Another series finale and another defeat...

More questions than answers for the management...

Another lacklustre performance by our batsman on a batting friendly wicket.

I could go on and on but you get the point. It seems like our batting is totally dependent on Imam and Babar and when both of the have an off day - we crumble and fall apart.

Fakhar and Hafeez remain as unreliable and inconsistent as always.

Malik is a walking wicket outside the subcontinent.

Rizwan - just like all of our other WK batsman - is just not good enough.

Imad has shown signs of improvement but him and Shadab are nowhere near good enough compared to the gun all-rounders from the other teams. Shadab is scared of fast bowling and cannot bat to save his life.

Our bowling is just ineffective on flat placid wickets.

So what do we do from here? Any short term fixes?

Discuss!

3rd game: unable to get the ball off square from an excellent platform. Tries a swivel pull with his elbows stuck to his chest and his entire body turning 90 degrees and lobs it to mid wicket. Then curses himself on tv just to show he tried and is disappointed.

5th game: couldn't hit Tahir's dollies and is stuck with absolutely no timing. Totally out of depth. Then tries for a second run when it isn't there. It's his call. He's going to the danger end. He would have been gone anyway even if he ran to the bowlers end. Releases the pressure from himself and poses as a martyr as if he was gonna score if not for the run out.

These are Malik's tricks. Perception is reality and he will make you believe hes just unlucky when he's totally out of depth.

You want a short term fix? Get rid of dead wood. The guy averaged 25 with an SR of 69 since Jan 2018 against top 8 teams. He will trick you in believing he's valuable but he's not. Instead get a proper batsman in the team that can score runs.

I think Pete posted that in bilateral its been since 2002-2003 that PCT hasn't won deciding matches in bilateral.

All the games were lost due to our garbage bowling, yet Inzi the revolutionary kept out 'injured' Junaid. Mashallah.

As per some fellow poster's after the world cup. These losses are simply in preparation for the WC and should be ignored. We need to focus on the bigger picture aka the WC.

Bowling has not able to exploit newbie SA batting line up.

SA lost ,

2 wickets
5 wickets
2 wickets
10 wickets
3 wickets

If not for Amla selfish knock, Pakistan would have won one match when bowlers took 10 wickets. Not able to pick wickets has been a major factor.

I'm satisfied with the performance, Pak lost this serious by a narrow margin of 3-2, this this could have gone either way. Pak isn't a contender for the WC, but still is a decent OD team.Pak can improve the team by removing non performers and including a genuine spinner like Zafar gohar .

Once Inzi, Sarfraz, and Mickey are sacked and Wasim Khan begins his tenure.

Get a sensible captain, a coach who understands how subcontinent cricket is played (USE SPINNERS MORE). A cool headed captain. And a selector who can give chances to our young talent like Saad Ali, Zafar Gohar, Saud, Usman Saluhuddin, etc.

And finally. Wasim Khan will help professionalize the PCB. It's gonna take 1-2 years at least.

Talent pool is dry. These are our best. We are just a poor team.

No they aren't. Have you seen how much better our A team batted vs England Lions and NZ A? Both teams even had several international bowlers in them

If you keep your expectations minimum, you won't be tortured.

I fully expected this team to crumble today and they didn't disappoint.

"Professionalism" is a huge term in my field and I don't take any team/person seriously which lacks the same discipline in their life.

You may get the odd "all the stars aligned win" once in your career, but you won't be doing it all the time without professionalism.

Goran Ivanisevic won the 2001 Wimbledon Championships, "the only man to do so, as a wild card holder". But he never won a Slam again.

Many players have won the Wimbledon since then including Nadal, Federer and Djokovic repeat times since 2001.

That's the difference between a miraculous team and a consistent team.
