He's made it clear that he had issues with Waqar Younis and Misbah-ul-Haq.

Now with both of them out of the picture, what should the selectors do with Mohammad Amir, given that it's likely that he will take back his retirement from international cricket.

Does he deserve a recall? Should he remain on the sidelines?

Ramiz is not going to let a tainted player don the national flag again. Good riddance for Pakistans sake. This is why Sharjeel has been left out in addition to his fitness issues

Amirs life and career is a classic example of how to consistently shoot yourself in the foot

He’ll be back for next years WT20, no doubt about that. If Misbah and Waqar had left earlier then we could’ve seen him this year.

If Ramiz's stance regarding the tainted players is still the same then Amir might not be in a good position irrespective of him taking his retirement back or not. We will have to see Ramiz's take on it.

I think it's over for Amir.

Except of a mere small chance of showing some swing and potency when the games are played at certain venues in England only, his bowling is finished.

We need to move on.

The T20 squad can still be changed until October, bring him back, axe Rauf or Wasim Jnr - Amir with his cutters and change of pace will be crucial in UAE.

He should never be picked for pakistan again

I think rameez will call him back. Just a gutt feeling

Need to move on from him. We have good bowlers, need to work with a competent coach.

Ramiz ain't letting any fixers back into the side.

Doubt it wouldn't want Amir back, he's done nothing to deserve it.

You can make a perfectly strong Xi without his services.

Amir is not even good anymore...

I don't know why people want him back. He is good at controlling and that is about it. Pakistan already have too many bowlers that struggle to take wickets.

Leave aside the fixing issue, Amir is not the same effective bowler anymore - so whats the point of even talking about him? That ship has sailed.

When was the last time he took a wicket?

His career is done. He doesn't seem to have much care or commitment for Intl. cricket.

and what would Rameez do if Amir reverses his retirement decision?

Doesn't deserve to be selected just on performances alone. it would be pathetic seeing our selectors give Amir a chance with him having no performance of note within the last year and a bit

Just don't let him don the national colors again. Don''t set wrong precedent AGAIn by picking him. We have a good bowling unit with Shaheen, Hasan as the core and we're not in any dire need of Amir anyway.

If he is going to bowl his cross seam / slower ball rubbish for 70% of his deliveries, I don’t want him back and he should not be be brought back.

If over time, he proves his fitness, improves his bowling, adds some pace then of course, just like any other bowler he can be considered. But no way he’ll sort himself out before the wt20

Forget what Amir wants to do regarding retirements and his relationships . .

What has he done to even deserve a call up? He's not even in the top 4 or 5 fast bowlers in the PSL . . He got dropped in the Hundred . . Not sure when he did anything of note . . his fast bowling has been in decline for a few years now . . all he has done is hide behind 1 problem after another . . from being out of cricket for 5 years, to too much cricket, to not the right environment, to a lot of pressure, to I don't know what not . .

So before he even opens his mouth, better start showing he is even worth considering by consistently performing

he has not performed recently, so no.
If he starts to perform in the games he takes part in, he can be considered for selection.

It would be best if there was some communication between the two and Amir cleared up his plans and Ramiz outlined what he expects from him.

I'm not convinced that Amir even has the fitness to bowl 4 overs these days. Forget International Cricket.

Ramiz has made his stance on courrupt players very clear, thats why shajeel was left out.
This may actually be the final nail in the coffin for any prospect of amir returning

Perfect he doesn't warrant a recall in my eyes.

Ramiz won't recall him, EVER. He left sharjeel out of WT20 squad just coz of his tainted past even tho his performances ain't that bad.

Ramiz cleared out bigtime match fixers in the early-2000s as the CEO of Pakistan cricket. These two bit Sharjeels and Amirs won't bother him much.

It's hardly ever truly over for a Pakistani player, tbh. Amir needs to put in some consistent and strong performance and he'll be back in no time.
