not later than that. “The police in their statement have said that Riaz was released from jail at 10pm, so they will be answerable for this in court.

“They will also have to give details regarding who Riaz was handed over to after arrest,” Maroof added.

He further warned the officials that the court could take strict action if the police or jail authorities tries to mislead the court.

On the other hand, the PTI has also raised concerns over the “disappearance of Imran Riaz”.

In his first video message after release a day earlier, Imran feared that Riaz would be tortured just like Azam Swati and other PTI leaders. “We also fear that he will be killed … and if anything happens to him the same will be responsible … those who killed Arshad Sharif.”

So reason for arrest would be:

"He refused to stay back and decided to leave Pakistan"

And the other classic

Those PKs he encouraged to demonstrate are all getting identified and locked up

So anyone who demonstrates in Pakistan is locked up and killed/beaten for fun.

I think there is nothing to discuss with you bro.

LHC suspends SHO who arrested anchorperson Imran Riaz

The Lahore High Court has suspended the station house officer (SHO) who arrested Imran Riaz Khan and also issued a contempt of court notice against him while hearing a plea seeking the anchorperson’s recovery.

Observing that the Sialkot Cantt police station SHO had arrested Khan without receiving his detention orders from the Sialkot deputy commissioner (DC), LHC Chief Justice Ameer Bhatti issued the above orders and sought a response from the Sialkot DC by 1pm today.

During the hearing, Justice Bhatti expressed his displeasure at the anchorperson’s arrest from Sialkot airport, asking the SHO how Khan was a threat to national security when he was travelling abroad.

“Why did the police take an unlawful action? We might as well then shut down the law and make all actions of the police the law,” he remarked.

The Lahore High Court has ordered Punjab Inspector General Dr Usman Anwar to apprise it of progress on the recovery of anchorperson Imran Riaz Khan by tomorrow.

LHC Chief Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti expressed his dissatisfaction over the police’s progress in the case. “The police have done nothing till now […] The police wrote letters to the agencies and went home to sleep.”

Justice Bhatti then summoned the Punjab IG to appear in court within two hours. When he appeared, Dr Anwar told the court that the Inter-Services Intelligence was assisting the police with the case and that he had talked to the Intelligence Bureau as well.

He offered to constitute a “special team” and sought further time to complete the investigation.

Horrific news and cover ups coming through in this case.

Today IG Punjab was summoned in LHC to inquire on Imran Riaz. IG said that Imran Riaz himself is hiding and is not held by authorities. The LHC judge said that there is CCTV footage that was played in courtroom that showed Imran Riaz being picked up. LHC judge asked the video to be played again in court today at which point firstly the USB was not working and on second attempt when USB worked the footage of CCTV was deleted from there. The same footage police says is not with them either.

Imagine this an evidence played in court and then sealed as a court property is tampered within court premises and police blatantly lies about this video as well which was provided by them only in previous hearing.

The LHC chief justice actually cried in the court room today when this drama unfolded. The session will continue after Friday prayers but I personally believe there is a big cover up happening because something big is hidden there.

Journalism in Pakistan is at threat. Pro PTI voices are squashed and neutral journalists being made to tow the line since past week. Shameful.

Anchorperson Imran Riaz’s father became teary-eyed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday, pleading for mercy, as the whereabouts of his son remain unknown since his arrest on May 11 from the Sialkot airport.

“For God’s sake, have some mercy on your country. Don’t play with the law,” an emotional Muhammad Riaz implored during the hearing of a plea against Imran’s arrest, without addressing anyone in particular.

Pleading his case before LHC Chief Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti, he said, “It is clear as day. Everyone in this court is aware … All of them know that they handed [him] over.

“This is the truth, this is the government of Pakistan, people go missing here.

“Have mercy, have mercy.”

Muhammad added: “His (Imran Riaz’s) crime was speaking the truth. Kill [him] for once so that our restlessness ends. I am the father who taught [him] to speak the truth. Feel my pain.”

DAWN

According to some youtubers he is with the agencies. And I fear we may not ever see him alive again. But for some it will be a time to rejoice because their hate for Khan and anyone who supports him is so deep.

This is the establishment’s modus operandi. They have been doing it for a long long time and won’t stop because no one can dare question them. Pakistan has emerged as the worst fascist state in recent history.
May the oppressors and their supporters rot in hell.

Most of the times I fee they are worst then Pharoah and hypocrites who call themselves Muslims but their actions are just evil as Iblees.

They have forgotten the "Judgment Day" or maybe in reality they don't believe in it.

They shouldn't forget what happened to pharaoh or what will happen to iblis too. Nothing lasts forever. This time will pass too. The country's economy is tanking. People can't find two meals a day and these idiots want to distract us with this drama. They are stuck. What do they do? Kill Khan and there will be a reaction from their friends abroad. Incarcerate him and there is a reaction at home and the economy goes to hell further. Also everytime they cracked down the PTI gets stronger. They are still playing the 90's plays.

For every one PTI member who leaves there are others ready to take their place.

What they are doing to IRK etc is a disgrace and there will be a reckoning at some point.

Don't think we should assume that Nouzobillah Imran is free of sin etc.

The main point is that any zulm, from anyone, will be punished in this or the next world.

Wow. So the opposition are Pharoah and Iblis, but Imran is some saint?

Absolutely..Imran isn't a Saint but in this world there is a clear distinction between a zalim leader or ruler and one who is not.

Wow. So the opposition are Pharoah and Iblis, but Imran is some saint?

Didn't say he was a Saint. You put those words there. Yes these rulers are zalims. And if you support them you are a zalim too.

Wow. So the opposition are Pharoah and Iblis, but Imran is some saint?

Think you want to hear that.

Question isn't if Imran is a saint.

When there is zulm, Allah kee Lathee falls on the oppressor, not today but at a time when they expect it the least and then there is that little matter of Azab-e-Qabar.

Hope Imran is wrong.

Fascist state. At least prove this man is alive and well to his family, poor guys must be seriously distressed.

Ive watched a few of his recent videos, very smart chap who should be in government as an Int media rep.

Hope Imran is wrong.

Sadly its near impossible he isnt being tortured and as they are not providing proof of life, he may not be alive.

Killing journalists is easier for these evil people than killing senior politicians. They like to send a message to others, silence people from speaking the truth. They are a big risk for them, the pen truly is mightier than the sword esp in todays world.

Is Imran Riaz Khan even alive? There must be a reason why they are not producing him in court. In any other civilized country, the police authorities and people in government would have been behind jail by now.

In any civilsed nation, a special police force would be arresting and rescuing this journalist. In Pak the so called police are mute.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) gave an ultimatum to the Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar on Saturday to produce 'missing' anchorperson Imran Riaz Khan by Monday.

The matter was heard by LHC Chief Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti who remarked that it was time for the proceeding to come to its “logical end”.

During the proceedings, the IGP and the superintendent of Sialkot jail appeared to hold each other responsible for the lack of security outside the prison. When the court ordered to play the video clip, CJ Bhatti noted that as the anchorperson came out of the jail there was no security present outside.

The jail superintendent maintained that the area outside the Sialkot jail came under the Punjab police's jurisdiction, whereas his team was responsible for the inside. However, when IGP Anwar was questioned, he asked if the jail authority could produce any letter proving that security was requested from the Punjab police. The IGP argued that police officials are normally deployed at the request of jail authorities.

On a query about the police’s progress, the IGP updated the court on what the police had done and wanted to do next. The IGP’s arguments were similar to those he gave during proceedings held on May 19 - a day earlier.

On May 19, the IGP argued that the police had initiated the process of geo-fencing, collected data from telecom companies, gathered CCTV footage, contacted NADRA for the identification process, and got other agencies – such as the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) – on board. He assured the court that the police would make all efforts to trace the anchorperson.

During the proceeding, Imran Riaz Khan’s counsel, advocate Azhar Siddique, told the court that he had evidence regarding the first police raid conducted at the anchorperson’s house. He asked the IGP why Riaz’s house was raided when according to the police there was no FIR against him.

Advocate Azhar Siddique told the court that all exercises of the police proved malafide on their part.

CJ Bhatti finally directed IG Punjab to come up with a comprehensive response and produce Imran Riaz by Monday.

Earlier, IGP Anwar failed to satisfy the LHC CJ as he struggled to respond to a barrage of questions regarding "missing" anchorperson Imran Riaz Khan.

At times, the IGP appeared clueless about how to answer the chief justice's questions.

During court proceedings, the IGP Punjab was repeatedly asked why the police system had failed to locate the anchorperson. In response, he dismissed the notion that the anchorperson had been kidnapped. Instead, he suggested, the anchorperson may have deliberately hidden himself, making it difficult for the police to trace him.

Is this possible? Has the country literally gone to the dogs?

Is Shehbaz Sharif's gov this incompetent?

Punjab Inspector General Dr Usman Anwar told the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday that there was no trace of anchorperson Imran Riaz Khan — whose whereabouts remain unknown since his arrest at Sialkot airport on May 11 — at any police department across the country.

The senior official made the remarks as the LHC heard a plea seeking Imran’s recovery. At the previous hearing, the LHC had again directed Punjab police to recover and present the anchorperson. However, police failed to present Imran before the court during today’s hearing.

Imran was among the individuals apprehended in the wake of the protests that erupted following the arrest of the PTI chairman.

Later, his lawyer told Dawn.com that a writ petition was filed on May 12 over the anchorperson’s arrest and the LHC directed the attorney general to present him before the court the same day. But, after its orders were not followed, Sialkot police were given a 48-hour deadline to recover Imran.
