Are bad batting coaches and facilities equally to blame for the decline in Pak's batting fortunes?

India has historically always been a better batting side than Pakistan. I recently saw a Geo Cricket program where the anchors listed the names of so many Indian Cricketers coaching young players in Academies and then listed the names of Ganguly being involved in West Bengal Cricket, how Dravid has taken ownership of Indian's U-19 team, Zaheer Khan being the bowling coach of a domestic side.

I guess it also helps that the BCCI can comfortably afford to pay these players such a huge amount that they will not have any problems at all in giving back to their country and have nothing to worry about

Then the anchor also talked about the same old ex test cricketers in the PCB like Iqbal Qasim, Sallahudin Sallu, Haroon Rasheed, Shafiq Papa and the same old ex test players being involved in the NCA which has not produced a single cricketer of note.

Inzamam, Yousaf, Younis Khan should actually be batting coaches at the NCA or at the U-19 level rather than Chief Selector.

But the most revealing aspect I read in an article which complained about the lack of modern training facilities at the NCA for e.g. in a vast majority of Indian Academies, you have a proliferation of bowling machines where a batsman can practice and work on his technical flaws for 2-3 hours at a stretch without any problems where the machine could bowl at 90-100 mph, move or seam the ball, bowl a bouncer, spin the ball.

In comparison there is perhaps just one such machine at the NCA but the vast majority of batsmen at best can only get 20-30-40 minutes of practice time before the net bowlers get tired and ofcourse the net bowlers themselves are of very inferior standard. Lol, I remember reading a quote from Fawad Alam where he mentioned that sometimes when he goes to practice at the NCA, it is a huge challenge and problem for him to find net bowlers in the first place.

We all know about the quality of our domestic pitches so won't go into depth. But these revelations are indeed very alarming.

Absolutely spot on..At least we can hire indian local coaches which will not cost much.our cocches will never help the cause.
