Been a KKR fan since Akhtar days, even tho Gambhir strained my relationship with the team a bit, he is done and dusted and am enjoying their brand of cricket still.

Anyone else following the league? I’m also curious to see how Gayle will do ever since he has been going on hitting sprees post England series.

I’m not watching it religiously or anything, just keeping up with it to see upcoming talent as it is the highest quality league out of the others.

What about the Indian posters who have gone to the actual games? How is the fanfare and off field entertainment different than normal games?

I don't follow that circus, march madness and the tailend of the nba season is so much more interesting. I don't see how Pakistanis can be invested in something that doesn't involve them, Pakistani cricketers have been blackballed from the IPL and there's nothing about that league that ties it to Pakistan, like what does a Pakistani have to do with chennai supercobras or delhi dosadevils?

Didn't know Pakistanis were involved in NCAA or NBA?

No Pakistani players in IPL, then no following the IPL.

No idea who are playing for them , but kings Xi Punjab is the only team that gets somewhat of an attention from me.

Wasn't IPL played in April? Maybe due to the WC it has started early and coming to the topic, I don't even know the names of the teams playing, so how can I support them?

Nope; I have gairat. Never followed since they snubbed Pakistani players. Recent tensions, further made me boycott anything Indian. Nothing against the Indian people but hate the Indian govt and BCCI.

Pretty much this. I'll never support any league which is run by a racist board.

Won't be watching any more IPL matches this season until Ashwin is punished with a full IPL ban.

Supported Sunrisers in the past but Warner and Rashid seem obnoxious to me now.

CSK is my favourite team now due to Dhoni and Watto.

I don't watch that much cricket in general unless its an important series, or world event because they're just too long for the average viewer now, so leagues like PSL and IPL sometimes fit in my schedule and it is entertaining cricket.

Stopped following since the snub of Pakistani players. And even more keen on not following since the BCCI's recent antics.

I seriously hope and pray we get some poetic justice with India humiliated and crashing out of the world cup.

I follow IPL, not super in-depth but I watch a lot of the matches. Cricket is cricket

Goodness! are you serious? Who boycotted whom in 2009?

The only IPL i followed was in 2008, that was a lot of fun especially given that Pakistani players were involved which made it more exciting.

Wish we had Pakistani players playing IPL, this feels incomplete without participation of players of number 1 T20 team. Hope in my lifetime I get to see a sensible government governing in the national level.

Watch it here and there on TV hard to follow it when my favourite players aren't there. Supported Rajasthan Royals since the first season because they had Tanvir, Warne and Watson and still like the look of therir team now.

I do if I have the time. It is the highest form of T20 cricket in the game.

Yes it would have been great to see our players compete, but our self-inflicted ban is no reason for me to deprive myself of a fantastic competition.

Support is strong word, but I do enjoy watching KKR win more than other teams.

It's about time Pakistani cricketers are allowed to participate in IPL, if they want to. They must be given a fair shot and their selection should solely be based on their contribution to the team and nothing else. 10 years is a along time and its about time BCCI let go of its vengeance.

On the flip side, Pakistani cricketers should learn to keep themselves out of controversy and quit making political and controversial statements.

It was Pakistan's fault for not having any Pakistani players in IPL. PCB tried to blackmail BCCI and got what it deserved.

Thats right, but how long should BCCI hold grudge? It's time to move on.

It was never about grudge.IPL owners don't trust PCB , they don't want to bid for someone they are not sure they can have in their team.

PCB has to understand they need BCCI more than BCCI needs them. IPL has grown leaps and bounds in last 10 years all without Pakistani players.

PCB suing BCCI and all those silly antics which PCB has pulled in recent past is what is keeping Pakistani out of IPL.

We don't need BCCI, PSL is finally returning to Pakistan and consists of players from the Number 1 Team. It will flourish beyond expectations from now on.

It's IPL, who have players from low level teams and can't have Pakistani players, due to their own fault of mismanaging relationships with PCB.

Good for you and your PSL. But IPL will keep growing and every player's first wish will be IPL.

I have followed every IPL season since 2009. I don't see an issue with watching the IPL. Who doesn't want to watch AB and Kohli bat together? Who doesn't want to see Ashwin bowl at Rohit? Rabada bowl at AB? Boult bowl at Kane Williamson ? Why would you not want to see battles like this lol? You must not be a proper cricket fan if you don't think this is entertaining.

Also I know a lot of Pakistan fans who watch the IPL.

Atmosphere is electric in the IPL. High pressure situation, tempers flare. Initially I was a hardcore IPL hater. But over a period it grew on me. Women started watching IPL instead of sas bahu serial. That is one upside.
ALso if you root for a club it is all the more interesting. Then there is fantasy league,

I think Pak fans who are comfortable with themselves will admit that they have watched RCB go at it with KKR for a few mins at least. Only Pakistanis who are insecure will say they haven’t watched a minute of it or their izzat is at stake, when these same people might be doing some other form of besharmi in their own lives. Thankfully such people are in the minority.

I thought we were keeping cricket and politics separate as Pakistanis, what happened to that?

Glad to see most of us have big hearts and are givers of emotions and not takers, nothing wrong with watching high level cricket competition.

I hope RCB wins on the back of Moeen Ali's surgical strikes against Indian trundlers and FTBs. :moali

Do you not realize that there are people out there who do not enjoy T20 league cricket?

Sensible post, but you are talking about Pak and India fans, a lot of them display this fake sense of nationalism and over the top patriotism, thanks to this, we put nations before the fact that we are humans, we all bleed the same, don't let politics interfere.

The same people vividly watch the PSL, so its clear cut they are being nationalistic, but if it makes people happy then so be it.

Hope to be alive one day when people stop being overly patriotic and disliking something or someone because of borders, religion, etc.

Nothing wrong in watching or not watching. I personally watch very little IPL or any T20 but I do follow it. What I don't like is people downgrading IPl. When everyone in the world knows it is the best league period.

Sorry but all other leagues combined will struggle to equate what IPL has become both in terms of popularity and also on the field.

I do watch whenever I get time but unfortunately due to busy schedule this season so far I couldn't watch a single full game :(

I recently saw a series of videos on Netflix covering Mumbai Indians 2018 IPL season so now I am cheering for them.

I used to like KKR the most as they had Wasim Akram so he was the only Pakistani involved in it, but since he's left them, I couldn't care less. I guess if I had to choose one team that I want to win, it would still be KKR as I had a slight attachment with them but I don't follow the IPL after the way they have treated Pakistan and it certainly won't affect my mood either way whether KKR win or lose.

How did they treat Pakistan?

Don't watch that a league that hates Pakistan the only league I followed back in the day from India was the ICL with the Lahore badshahs and that's only because they had a pak team and pak players I found the league to be quiet fun to watch

Csk for their old horses, favouring them to trump again, as per normal.

And you know this how? T20 league cricket isn't appealing to many cricket fans. I have never watched a full IPL or PSL game.

Personally I watched almost every IPL game from 2011,which was right after the WC, to 2015. Supported Punjab cause of Azhar Mahmood.
Once the PSL started there wasnt really any reason to continue keeping up with it.

I think it is fair to see people of a country generally follow their own leagues the most - and only few watch other country's leagues.

I may be wrong. I haven't heard any English or Australian fans following IPL or PSL for that matter.

IPL is elite competition for T20s for sure, high stakes. But I can't be bothered since no Pakistani players are playing and I have no emotional connection to it. Will catch a glimpse here or there or watch scorecards from time to time. I do hope they play more local emerging talent, a big flaw in PSL in my opinion. Can't be bothered watching Raina and Uthappa one more season.

None or no team should have been an option.

The way India in general has, not letting our players play, banning broadcast of PSL etc, why should I follow IPL?

Nobody is asking you to follow IPL. But don't give this silly reason that IPL is not letting Pakistani players play.

PCB is the reason why Pakistani players are not playing in IPL. PCB has to realize that their actions have consequences , they were the ones who shot their players.

None or no team should have been an option.

Seems the mods have listened to you as that option is now available. That's what I voted for despite my above post saying how if I had to choose one team it would be KKR, but to reiterate my point, I don't really have any emotional investment in them and I don't give two hoots how they do, now that Wasim Akram is no longer part of them.

Yeah just noticed that now. I'm not going to lie, I used to enjoy watching the IPL when the likes of AB, BMac and Gayle were in their primes and lighting up bowlers regularly but the same stuff over and over again does get boring and I stopped following many a moon ago.

No one banned the broadcast of the PSL. DSport themselves took it down for a week or two and then it was back up.
