Looking at the current Aus vs SA series, and the Pak-NZ series, i am amazed that none of the teams have scored big yet.

Frankly, after watching so many run fests, i am happy with this. This is such a refreshing change, reminds me of the early 2000's odi games growing up. There seems to be genuine balance between ball and bat. Lets hope it lasts.

Yes, but not on UAE kind of slow, low pitches.

I enjoy seam, swing or bouncy conditions more. Where ball is not stuck to the pitch but also can move laterally.

UAE is suitable for our Test style of cricket but not LOI.

Those 385 plays 337 games are a yawnfest, where every ball is a potential boundary.

Give me sub-280 scores every time.

I enjoyed Asia cup actually and yeah, slogfest is no fun.

But Asia cup was a slog fest though. Remember, India chased down Pak's score of 238 in 39 overs without losing a wicket. Had they batted first, surely they would hv ended with 335-340 total?

Pitch is one thing, but a good batting team would score runs in most conditions.

I would put that down to batsmanship and bowling quality. Afghans made it very hard for India. Bangladesh in the final as well.

In phattas like those in India, you can close your eyes and swing the bat around. Plus the ridiculously small grounds make it a bore fest.

I enjoy games with scores in the 280-300 bracket. With the occasional score being in the 310-320 or 240-270 range. Flat phattas where both teams are scoring 335+ are just boring to watch again and again from a neutral's perspective. An occasional game might be exciting but not every other game.

The day when scoring 300 plus was a big achivemeant were the best days in ODIs. Whilst I do like this modern era seeing teams score 350 plus every game aren't always enjoyable as the 2nd innings is usually a conclusion.

I personally prefer a mix of both. Not all matches should be 350-360 total, and not all matches should be 220-230 total as well.

Australia-SA series currently is a mix of both and even though it lacks some box office hit players, it is still a worth watching.

Hopefully, a 300-310 total in the final match of Pak-NZ should seal the deal for me for that series as well.

2 new ball being scrapped apparently

1 ball to remain after 25 overs

Potential return to the old days

It’s amazing how Pakistan were playing 90s cricket in the era of the 2 new balls

Now maybe they will play 60s cricket

Think Pakistan will do better. It will bring reverse swing back and PAK bowlers won't look completely helpless for a change.

Tbh, maybe not.

Pakistan is a “please don’t smash me early” side.

The new rule will mean people will go much harder than before in the first 20-25 overs and score as much as they can before it gets harder to bat.

I personally prefer ODI games where par score is 220-250. It was like that in the 90's and things were very enjoyable.

300+ games are not enjoyable for me. It feels like eating French Fries. Junk and not fulfilling. :inti
